Another awesome chapter of Oda-sensei. Wondering how did Kinemon know that Momonosuke is a dragon. I just hope that Smoker really allowed himself to be defeated to distract Vergo and just wasn't too weak for him. It would be kinda disappointing if Law could defeat him and Smoker couldn't. He's Luffy's arch-enemy for Ener's sake.
I don't know what to think about haki tough. First it's supposed to nullify the devil fruit powers and now even it's defence can be broken with stonger haki? I just hope that fighting in rest of the series isn't just about who has the strongest haki. I'm really missing the older One Piece where the fighting style and taking advantages of enemies weaknesses were the key of defeating them. :sad:

I really liked how that was done though, swapping his heart with wherever his hat was hidden to keep it safe, while also allowing him a cool Zoro-putting-on-his-bandana-to-illustrate-it-is-time-for-srs-bsns type of panel. Made for a badass little sequence.

I thought he put the heart into his chest already :wassat:. And he just use a small Room to swap his hat.
Anw.. how the hell can he swap a thing from outside the Room? -
lol just realized after reading it again that Vergo is not dead, like anyone Law cut (w/ ope ope fruit). Though probably he'll die because of Shinokuni, or Baby 5 and Buffalo arrive at the right time and save him?

1st, haki is not just supposed to be there to nullify DF powers. 2nd, maybe this fight just doesn't need the fighting style and taking advantage of enemies weaknesses. It's just Law is stronger than Vergo.

By giving Vergo more space to attack he also distracted him.
Vergo was focused to finish off Smoker and by that wasn`t paying attention to the heart…so Smoker had to use his smoke-form to make Vergo think he can easily hit him and to use his smoke-power to steal the heart in the meantime-.unless smoker has become a pickpocket,he clearly used his power to steal the heart,and not to distract vergo.

I liked the "we won't act the way you expect us to" :-D
- first it's the worse thing to hear for Dofla because now they could even chose the most obvious way, but Dofla will always have a doubt
- then Luffy never acts as we expect him to so even Law won't know how things are going to turn !
- and finally Oda is sending a message to us too ;-)

Are you suggesting that a vice-admiral is weaker than a rookie? Even with Law's impressive display here, I still wouldn't say the rookies are stronger than vice-admiral level. That would mean they could take on the admirals and that is not happening right now.
Law is not a rookie anymore…and Smoker was fighting without heart...much weaker than normal

I wonder how Sanji and Zoro will react to Law defeating Vergo this way: Vergo was clearly stronger than Sanji and cutting the whole mountain, even with a DF, should make Zoro at least intrigued.

It would have been cool to see Vergo fight in his super haki-man form a bit, but then again having that reveal and then Law doing his thing straight away made it all pretty fantastic.
I guess he was the result of someone focusing on training just a single form of haki, like Reyleigh mentioned to Luffy just before the time skip?I'm interested to see what Usopp will do in the 'secret room' (unless he does just find some seastone cuffs, say thanks and leave again), and how Kinemon will try to get back to the little dragon he now thinks is Momo (I may have missed it, but how did he find out that his son had been turned into one?) is in the middle of a room now filled with gas.
And that Doflamingo face... It's nice to see that now things really are going wrong for him, and that he will take this threat seriously. Is this the first time we've seen him without a massive grin? Can't wait to see more of him soon.
All in all, superfantasticahmahgadAWESOME chapter, and I think it got me excited to see what's to come more than anything!

I could be totally wrong, but I got the impression he swapped his heart and his hat. Otherwise wouldn't he have needed something else in his hand to swap with his hat?
Didn't he kind of teleported a few chapters back into the lab? Although if you want to believe it's swapping you could make an argument that he swapped with some snowflakes. As for me I think his power extends to arranging everything within his room to his liking.

