Assassination Classroom: End Time
-
-
Hmm, yeah that's probably it.
-
An Ikebukuro based bookstore releases the amount of the stock for the books they have.
@Zeromcd@MangaHelpers:
1200 - ONE PIECE 68
*160 - Nisekoi 4
*150 - SKET DANCE 27
*150 - Assassination Classroom 1
*100 - Koisome Momiji 2
**25 - Kurogane 6
**25 - Sensei no Bulge 2Quite an illustration of expectations both publishers and sellers put on Matsui's new book. And considering that lately Shueisha has been underprinting the volumes for newer series as both Nisekoi and Haikyuu had to be reprinted in the summer, Assassination Classroom is going large.

That data is the Junkdou Ikebukuro store.
11/02 new release stock

150→42 108 Assassination Classroom 1
*160→119 *41 Nisekoi 4

Unless they got more the next day, they're probably sold out right now. -
How has this not been put on Alpha or released over here with that much advertising put into it yet series like Bulge and Tamagakara got thrown in immediately?
Is it a genre thing perhaps?

Because Alpha only has so many translators, they have to pick what they think will do well Stateside and eventually go to actual trades. They thought Bulge would be the next thing, they were wrong. It is mostly a genre thing probably. "Typical shonen hero quest and adventure>wacky classroom hijinks".
I'm sure with Assclass doing so well and Bulge off their plate they'll start handling it soon.

I'd agree, but I feel the need to add that series like this are harder to translate (because they feature a lot of puns) and that I'm not so sure this would do that well stateside. I like the series a lot, but its a super weird gag manga and to me it seems like it'd have a much smaller niche in America than Japan, even among manga readers. I'm really unsure if it would do that well in the US
-
You have to keep in mind as well, Alpha is not really designed for flexibility, due to the manpower required for each issue it's very hard to play catch-up and get people up to the newest chapter, which is what it would take for AC to go in SJA at this point. The difficulty is that series end and start in Jump in groups of two or three, and in order to maintain their page level (because no one wants to suddenly see the magazine they've already paid for shrink in size by 15-20%) they're basically forced to choose out of the fresh-starting series when one goes down, and you can't just wait and see which one is good, you have to pick one and go with it, because once that thing's started it's already too late. I'm sure SJA wasn't really expecting to have to go through all this overhaul, ideally they'd prefer to have a solid lineup of popular titles that lasts for at least a year or two.
Plus, not that Viz would have known about this ahead of time, but there are certain aspects of the series that would be hard to slip into their content range. Especially the fact that there's a running joke about all the students calling the one teacher "Ms. Bitch." I'm not a prude but that kind of openly sexist material is a bit aggressive for their comfort zone, knowing that they already are wary about having language in the "hard PG-13" category.

Seems like Matsui is gonna appear in tv for something relationaded to Ansatsu:
!
-
Yeah, Matsui is going to be the guest of the next Jump Bang talk show on TV Tokyo on 09.11.

Despite having unusually high quantity of first print, apparently AC vol.1 is already selling out nationwide.
Shuueisha announced additional prints shipping as early as mid-November, and continue every consequtive week from there.
http://nelja.jp/weekly-tl-topics/2060
http://www.s-book.net/plsql/sbook_shuei_juhanThere's also a tweet of a bookstore owner that recalls talking with Shuueisha about the very high quantity of first prints and wondering if they're going to postpone the additional prints for a while, to which the Shuueisha staff replied "On the contrary, I think this title potentially will force us to have additional prints even with this quantity of first.". The bookstore tweet comments that he now knows what the staff was talking about, as his store completely sold out within the first few days.
As for the current chapter
! Good game, Mr Red Eye. I hope we see you in the series again.
Perhaps you can teach the class how to snipe? As well as physics class. -

Shueisha is really going all out with this.

I'm enjoying AssClass as much as the next guy, but being in the middle of reading Neuro (currently at chapter 90, after the, by far, most intense arc till now), the author's previous work, I feel that this is just a very little taste of what we can expect from this guy.
Among many great things, the images he created with Neuro are some of the most disturbingly hilarious (and hilariously disturbing) stuff I've ever seen; even if his drawing ability is barely average, the ammount of creative drive he has in creating these visualizations is just beyond incredible. I think he's far from that point with AssClass so far, and it's possible that it is not even in his agenda to do anyhting like that (cause these are different mangas and, so far, different styles), which would be kind of a waste, but he still has a lot more stuff to show.
What I'm getting at (if I'm getting anywhere at all), is that the mangaka is terribly talented, and seeing how awesome and "special" Neuro was, what we've seen so far of AssClass is good as long as it's just a tease of much, much better things to come.
Oh, and I'm also getting at this: Read f*cking Neuro if you still haven't. It is seriously good for you. And for your health.

