However our Dollar used to be worth half the USD - it's kind of rude that while our Dollar has increased the price has rarely adjusted. We pay $100-$120 for new release games here on consoles - and when all the companies are asked to justify it they basically shrug and say 'cause we can.

I never ever ever do this, but I totally will buy PS4 upon release. I have not been this impressed in a long time. Good beatdown of XBONE.
Got my console news (and KH3 and SSB4 were also nice) now time to wait for the japanese shows and hope Atlus finally has some goodies to show us.

Aint had a chance to watch it yet since every video I find is halfway through. But all I seem to see is everyone screaming Sony have killed Microsoft in price/it doesn't have DRM…..which kinda makes me feel odd. More for the fact that this is stuff in a regular console, didn't make me want to buy a new one because every other console aside from Microsoft's does it anyways.
So aside from God of.....Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts 3 was anything new announced? Last Guardian maybe? How about Vita?

Okay, I don't wanna bring this matter back up or sound like an ignorant pig but… I'm watching Microsoft's E3 con and just got to that supposed "rape joke." I'm sorry, but I find thinking it was a rape joke to be seriously stretching. It was "I'm kicking your ass, you're going to lose, just let it happen." If his opponent wasn't a woman it wouldn't have been heard that way.

I wasn't expecting the joke to go that way, and that's how I interpreted it anyway. At the very least, the joke(if it was scripted) seemed like it wasn't focus tested since I would think if you got at least 20-30 people in one room (probably not even that much), that someone would hear it that way. I also don't see who uses 'Just let it happen' often when trash talking.

I mean I'm willing to believe that microsoft didn't do it to joke about it with that intention and screwed up honestly, it's still tasteless and should be criticized. It's like saying gay in a derogatory way in your every day life. You might not mean any harm by it or have ill intent against gay people, it's still in very poor taste.The thing that made it so awkward to begin with was not that it was a woman necessarily(at least for me) it was because the situation was about depowerment and disregard. That said with the majority of victims being women anyway the underlying demand for equality of genders in this case is very misguided.

A few months ago I wasn't interested in next gen consoles at all. Microsoft brought my interest to negative values with their One bullshit with used game & DRM etc. etc. well you know. But after Sony's announcement at E3, I'm hyped again, at this point I would buy a PS4. Here's to hoping they actually keep their promises, though.

I wasn't really rooting for Sony, in particular, and I never really have, but they won my heart today, even if in the end what they're doing is just good, sound, business practices. All I need now is for Nintendo to show us a new Zelda, 3D Mario, the obvious SSB4 trailer, and something about Metroid....On the tasteless MS comment issue, I seem to remember we had a very similar argument in the God of War thread, regarding both blatant and more insidiously subtle misogyny in that series…

At first, he makes the "It'll be over soon" bit and it doesn't sound like it's necessarily referencing rape by itself, until the "So you like this?" bit later. I honestly think either of those jokes by themselves could have legitimately not been about rape by themselves. It's putting them together that REALLY makes me see the connotation there. but there is a SLIGHT separation between the two of them, and if Buuhan didn't notice the second bit because of that, or didn't see the connection between the two, then I can easily see where he's coming from.

Like I said a page before it doesn't matter in this case that the intention was probably without relation to rape. What matters is that the language used was used way inappropriately in a very distasteful way. There is a reason people shouldn't label black people as negroes, why they shouldn't use gay as an insult and also why the language in the presentation should not be acceptable… is it that so hard to understand?
I don't feel like I threw that accusation without reason, his argument was devoid of empathy towards the people that would be affected by that. That's what I would call insensible. If he did that out of ignorance that's what I would call uneducated.

I indeed didn't pay any mind to that second line, only the first. Together… yeah... it's a bit different. Tho it comes off more sadist than rape to me.

I'm not defending the guy who said it here, I'm defending Buuhan for missing the connection between the two halves of the joke. I'm saying don't be so fast to call someone an insensitive jerk please. I legitimately agreed with Buuhan until I heard the second bit later. It's definitely about Rape, but you miss that one little bit and I can easily see how someone could not see it.

So finally watched it….It was....ok I guess. Overall I felt Microsoft had shot themselves in the face with the console itself. Having said that their games impressed me more. Sony kinda just announced what is standard as a console and Kingdom Hearts. Everything else just didn't care less about. Kinda at the stage where I'm gonna sell my Vita since they promised tons of games for that and announced....ports. Most else was games I don't care about and stuff coming for Wii U. And further examples of Final Fantasy going out of the window. So yeah it was a kinda safe one in that they just shown enough to beat the X-Box.
But now. Time to ready our bodies.

So i didn't watch sony's conference but from what i gathered it was many time better than microsofts. That video above made me laugh and i guess square with final fantasy XV and more importantly kingdom hearts helped the ps4 impact better. Plus the pricing of £350 is the cheapest i was expecting which is good. Seeing as i don't ever go online on ps3 i won't need playstation+ so much but out of this and the xbone this is the sure fire console

But with all the 3th party support + price and region free, i think i'm going PS4 first.

Do wonder what the publishers think about all this. I'd assume they've seen reactions and at least think they're riding a losing horse at the moment.
Expect to see a frickin' ton of Microsoft timed exclusives now. It's going to be their best strategy to get even in miltiplatform, which, oddly enough, might be the best they can hope right now.
Also, it's been a bit sad reading XBONE developers on twitter. Just ignoring the issue entirely.

No Playstation Eye included, which helps explain lower cost ($59 at retail), but that makes the light bar on the controller a little obsolete already.
This conference was really light on expanding on announced details. Nothing on Share. Almost nothing on Vita/PS4 cross play. No demonstration of how touch pad will be integrated. No Move (though, yay, really). Guess that'll get sorted out more this week.
And in continuing good news, Shu confirmed only one PSPlus enabled account needed to turn on multiplayer for other accounts on system, though that probably should have been assumed.

PS4 is more powerful, cheaper, has more interesting games then the xbone, as well as being region free, no drm & used game friendly. Only real change from ps3 is the online paywall.
Wii U "relaunch" is in about 2 hours.
