Whoa…..Granny's tough!

I dunno, after reading the chapter.....I'd say we have one more wrap-up chapter left for Punk Hazard, mainly to confirm where Kinemon and Momo will go next, and the fates of Monet and Vergo…..y'know, just for Oda to clear up any, er, ambigiuities.

First we jump back to a flashback, where Luffy/Nami/Law were discussing taking down a Yonkou.....obviously we know now it's Kaidou from last chapter, but that's not stopping him now, is it?

Then we get to my favorite part of it all.....the kids saying goodbye as the Marines all take them away with the tanker. It really tugged at the heartstrings where not only did they cry for the Straw Hats.....but they.....wanted to be pirates just like them.

Hell, even the G-5 Marines were crying because if they didn't stop insulting them and belitting them, they would only be nice to them, as very non-Marine like it would be. They…..pretty much became buddy-buddy with them. Seems the Straw Hats can make friends of anyone.......I am curious to see the role Smoker and Tashigi will play next, and when they will reappear.

Oh yeah.......then we get to Doflamingo, who's getting closer. Can't believe Law sent Baby 5 and Buffalo back with their bodies missing.....how badly does he want to piss him off? On top of that, he forces Doflamingo to give up his Shichibukai title......or jeporadize his business with Kaidou. Well. I really didn't see that coming.

Law's messing with fate, cause ol' Doffy is seriously pissed off now. And the shit will hit the fan.

I just don't understand, why would the Marines, who are now dealing with a new influx of pirates, shot themselves in the foot and not add to the vacant admiral spots? It's basically saying:

"Hey pirates. We don't have anyone good enough to match Kizaru. We're weakening as an organization. Don't take us as serious as you once did because we no longer warrant the same sense of threat"

Well, the thing here is that Yonkou is literally Four Emperors and I don't remember the admirals having a similar name (as having a number defining how many of them existed).

This chapter pretty much confirmed that there's at least two or more Admirals. It doesn't necessarily have to be three.

Didn't care for this chapter. It just seemed horribly stretched for no real reason. Hardly anything actually happened, and it really doesn't take a full chapter to show what we got. The panel with Baby 5's and Buffalo's heads was cool though. Otherwise bleh.

We rly have here people who believe that the marine wouldnt promote some of their VAs during the last two years ?^^ I never even thought about Kizaru being the only admiral for the last two years, but obviously some people believe that the marine doesnt care to have such important places filled sooner or later.
While having for sure enough people willing to fill such an important place, it`s also important for the marine to have such ambassadors.(also more than one person should be able to call a BC in a serious case^^)

So afterall when we really will see later that only Kizaru is by now admiral i will gladly take any punishment those "there is only one admiral"-guys have to offer, but until that they`re obviously one of the reasons why many people think that only OP-no0bs post in here their weekly trash.^^

Re-reading the chapter, I'm a little irritated Law gets to hog the spotlight again, even if seeing Doflamingo really angry and about to act is exciting. I'm hoping his plan blows up in his face horribly, leaving Luffy to scold him for "being a dumbass" and fix it in his own reckless way.

...Or shall it be a pipe dream?

I think Law's plan is just to sow discord between DD and Kaidou. If DD knows he is screwed, he isn't the type to sit around and wait for his sentence, he'll probably take the initiative and attack Kaidou, which would help Law+Luffy alliance.

i was thinking about law's plan.
when discussing the first part of the plan with nami and luffy,law said that he was not looking for a ransom,but for "confusion".
so,maybe he made these requests not because he is interested in one or both,but because he knows that with such strict time limit,doflamingo will try something reckless he can use to gain some advantage over the shichibukai,kaidou or maybe both.

or maybe the "confusion" he was talking about is relative to the effect that doflamingo decision will have on kaidou in both cases.

Unforseen gap most likely suggests re-building for a stronger marine organization. Marines definitely need it!

They constantly lose Warlords, Enies lobby got destroyed, and prisoners broke out of the most dangerous prison

Besides, the Marines have been adding things to there arsenal (e.g. Pacifistas) way before Marine ford Arc started.

And this chapter is incontrovertible proof that there is currently more than one Admiral, of the same rank that Aokiji, Akainu, and Kizaru were to be before the timeskip. Oda has made plenty of visual errors before, but his writing/dialogue is impeccable, and that would be an unreasonably major oversight. The difference in Japanese is a whole extra kanji (大将 vs.大将達), not just an "s" like in English.

I liked the chapter, the first part with the kids and marines dragged way to long and I was getting kind of annoyed but then I liked the rest of the chapter, I guess mystery guy appears next week.

This. Please let this be the case. It makes sense. They showed the creature directly after the Strawhats defeated Moria. Kaido defeated Moria previously and during the battle Moria warned them that in the new world they wouldn't stand a chance. It would be amazing forshadowing to have a Yonkou literally staring the Strawhats down as they hobbled away from Thriller bark

You're right. Indeed it does say that, but honestly, I still can't see how that justifies that Kizaru is the only Admiral.

This is one of the poorest reasons for why two admiral seats should be left open. Especially when we have no idea what will happen from now to the end of the story.
For all we know, Smoker gives up being a marine and end up bounty hunting and Coby could be killed off. Who knows?

The problem seems to be "that have been three admirals before, so the limit is three admirals, if there are three admirals, then how Coby will become an admiral to fulfill his dream and shows it off to Luffy?". Like there can't be more than three admirals aswell.

With the first real mention of the current Admirals, I don't think Oda would make a mistake… considering he knows that it's the first real mention and readers will try and work as much out as possible from it (because the Admirals were quite popular). Just like he did with that bartender mentioning the Yonkou to Nami… keeping it as "Yonkou" because BB acquired his position. Oda can make casual mistakes, but not ones that have significance in a chapter.

And remember it's been two years, and more pirates have flooded to the seas. Akainu would have made changes to be able to compete, so why would he leave the admiral positions vacant? He'd want to build power through the ranks. We've seen how much the SHs have boosted their power in two years, I can imagine some Vice-Admirals have also powered up (maybe not as much, but still...). Doberman seemed to have an "absolute justice" approach like Akainu, and was shown in the Buster Call... my bet is that he was given one of the open slots for Admiral.

Don't people remember how much Oda referenced the "balance of the world's power"? As soon as a Shichibukai was defeated the marines called a meeting straight away to find the replacement to balance the world again. Leaving one Admiral is a serious backstep from what they had before. Also the gov't know the meaning of fear through reputation (could the be reason for the glorious induction of Buggy as Shichibukai, which hasn't been confirmed yet). The 3 Admirals before were seen almost as celebrities, keeping the world at ease because they knew that they had 3 powerful protectors of justice. The marines would want to keep the morale of the world's residents high in difficult times.

No doubt to me there's more than one Admiral.

What if he was coming to see/kill Moria? We don't know what their relationship was, they could be related for all we know. Kaido doesn't seem human based on laws words, what the hell is Moria? Does he look human to you?

And if kaido is fast enough he could get to the florian triangle in a day or 2. Surely he could dissapear for that long without it making the news. Remember what happened to the marine ships that were observing whitebeard? He wrecked them, easily, and then the marines didnt know what his next move was.
