Gin's hair is slightly less messy than Law's at least in the anime.

When you're fighting super strong giant kids, your only options are to subdue or to go all-out. The latter's not really an option.

Interesting outcome, but remember there's a plot structure that these events all inevitably lead up to with Caesar supposedly being a big part of them. We've got Hunter X Hunter for subverting shonen tropes (although One Piece subverts its fair amount of tropes, especially recently), One Piece is mostly about perfecting the shonen genre.
But you're right, this is the start of a whole new big horizon of One Piece, and with the events of Marineford and Ace's untimely death… anything can happen. That goes doubly so because Oda is nearly unpredictable. Who seriously thought Luffy would fall into a trash heap? Now he's probably going to get involved with Mononosuke.

I think the Shichibukai were created mostly because the WG simply couldn't take the Yonkou without them. I mean, Jinbe was basically loyal to the WG in everything but fighting Whitebeard, Mihawk, while not exactly loyal, is dependable against everyone but Shanks, Kuma was an undercover revolutionary and got transformed into a mindless robot anyway. Hancock was unreliable but not actually planning anything against the WG until Luffy showed up.
And most of the rest would just be plotting as pirates anyway without their titles. Blackbeard and Crocodile are the only ones who really needed their shichibukai status to further their plans.

Luffy constantly jobbing is getting pretty old. I feel like he has Galactus syndrome right now. In where he's enormously hyped up and supposed to be amazingly powerful now (ie: Galactus in any circumstance), and magically manages to lose or get delayed through complete and sheer incompetence.
Galactus: Super powerful, near limitless cosmic energy. Loses because he sits inactive as the people opposing him slowly execute on an extremely telegraphed plan. Could simply annihilate who he's facing in an instant instead of waiting.
Luffy: Incredible power from his haki control. Precognition in the form of observation haki, and massive speed due to his training + gear 2nd. Can see attacks coming, and respond with incredible power before taking them.
What did Luffy do this chapter? Instead of responding and instantly taking out the snow hut, he looked at it dumbfounded, and watched as a bird lady slowly approached and hugged him. Call it what you will, but this is some seriously shitty writing. Luffy's power increase only served to produce fights that are far less interesting, and most of an arc (now 2 in a row) in where Luffy acts like a supreme retard (to a degree that pre-ts Luffy would seem smart) before finally taking out the big bad in a chapter or two.

The problem is that the silly and dumb parts of his character have been amplified 10 fold post-ts. Because that's the only way Oda can imagine writing him right now without having him steamroll every threat that comes up.
You said it. Agreed with this 100%. It's getting tiresome, and twice as bad because it was only a few chapters ago that Oda highlighted to us that they have been too careless throughout Punk Hazard and can't go on that way. Luffy hears Zoro and resolves not to lose again. 5 chapters later, what happens? He loses again because he's careless. It's crappy writing. It's like you say, Luffy has become more incompetent than ever to effectively offset for his increase in power. It's the same old carelessness, yes… but it's been taken to a degree where it now overshadows and envelops every other aspect of his character. It isn't fun to see the main character fail over and over because he practically lets the opponent win. It isn't fun to see sheer incompetence get him whooped on repeatedly even when he resolves not to let carelessness do him in.
I hope the people who say it's no different than usual bother trying to understand what the problem is. It's not that Luffy's careless in general, and gets himself into some pretty dumb situations because of it. That's part of his charm. It's the sheer degree to which Oda has been taking it recently where it goes beyond being funny and entertaining and just becomes irritating.

That's just making up excuses for their actions in the they all screwed the WG over. I know they need them to keep the Yonkou in check but I'm starting to wonder if there are still pro's then con's of having 7 corrupt pirates in the top of your organisation and give them access to gates of justice/impel down/mari Joa/Marineford/calm belts and everything else.
It just proves that the navy is incompotent to train 7 capable marines of the same strength, It's rediculous that they have to rely on pirates in the first place.

I think it's possible, but not exactly likely. The New World part of the story is inevitably about the SH's distinguishing themselves from every other pirate crew out there. They have to be exceptional, even among exceptional pirates. Obviously, that won't happen right away, but it will.

