@DARK_RITUAL:
And when has this been confirmed that it was true? How can G2 shorten lifespan of a rubber human? Then why is Luffy still using it? In fact after time-skip its like his base now, so why hasn't Luffy die by now?
Lol is that really all you got?
"Why is Luffy still using it" <–- what the actual fuck. Okay, then I am going to argue that he had no reason to fight Lucci to save Robin, because yea. "Why would he do it if it can kill him?".
For the simple reasons Luffy has stated hundreds of times already... He doesn't care about dying. He just wants to have fun and accomplish his dreams. If it would actually kill him any time soon to just get into Gear Second then yes, obviously he would stop doing it. But since there's no telling how much lifespan he is removing, nobody could argue when Luffy would die.
I never argued that Luffy would die soon, or even by the end of the series. I literally said "Who knows?". I was only arguing that there is a chance that it could happen, which doesn't mean that I think he will die within 20 minutes when he next uses it.
Yea, the part about Chopper's mom says nothing, since not everybody in the OP world has that lifespan. It differs for everybody, and we haven't seen anybody else that has been hacking away their own lifespan. Luffy will not grow as old as the rest, otherwise it would not even be worth mentioning the lifespan hack.
I don't know what will happen to Luffy by the end and I never really feel like thinking it over too much as I cannot predict it anyways, but I'm not excluding the possibility of Luffy dying within a few OP years. And if you have any argumentation which indicates what G2 does or does not do to him then alright, throw it at me. But all we know is that it takes away his life, not how much.
@ The Blackbeard stuff, well I did say "aside from capturing Ace" but you're right, I completely forgot about the ID scene.
EDIT: just on a sidenote I'm not sure when I will be able to reply again as I am on holiday right now.