You haven't seen anything yet. Wait till you get to Sicks i.e. the best villain ever!!!

The weekly Oricon rankings have been posted at their website. First volume of Assassination Classroom ranks 6th with solid 121,058 copies sold. Sold over, please note, just 3 days (one of which was a national holiday). Since Oricon started their service, only Bakuman's first volume did better with 154,676 copies sold over a full week. Also, the volume is getting a triple reprinting, so it's possible demand wasn't met by supply.
Fascinating, isn't it.
-
It is remarkable how much of an excellent writer this guy is. Quite a stark contrast from Horikoshi. And to think this guy (Matsui) was Sawai's (Bobobo's author) assistant back in the day (which somewhat explains his interesting art style…especially in early Neuro).
-
considering the copies sold out nationwide by 4th~5th day, it's likely the week worth of sales matched or exceeded Bakuman.
And addtional prints for coming in a week and every following week afterwards, it's a massive hit.
-
i hope AssClass can break DeathNote record for fastest volume prints/sells to reach 1 million.
-
If AssClass is so popular, then why aren't people translating it? Aren't we a few weeks behind now? Jesus, Bulge got scans faster than this and it never got the chance to evolve beyond generic.

Dude Ms. translator had some issues due to "Sandy" but the chapter 17 is already trasnlated maybe tomorrow or friday you can read it
-
Also the translations don't appear to be half-assed like Panda (since they seem to put some effort in including the language/culture based jokes). There are a whole lot of them in this work.
-
Exactly. Lynxian does a great job with a series more word and pun heavy than the average. Waiting for her, especially in these circumstances, is nothing really hard.
And yes, Mangapanda are scum.
-
It actually doesn't bother me if they took a while to scanlate the chapters, because they do it decently.
-

I guess that's fair, but you would think that more than one group would be on the job.

Super popular in Japan doesn't always mean popular in the states.
I think the scanlation teams dismissed it early and haven't realized what it is yet.
Don't worry, Mangapanda and Mangastream will start doing fast terrible cash in translations soon enough.

What exactly do MP and MS even get from this, aside from adviews ? I always assumed that was rather flimsy a reason (plus, can't the people who pay you for their ads demand their money back if things get hairy ?), as far as the dangers are concerned.
Oh, by the way, why wouldn't someone in this school transfer somewhere else ? If the chances of getting anywhere from class E are so low, then what exactly would be stopping them from trasnfering to a nother, not so prestigeous school, where they'd at least have some hope ? I know I'd tell them to go circle jerking off a cliff.

I always had hopes that the nerd community paid more attention to these things, especially when Jump's involved. I guess this situation would contradict that, though, haha.

I figure that they would probably be marked for having fallen into a remedial system. That's a giant red stamp on their records. Add that to the overwhelming atmosphere of oppression that prevents them from thinking they could be any better than they are and you get E Class.

Finally, some nudity!
! ….. Koro sensei's bath scene.... and we don't even get to see him nude.
Bitch sensei is only 20.
! And as most guessed, Koro sensei is likely to be originally human, from the speech at the end between Koro sensei and Karasuma. -
I knew what your spoiler would say before I even opened it.
! More info on Korosensei is always good…
-
This post is deleted!
-
AssClass has sold 121,058 copies in it's first three days.
-
Not bad for the first volume of a new manga I assume. Still need to start reading it, since it seems to be really good from what I heard and read about it.
-
Yuusei in JumBang!:
!
-
My god what's-her-name's hair color really sticks out lol. Laughed at Koro's instructions, would love to have a random bonus chapter just filled with that stuff. That blush at the end…. aww :3
-
I thought her hair would be redish, not cyan. That's really something.
Also the chapter ended having a nice conclusion, I really liked it.

Nagisa is a guy no?
-
Nagisa is a guy no?
Nagisa's hair isn't blue? Also, I'm talking about the girl-whose-name-I-forgot-that-is-just-next-to-him.
-
Sorry you're talking about that girl wait WHO IS SHE
-
-
I want the guidebook.
Like, seriously.
-
I thought her hair would be redish, not cyan.
Same here, but I like it.
All's well that ends well…
-
Nice color cover, i never thought Nagisa's hair colour would be like this. The chapter itself was good, and man, that's truly one hell of a guidebook. I would pay for one of those.
-
That guidebook's like the Junior Woodchucks Guidebook fron Donald Duck, hahaha. But not as light weight of course…
-
Something tells me Red-eye will either become a recurring character or become a teacher, kinda like Bitch-sensei.
-
I liked the James Bond background effect that Red-Eye had going on during his intro page. And yeah, it's probably not the last we'll see of him…
-
Yeah that wouldn't be the last time we'll see of Red Eye.
-
I can see him turning into a photographer with the scope connection. Let's just hope he doesn't become too obsessed…