Well, I read a really cool triology called Mistborn… Mild spoiler, there they can burn a metal called 'Atium' which basically lets them see a little into other's people's futures. That makes them literally INVINCIBLE in a fight. As they'd know exactly where other people would dodge (it also ennanced their reflexes). There was something, though. If too people were burning Atium at the same time, they would be changing what they would do with each image of the other person's future, and so the images go on an infinite loop and just become irrelevant clouds around the person. Maybe that is what happens when two COO user's fight. Because, as ilustrated by Enel and his priests, Mantra is fucking overpower. All of them only lost when they lost control of their Mantra. But it isn't that good a thing when you're not the only one having it (it's a radar and nothing else).
That's how I'll see it until future explanation.
About Luffy and Monet.
Let me remember you that Luffy isn't giving two fucks about the kids. He doesn't even want to beat Ceaser. He wants to catch him, because Law said so. That's why he went for the catch, instead of punching him brainless, and only resorted to punching when grabbing failed. So to him Monet is just a barrier. If he was mildly serious, he might have punched her, but he wasn't trying to defeat her. So he threatned before, and I'll assume there's more to her powers than cold. Maybe Yuki Onna Zoan, and her embraces steal a person's life force? Seems interesting. Only downside is that being an Harpy named Monet who uses awesome glasses is already cool enough. Making her a Yuki Onna... I don't know if I can handle it. :<
Still, Luffy did a great job of finding an escape route. Let me remember you that the hut was too small for him to swing an elephant gun. So he'd have to punch it 10 times (1 time broke a single hut)
And let's not downplay Monet. She seems as flawless as Alabasta's Robin.
Chopper protecting the kids was heart wrenching and just plain endearing. Who the hell said there was no character development? I see plenty here...

Vergo was already toying with his heart. Law managed to snatch it, but got soro'd and kicked to the face. Him managing a hit is a proof of how overpowered he is. You need his own ability to defeat him. 8D
Smoker's entrance was just badass. And now I'm eager for the fight. Smokey's fights are awesome. Just love the smoke dynamics, with him swirling around kicks and leaving the jutte behind, throwing some faint's in. He's the logia who better uses the flexibility the power grant's him... (probably because he's the only logia without an axe 'you die if you touch it' ability... Kizaru has the laser beams, Aokiji can just freeze... etc

Also the fact Chopper apparently met up with Mocha, formed some sort of alliance/plan with her, and executed it all outside of screen. However, this is not something new to One Piece; it's a form of narrative Oda's been using for a while to quickly get through things.
An arc that heavily suffered from this was Fishman Island, though. To the point it got confusing and, in my opinion, damaged the overall story progress and exposition.
This is something the anime does justice. Their filler is good for fleshing these sorts of things out.

Yep, before we had a lot of episodes where nothing much happened (with the characters running around like headless chickens) and now that things are getting interesting there is no time/space on a weekly episode to give screentime to all the open fronts.
But whatever flaws this arc may have is not even near of the trainwreck of Fishman Island.

It appears that Caribou will get saved by the simplest and most obvious solution. Coribou. I was hoping for a little off the wall craziness, but I suppose that's a bit much to ask from a cover story. I wonder if we'll actually get to see Coribou fight for a panel. I'm still waiting to see what he can actually do.
This girl is a good reminder that the kids with withdrawal symptoms are only a fraction of the ones that were abducted. It also seems that she's the only kid who knows the truth about Momonosuke. I suppose Kinemon is destined to find her sooner or later.
So Monet's power is confirmed to be actual snow. Interesting. For some reason I find the 10 layer hut hilarious, but it does seem like a pain in the ass for Luffy, considering he destroyed the first one with a haki powered gatling. I like her admission that Luffy's stronger than her, as it does justice to her intelligence. The application of cold to drain strength and make a person tired is pretty slick. Good, creative tie-in to real world application there. Sure it's exaggerated, but it always is. It's really starting to seem like those bird parts came from Law rather than some zoan fruit. The clues have always been there for it, and it's still not totally confirmed, but it seems pretty likely now.