just a few things
1.there isnt any proof he cut the "entire island" in fact all that was shown was just one lab, on one mountain; whats kinda cool was that he also cut shinokuni as well
2. we cant see his room, and from the looks of it, it looks like it might be bigger than the room we saw in his fight against smoker.
3. law stuffed his heart inside himself on page 13, the same page we saw him getting it from smoker, (lower left segment)
4. he got his hat the same way i assume he teleports around. ( or he could trade places with air, not likely but its just a random thought that might not hold any weight)
5. i wouldnt put law on the same level as the other swordsmen as of yet or even at all. that slash seems more fruit created than swordsmanship.
6. i doubt vergo is out for the count. yes he's in half, but a 1/3 kinemon was sparring with brooke (yes he wont be full powered, but in essence he isnt written off)

I really liked it, that we are finally getting into this arc conclusion and seeing what will happen in the world. Donflamingo's (º_º) is priceless.
Also, it's obvious the marines were preparing Buggy in those two years, that's their secret weapon or whatever. -

Just woke up so hopefully this comes out correctly… Anyway, cutting an entire island half is one of those fantasies that you might have when you're a kid playing around with your action figures... if you were even that imaginative. It's just one of those crazy things that you would never imagine actually happening in fiction. Yet, Oda somehow made it happen, and it was like watching some part of my childhood imagination being fulfilled. That was incredible. No matter the circumstances, no matter the "overpowered" statements or not: that's just an objectively cool thing.
Lots of greatness sprinkled throughout the chapter besides that part, like Caesar being pathetically beaten to a pulp, Doflamingo kind of going into hysterics with repeating himself, Usopp lined up against some fodder all alone.

I think that was an issue with the translation, rather than the character.

I didn't like how Smoker and Vergo went down so easily… it makes all their prior build up a little more pointless. Smoker obviously has his questions on justice etc, but I always thought he'd be on Luffy's level 'till near the end, especially since Luffy noticed that Smoker had become stronger since Alabasta - Marineford. 2 years go by and Luffy and Law seemed to have surpassed Smoker by far. And Vergo... he and Doflamingo obviously underestimated Law. I'm sure Vergo would have put up more than a fight against Law if he knew how strong he had gotten. But this was Doflamingo's fault... he sent Vergo thinking that he could beat Law... I can imagine him being pissed off inside, but as cunning as he is he must have a few contingency plans to send things his way again (like major villians do).
And I don't think Law is near the level of Mihawk. Law needs his DF ability with his sword to do what he did... Mihawk just needs to lazily swing his right arm, that's it. The mountain being cut in half reminds me of when Zoro cut Enies Lobby in half, I guess the 2 year powerup makes it likely that Law has that strength when you compare it with Zoro and how much the SHs have grown in 2 years.
As soon as I saw that old woman I thought of that creepy old lady Urouge and his crew came across. To be honest, that creepy old lady has been in my head ever since she appeared... probably because there's so much mystery behind a random old woman sailing alone in a small boat in the New World next to an island covered in a lightening storm.
Luffy beating up Caeser without effort... these logias are becoming practise. I like the double page at the end showing some major players of the New Era... thinking that Luffy will be right at the centre of it and will be taking shit over. If Kidd/ Hawkins/ Apoo - Big Mam - and the other brokers get involved in this current situation with Doflamingo, we're in for a lot of craaaazy shit.
Lol at Law using Doflamingo's words against him. "YOU were the one who never stopped talking about the New Era, well here it is" destroys SAD (and mountain).

How everyone gets on board the crazy "He cut the entire island in half!" train is beyond me. Did you guys already forget that Punk Hazard consists of two halves that both have massive hills and elevated grounds? Remember how Luffy, Robin, Usopp and Zoro approached the abandoned marine lodgings from above, from the top of a hill that overlooked the slope on which the entire barracks complex was built?
Guys, it is just the mountain within which the laboratory is located. You can clearly see the root of the mountain below the fault line of Law's slash. Really cool and Op Op nevertheless, but not an entire island. This is evidently what Law meant by saying that the lab would become a hazardous place to be in after he's done what he's up to.

Can we focus on Zoro getting lost, yet again, when he was supposed to run straight forward? Or the small interaction between he and Tashigi? Oh, how about now all the gas is gonna get in?
Don't get me wrong, I love Law to bits, but there were some other stuff in the chapter besides him cutting a mountain/Vergo in half~
