Natsu squeezing Lucy's tits.
The only thing she's there for now.

lemons are so squashy…..
So this episode was about showing Lucy naked? last one was about getting her naked, I'm assuming Erza migth be next.
This comic is pure gold if only for the fanservice. I liked it.
If people want serious manga, they should go reread Monster or so.
And if you want to see naked girls and shots of their boobs and ass for half a chapter for no conceivable reasons besides way too much uneeded fanservice, go read/watch hentai not a shonen.
All the fucking chapters are about BS friendship power ups and girls getting naked, isn't this supposed to be a manga about a magic guild that strives to be the top guild in the world and a kid a dragon slayer kid that wants to slay a dragon and be the most powerfull mage?
Natsu is not even fun to watch anymore, he lost his essence, I liked him at the start rigth now I don't really know what quirks he has anymore besides pulling a bs powerup and having problems traveling in vehicles, heck most characters have been ruined the only decent characters rigth now from the start is probably Gray and Gajeel.
The fight choreography is just sooooooooo bad.
We haven't even seen anything resembling an action from the Dragonlings.
And when the swirly magic appeared to save Erza, I totally thought it was Sabertooth girl who had been insta-converted. Generic Energy Magic for the win.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
I had to do a double take on the Breast Grabbing scene. I just couldn't fathom how it worked in context.
Finally: Oh, I guess it's Natsus attempt to cover Lucy up? Ah. Ha. Ha. Thats not forced at all.
I also love how Lucys sheet Falling off in the end of their scene isn't even acknowledged. Theres no comedic "Eeeek!" payoff. It just falls off, and thats it.
So this episode was about showing Lucy naked? last one was about getting her naked, I'm assuming Erza migth be next.
My bet is on Mirajane, since she's up against the perv-dragon.
To think that this should be he most dramatic time, with all the guild fighting for their life against unbeatable dragons… meh. It's not even worth as a gag manga, by now.
Things Hiro will forever tease and never actualy do anything with because lord knows character interaction between these characters on anything but random arc-centric bullshit would be asking too much:
Natsu X Lucy
Gerard X Erza
Juvia X Gray
Why even include all of this when he does nothing with it for 300 chapters straight ?
I know a lot of you REALLY didn't like Rave Master, but the further we get into Fairy Tail the more I like that story in comparison. I feel like most characters in Fairy Tail are rip offs of other characters from other series, just slightly tweaked, whereas Rave Master he attempted to make heroes, and villains unique as possible.
I dunno, I like Fairy Tail well enough, but it's certainly one of those series you read/watch with your brain turned off.
The first page was weird. Is he really just reminding us he has a foot festish? Why was her boot off?
The rest of the chapter was dumb. I do not approve of badly done fan service filler.
Oh and Natsu supposedly left Lucy cause she took too long in a highly important battle to pick out and outfit? Congrats, she's a huge joke now.

Pretty much.
Though the final villain was a moron who eliminated 90 % of his troops and his goals were to destroy the world cause it was a "false one" and not the original one where everyone died.
Which was apparently realy important to re-enact, even with the slight detriment of all of humanity going extinct, for some odd, never explained reason besides "legitimacy".

Yeah… I'll give you that. The final act, and the reasoning behind it was a little... jumbled.
Is Hiro trying to make his readers excited or give 'em boners?
And Erza has got to be kidding me. She can stand up and fight after being slashed countless times but in that situation- against nameless fodder no less- she gives up because her legs hurt? seriously LOL
I liked this chapter.Natsu groping lucy to cover her was actually awesome because there isnt any other manga did it like that right? Its always male character that covers his eye and maybe looks with one of his eyes while the other is covered but he just groped them to cover her.
Other than that there wasnt anything important. Also Swirly magic is OP .
Fanservice Tail! That's all about it.
Well, atleast Lucy will now know the freaking future and we'll get some insight on all this chaos, hopefully, without fanservice.

"The future sucks. Whatever I do I always end up naked.
Also there's a shit ton of dragons around. You better do something about them.
Love
Future Lucy"
I give Hiro credit…to troll the hero and heroine of your story at will need some great sense of humor... (cough cough....)
Okay these two chapters made me dont care about zirconis, who should be the jade dragon not the fanservice one.
I read some of your posts about the latest chapters being bad and I was like, yeah, I can see why. But this chapter made me really feel what all of you ment. It was dreadful, I mean there was nothing relevant and the fight between the dragon and the girls was so lame… And lucy, oh my god lucy, you are officialy the worst manga character development ever
"It's not that I like being alone.
My loneliness is the only thing that forgives my weakness."
…
Yeah. Hiro's opening pages are like some sort of self confession.
What's Jellal's magic supposed to be, does it have a central theme or is it just generic mysterious evil energy balls?
I'll admit I love me some fanservice…but this was a little too much even for me, but I'm sure Lucy's use to this by now
Dafuq are you doing Hiro? I miss RAVE...:ninja:

