Seriously getting One Piece withdrawals without the weekly chapter updates. C'mon Oda and get better mate. Probably shouldn't smoke so much but hey long hours of work go hand in hand with smoking.
No new One Piece Chapters for 2 weeks - Oda hospitalized for infected tonsils
-
-
Is it strange that instead of getting One Piece withdrawals, a few weeks of not reading it makes me lose interest instead?
-
@Medical:

No, it is healthy.
-
I really feel him.
I sleep 4 hours and smoke a lot too and I'm 35.
I don't draw manga lol but loads of less noble other reasons.
It's not good…overall you always feel dumbened and weak-ish.
I do really hope Oda can change a bit is habits. -
@winnyshreds:

Not really. Long hours of work go hand in hand with sleeping and going on vacation. Not ruining your body further.
-
Just replace "Chocolate" with Spoilers/Chapter and that's me.
-
I've just read that Oda only sleeps for 3 hours a day. That poor guy works 21 hours a day. Also heard he smokes + drinks alcohol, combined with sleeping 3 hours a day could lead to serious health problems T_T
-
I'm the only one thinking that Oda will die before the series end? Smoking+3 hours sleeping+bad food…...........
-
he's only 38 years old… i think him sleeping 3 hours is natural for his body since he's done it since childhood, and smoking shouldn't kill you at such a young age, unless you smoke like 20 packs a day.
-
Oda-sensei, get well soon… or get well soon and take it easy about going back to work.
-sending through telepathy-we all know why OP went into hiatus. SJ and Oda-sensei keep open about it, though they still have us worry. but for another manga/mangaka that doesn't...it's much worse. i already worried sick just because Oda on sick leave for 2 weeks, let alone a whole year. so i don't think it's good to make fun of another hiatus mangaka like it's an easy ordeal.
-

I sure as hell hope not.
-
I wonder how much visitors Oda had while his abode in the Hospital. I think a lot.

He will get a stroke. Its sad but the chance is really high.

@Dan:
Thanks physic Dr. Randoy.
Well even if hes not a doctor his answer is logical. If u say to a doctor that you smoke, you sleep 3 hours o less and you eat very bad the answer will be change your life or you will have serious health problems…
-
Im using these two weeks to catch up I'm on chapter 564.

The best we can hope for in the worst case scenario - is that Oda has drafted the end and someone has been entrusted to finish it. Otherwise it'll be a story everyone spends the rest of their lives never knowing the ending to.

i heard all his assistance knows the ending of One piece…
-
Dont even talk like that!
Oda is not going to let himself die. He's the one who wants to end this story most.
-
At least Oda probably would have got some rest at the hospital after his operation… As in more than 3 hours sleep.

Real life isn't a manga - sheer force of will will not keep a person alive indefinitely.

It's funny you say that, it reminds me of those grandmas on life support, who say I'm going to live to see you graduate or some such event and they literally pass away the day after. The human spirit can be an amazing thing.
I have a feeling Oda is just fine by now.
-
So I guess we can trash this thread since we are getting the chapter this week?

@-Pk-:
I wonder how much visitors Oda had while his abode in the Hospital. I think a lot.
Hmmm…I wonder.

Oh really Greg O.O well I hope that lucky person got to share a ton of western fans appreciation with him.

And some people call me a shitposter.

mmmm … everyone will DIE in the end ... don't say something belong to God's Will
shut it .... and close this thread as soon as we're on monday
-
When Oda was young (about 10 years ago), he usually slept only for 2 hours a day. It does not mean that he slept for 2 hours straight. It was an accumulation of 15 minutes' sleep…[1]
Hah! No wonder his manga is great, the guy has completed the uberman sleep routine ages ago.

What do you mean on God's will? Oda is the only god I believe in.

…I will laugh if this thread somehow turns into a religous debate.
-
Everyone will die? Actually, I think that in a thousand or few years with extremely advanced medicine and technology it's possible that humanity might discover a way to become immortal.
-
Maybe they will have a long life… Live indefinitely is less likely but possible... But I doubt that humanity will find a way to be truly immortal, and there will always be the possibility of dying of unnatural causes.
Which means that everybody eventually dies, even if someone lives indefinitely something will kill him, be it an accident, or natural disaster, or murder, or gets tired of living and ends his own life, even if nothing kills him for millions or billions of years eventually the sun will die, eventually the galaxy will be destroyed, eventually the light of all the stars in all the galaxies will go out, and who would survive then? -
-
-
The main question is: do we actually want to be immortal? If we would be immortal, wouldn't we lose the joy of life? If life never ends, can we still see the value of it? It all relates to the question of the meaning of life. Shouldn't we just enjoy life as long as it lasts and accept dead? After all the dead is also a part of life. This is the deepest off topic moment in a while :ninja:
-
Some people think that without death, life has no meaning. For me though, immortality or death don't make life any more or less inherently meaningful or meaningless. I think that with immortality I could actually enjoy life more, since I'd never have to worry about it ending. I could do things I wouldn't normally do or be able to do because of the possibility of death. Additionally, I've always wondered what the world would be like hundreds and thousands of years from now, which isn't possible to see with the current natural human lifespan.
-
Weird this went this route.

apparently it turned into a debate about the meaning of life.

-
soooooooooo do we know if oda is ok now?
-
No manga should stay serialized weekly this long. He should go the Jojo route.
Though Araki is a vampire, so of course he looks healthy,
Always wondered, but whats the Araki route lol

This is a non-issue now that one piece comes out this week.

Barring any unforeseen Zombie Apocalypse starting the day before spoilers >.<

Hey Oda.
I'll be your personal man-bitch, and baby sit your daughters for free if you let me know about what happens in One Piece. :ninja:
Heck… I'll even let you sit on me from time-to-time.
-
I found a new message from Oda:
Sorry readers,
I have a good and a bad news.
I will start with the bad news; I will take an extra month break
because I believe the next part coming is so important to the manga that I need to be as healthy as possible
The good news is that my daughter will draw little spoilers of what is gonna happen every week until I'm back and ready to draw.
Friction, a member of APforum will be the one providing the spoilers. Thanks for everyone reading my manga.

I found a new message from Oda:
You better be lying, and confess you're lying in the next 5 minutes, or I'm knocking you the hell out.
