Because it´ll take time before the marines send (if at all) the admirals for him and then it´ll take some time for them to actually get to Dressrosa. In the meantime, he´ll deal with the whole Law transaction situation.

What felt weird was the fact that Law said today that he was going to give CC back to Dofla now…we know he wants to lower the strength of Kaidou by making sure no more SMILEs were produced:

• by destroying the factory on Dressrosa (last chapter)
• by having Dofla quit the Shichi so that he´s hunted by the Admirals and can´t produce "safely" on his island (Dressrosa),
  but why doesn´t Law simply kill CC is beyond my understanding. That´s the only foolproof way (as Dofla said).

He wants to break him down bit by bit so then he'll be more vulnerable… it's like Doflamingo is a lemon, and he's using the hand, Caesar, to squeeze as much out of him as possible.

So Doflamingo being a king is quite interesting. Wonder if he was the king prior to becoming a pirate or vice versa. Hopefully, we get DD's history soon!
Crocodile was seemingly following Doflamingo with his underground organisation and his plans of being a king.

Okay, first off, we jump to Aokiji's arrival. He warns Dofla to stop, but like he'll listen. Maybe it's because the same thing happened to Luffy, Robin, and Saul, but when I saw Doflamingo break out of his ice like nobody's business, I was impressed.

Eventually Dofla leaves with Baby 5 and Buffalo (guess he has bigger fish to fry?) while Aokiji treats Smoker. Good to see he's still the same serious-then-forgetful type, and now I'm curious to see his alignment, or what he's been up to.

Then we get….Straw Hat hijinxs! A staple between arcs. Kinemon mistakes Zoro as Ryuuma, Usopp and Chopper stay up all night in fear of Doflamingo, Sanji/Kinemon/Brook all get jealous of Momo bathing with Robin (his face was priceless). Just a wacky, fun, time.

But then......the newspaper comes out, and it seems Dofla has bowed to Law's demands and resigned. But at the same time, the world knows of not only Luffy and Law's new alliance, but that of Hawkins, Apoo, and Kid. Things are going to heat up!

What I'm hoping for next chapter is an insight at the Marine HQ. We saw Aokiji, now what's Akainu's take on all this?

The only thing that changed about them is that there is slightly more fanservice, it's obnoxious, but doesn't ruin characters just because it's there occasionally. Nothing else about their characters has changed. Nami still wants treasure, is a navigator and voice of reason, while having a compassionate and caring side. Robin still is interested in history and is a motherly figure, along with being morbid. Other than fanservice what proof do you have for their character detriorating?

Maybe this is not the thread to talk about this, but basically they used to be part of the story and not mere eyecandy. Were they really relevant in the last two arcs? I think not.

Maybe they simply not had "time to shine" in the recent events, but those two seem to be becoming background characters.

they are taking the "long way" ,it's clearly statesd in the previous chapter.
and it's also clearly stated that they are first going to green bit,and THEN to dressrosa

I think that Doflamingo quitting the shichibukai is an important part of his plan. We'll just have to wait and see what part.

Robin found a poneglyph and figured out the poseidon thing. Nami helped to take out two of Doflamingo's assassins at the end of this arc and along with Chopper is the reason why they stayed on Punk Hazard in the first place. There's a few smaller things they took part in, mostly team efforts, like stopping the kids and fighting the small dragon. In comparsion they probably had about the same relevance as Usopp and Brook this arc. Does that mean their characters suck now, too?

How the hell was Nami not relevant this arc? Being relevant and getting fights are not equivalent. Nami is the one who decided to help the kids before anyone else for example. And in FI we had Robin revealing the stuff about poseidon. I'll admit though that Robin really didn't do much else in these last two arcs, but then other than Ennies Lobby/water 7 which centered around her, she has never much so that can't really be called a change. And that's probably in part because her power is really hard to work with in the first place.

not sure if it is either but nami was kinda important to this arc. she was the one that wanted to save the kids. as much as i dont like the story about the kids, the kids was pretty much this arc. the cc and law thing were important as well but i think they were pieces to a bigger picture (saga). robin didnt do much this arc, and neither did most of the crew, just bits and pieces really (robin being the worse after the franky fight)

then fishman island robin had more shine than nami, she had a bit more display in the fighting, we saw her see a new poneglyph and she revealed (well neptune did) that shirahoshi was poseidon and that the poneglyph in skypiea talked about fishman island.

But, i do believe its not "the crews" time to shine yet.

Amazing chapter… the wait was worth it!

Chapter 700 will be even more amazing, I'm sure. The newspaper showed Doflamingo dropping out of the Shichibukai, and Shichibukai Law making an alliance with the Straw Hats - with the implication that the government will respond in some way. Two possibilities! Sakazuki dispatches the Admirals and one comes their way, or Luffy may actually get nominated for Shichibukai! If Luffy's goal is to take down all the Yonkou, the WG could benefit by placing a "do not kill... yet" tag on his head.

The colorspread is GLORIOUS!!! and pretty fast moving chapter. Plots going crazyyyyyyyy. Kaidou better be a dragon. And I"m curious to know what Law hopes to accomplish by getting DD out as shichibukai, it seems like that's his most preferred outcome.

Also how the heck did the WG learn of Apoo, Hawkins and Kid alliance already? If they didn't announce it (which I would hope is the case), the WG sure has good surveillance in the NW.

So refreshing to reading a manga that is moving the plot along without boring pointless, sidtracking stories and recycled plotlines…...#shade :ninja:

Aokiji could not have handled him in 10 seconds flat. How do I know? Because he didn't pursue the issue. While most likely somewhat stronger, he did not want to fight with Doflamingo.

Plus, let us not forget that Oda has been building Doflamingo as a character and a major player since Jaya. Luffy will have to go all out to beat him. If everything goes to order, then this fight will put all the others to shame (except for maybe vs Croc.)

Then of course, Luffy will have to have a major power up to go against Kaido.

I don't think it was anything more than Kuzan concerned with smokers health and put that as a priority rather than squishing flamingo.