I think Rave was better at this point also but it seems Hiro just loses inspiration and the mangas get shittier as time goes and now he puts all his marbles on making perv scenes because he knows a lot of idiots(don't have another word to describe it) will read the series purelly based on that.
I generally don't have a problem with fanservice and fanservice isn't just show girls boobs or asses, there are other kinds of fan services but he just overdoes it for way to much of a margin, Oda gives us some fanservice of that kind once in a while(the anime makes One Piece look a lot more Fairy Tail then the manga) and thats fine but this is just to much, its the same reason I stopped reading Kenichi, which I actually like the story(but was getting kinda confusing) the fanservice started to increase as time goes, it was like if a girl had to battle she ends up naked, I just can't make sense of that kinda of stuff and it pisses me off.

Then Lucy realizes she's useless and fulfills Charlie's vision?
Terrible series.

Naruto?
Meh chapter even though half of it was the naked adventures of Lucy
You know, I don't understand why people use cliche characters as reason to bash on this show.
Cliche characters are the least of this show's issues.
I don't know if it's just me thinking that literature is truly at it's best when the storytelling is realistic/logical and the emotion is handled well, but I honestly think you guys bash on Fairy Tail for the wrong reasons. Cause I don't believe in cliche characters as a problem for any work of art.
On the subject of fanservice, yeah, Fairy Tail does it bad. Cause in my opinion, fanservice is only bad in my opinion when it doesn't make sense within the context of the universe.

Aren't cliche characters, sometimes, a consequence of bad storytelling? And we already discussed about how the arc was going down by not giving a proper storytelling some chapters ago, atleast it's what I reckon.

Also, Hiro's abusive use of fanservice is ruining the arc if you don't notice, even if it's within context (if that ever happened). He just used half of a chapter to draw Lucy rolling with Natsu, while he could've scrammed that into one or two pages and used the chapter for something really useful, like making Zarconis not seem like a terrible dragon.
Just wanted to inform you that on Funimation's One Piece marathon stream, Chris Sabat called Fairy Tail the "gay DBZ". That is all.

Well, yeah, they're cliche only when the character acts, speaks, and shows emotion only in that personality that the trope gives them.

Yeah, that's a good example of the bad fanservice I'm talking about.
Im not defending the show, I actually think it's terrible and it's easily the worst piece of literature I have ever had the displeasure of reading. I just mentioned those things because I feel as if you guys weren't exactly bashing the series "correctly" and attacking parts of the show that you personally don't like (like for example, certain types of fanservice or hating most character tropes) rather than attacking parts of the show that just, straight up, without personal preference, are bad.
It's hard to describe, but I think you know what I mean.
And I thought someone would have gone badass and be like: "I don't care if I'm naked. I will still fight." I mean they fight injured but fighting naked is a no no?
Natsu's plan is to eat the fire dragon. Lucy mentionned "fire" and "eat" in the sentense before Natsu went "I got an idea". So it's most likely that.
Fairy Tails biggest crime is thats it a completely soulless patchwork of the most tired cliches the genre has to offer, and nothing else.
It's a ridiculously bland type of badness that doesn't stick with you, and isn't much fun at all.

IMO, Fairy Tail's biggest crime is it's predictability, lack of direction, and, well, you know, bad storytelling and characterization.
Easily one of the manga's ever created
It's hard to describe, but I think you know what I mean.
Yeah, I do, glad we sorted that out.

Thank you.
At this point, I wonder what Hiro finds so funny about abusing Lucy. During this chapter I don't think it feels less like the nudity was fanservice, and more meant to be a source of comedy. He's done this the whole manga, and in hindsight it doesn't make sense.

I think the whole scene would seem more funny if it were animated. Unless they would have spent 3/4 an episode on Lucy being naked… with fillers!

That is a very interesting point
I remember in the Edolas Arc, the Fairy Hills Omake, the Grand Magic Games I think, etc.
But who knows, maybe he tries to make it comedic in order to make it feel less fanservice-ey/creepy. Maybe he also feels a little weird about the fanservice every once in a while, so he tries to shrug it off a bit by doing that.
Got a chuckle out of the chapter, but more annoyed it's not focusing more on fighting the dragons. We got three chapters of build up already, they're tough we get it, get on with it Mashima. Most that interest me was Milliana running into Jellal.
Just wanted to inform you that on Funimation's One Piece marathon stream, Chris Sabat called Fairy Tail the "gay DBZ". That is all.
Heh obviously the man never read Toriko yet.
I saw, I came…
In the offices of Hiro Mashima: "Arooga arooga me jungle man gimme woman ooga booga"
To be continued
Yeah, seriously. What the hell is Hiro thinking? Fairy Tail's always had fanservice shoehorned in, but lately it seems like it's just there because Hiro's got a boner. I may roll my eyes here and there when a characters gets their shirt torn off, but that's still tolerable. But a man-eating dragon tearing off characters' clothes "just because lolz" to give Hiro the excuse to let Lucy run around naked for an entire chapter and shove her tits in Natu's face?
And the other fights are sucking too.
I bought the first 10 or so volumes of Fairy Tail a while back, but I have no intention of collecting more of the manga. I'll be buying FUNimation's anime version up to Tenroujima since I'd still say I actually enjoyed those arcs enough to (and probably the filler arc since I thought that was okay overall), but I'm not even sure if I'll even want to invest money in the anime past that. Not only is the Grand Magic Games a horribly written tournament, but the overarching storyplot is being shit on by jokes that aren't even funny.
And this is coming from one of the ones who was defending the series for the longest time, so I can't imagine how most of the people in this thread must be feeling by this point.

Eh still prefer this to Naruto. Like I say, not every arc's gonna be a winner and were still midway through the story. I like Mashima, I honetly and really do. Sometimes I don't want anything overly complicated. A good little storytelling's always fine by me. But yeah he's been making some questionable decisions. I suppose that's due to the anime and him focusing on trying to avoid it getting cancelled. Hence the rushed pacing, but still he does really need to focus. Fairy Tail isn't bad, it has good ideas but need some better execution. As for fanservice, it's a trademark of his. No crime against and I've seen worse (Read ANYTHING by Oh!Great) He did it for Rave Master and Monster Soul, this isn't any different though I admit he is taking it a bit far as of late. I let it slide the last few chapter since it is mostly for a joke. But we'll see come the following chapters.

I'm not going to defend Naruto because the current shit there isn't much better, but I'd say Fairy Tail is currently just as bad.
I mean, I like fanservice and all, and Hiro's good (read: too good) at drawing it, but now isn't the time and place for it. The sense of danger is drastically sliced in half when your main characters are fondling each other's tits instead of focusing on the enemy at hand, and a supposed deadly dragon eating clothing is just too absurd for words. The fights are way too rushed and lack any sort of development. People will argue and say the friendship victories have been there since the start, which is true, but I didn't think it was nearly as nauseating as it is now. Winning through the power of friendship may be corny, but at least the other fights were decent and involved some form of skill. These days, Erza just whips out a random armor that breaks the rules of her own universe.
I guess what I'm saying is that I feel that Hiro has been taking the things that made his manga only decent before and hammed them up to the tenth power so they make the story downright horrible now.
As far as Hiro goes as an artist, I won't knock him there. I'm a fair person and I'll criticize the story without attacking the author like some people do. As far as art goes, the man is talented and I praise him for that, but his storytelling needs some serious improvement. Though, it may just be me, but I feel like his art has been dropping lately. Does anyone else think that his sideview character panels look strange lately, or has it always looked that way? Maybe I'm going crazy, but I feel like his noses and chins look very weird now when he draws them from the sideview.
I think the biggest issue is both the anime and the fact that he's supposedly doing another manga at the moment. Anyone working on two series at once will have to sacrifice quality on at least one of the stories.
Terrible series.
Naruto?
Rave .
Still better then all of Fairy Tail up to the present.
Speaking of which, did you guys know that the Fairy Tail x Rave crossover is being animated?
Hey its that dude that defends Fairy Tail but needs reasons to keep watching/reading One Piece.
Also its crazy that someone actually suggest this is better then Naruto, even if this arc is just crap or most of post timeskip has been pretty bad and no I don't need to make any big argument about it, the reason are obvious.

Well, opinions, I guess.
For me, I'd say Naruto is better, but only by a hair. I mean, Naruto's writing has been terrible for a while now. The difference, I think, in my eyes is that Naruto used to be far better written than Fairy Tail at Fairy Tail's best, so I guess you could make the argument that Naruto is better. But again, it just comes down to opinions. Some people will still enjoy something that's written badly for just the characters. Honestly, I actually prefer most of the Fairy Tail cast over Naruto's cast, with maybe the exception of Shikamaru and maybe one or two others among the rookies. And probably Guy, Bee, and Raikage.

Oh for real? Cool, hope it expands some things.
wow, it sound like you guys never really read Rave during its serialisation.. for me, it feel just slightly better than Ft right now. i stop reading it 4-5 times and i only read it in volume format and not weekly..