Or he could use the opportunity to learn geppou I suppose, but I doubt it. I'm pretty interested in the purpose of this, but I do hope that he's not down there for the next 10 chapters or whatever.
It's no surprise that Chopper used monster point in order to survive the onslaught from the kids and has no intention of harming them. It is surprising that he did it without much of a plan, though. It basically amounted to nothing but a 3 minute stall tactic which will result in him being unable to move and do anything productive for a while. I figured he'd at least be sedating them in the process with that sedative that he got. I'm a little surprised that those kids can do damage to Chopper while he's in monster point, too. Their strength is really no joke. I'm sure they'd suck in an actual fight since they're kids and all, but that's beside the point. Their faces get kind of creepy, but lol at the girl stepping on Chopper as she runs by.
Looks like Mocha is the kid Oda will use to get us emotionally invested in the group of them. Momonosuke seems to have his own thing going on. It seems like the smart thing for her to do at this point would be to just give the candy to Zoro and let him guard it. He'd probably have no problems. Monet seems to block the exit and cement herself as evil all in one move. Cool character, but any hope of redemption for her morals seems unlikely at this point. I gotta admit that she has serious guts by showing up in front of Zoro, Robin, Brook, Nami, Usopp, Chopper, and Kinemon all at once. I can't help but wonder if Sanji is going to show up and depress all of us by defending her. Either way, fingers crossed that this is building to Monet vs Robin, which even Sanji would be unable to object to. I'm also a little curious if Brownbeard went his separate way.
Law vs Vergo and his cheat code. Even with the heart advantage, though, Vergo's coming across as pretty tough. His reactions are faster than I expected. He's definitely being brutal about it like he was instructed to. Law lost his hat! Huge moment! But… his hair is... normal!?!? Nooooo. Where's the typical OP zaniness to his character? That's disappointing. I'm not so sure about Law's comment of counter shock not working. It seemed to work just fine, but maybe not as effectively as he would have liked. I'm amused that Vergo's still hung up on the lack of an honorific.
Finally, the Smoker vs Vergo matchup we've been waiting for is about to begin. Smoker's been in need of this redemption for practically this entire arc. I assume that he'll win but Vergo will manage to escape for the Dofla crew vs Strawhat crew showdown later. That seems like the most likely scenario to me. Smoker losing again here would be pretty hard on the reputation of his character, and Vergo getting captured would most likely take him out of the story completely (and it's too early for that), since I doubt there will be another jailbreak arc. I figure Law should have an easier time retrieving his heart while Vergo is fighting someone else. On the flip side of this, Caesar didn't appear in this chapter and it seems like he'd be on his way to the SAD room. I guess it's possible that he's trying to set up another experiment that will kill Luffy, but that seems less likely since it would have a lower priority. Caesar still has Smoker's heart, so really anything could come of that. Franky hasn't appeared since he took off for the Sunny when they broke out of the cage, but I doubt he'd appear here. Still, it seems like we should get an update on him sooner or later. It's getting long enough now that it's starting to make me curious about him.

The reasons why FI arc was not a good arc were already stated in many occasions. They go from lack of narrative cohesion, clarity, tempo, uninteresting villains and lame resolution to say some. On the other hand people who like the arc usually answer with a "Fuck you haters, I liked it!" which is a very solid and grounded statement nonetheless.
I _know_ it wouldn't ever happen, but I'd be so damn happy if Sanji showed up and gave Monet's snowfuckery what-for with Diable Jambe after seeing how crazy evil she's getting.

I said this earlier, but don't you think this conviniently stuck in a place where "you can't get out unless you can fly" a perfect setup to introduce Momonosuke, who just happens to be a flying dragon? Having him saved and befriend Luffy would be the perfect opportunity to introduce him into the story too.
I love baseless statements like these. One of the best arcs of OP is a "train wreck" for reasons nobody cares to explain, because it just comes down to "it didn't meet my personal expectations". The amount of Fishman Island hate on this forum is depressing.
Nah, the anime will just add extra scenes of Zoro-Brook-Kinemon running, with some comical music. Or they'll have Brownbeard effortlessly taking down each of the Straw Hats.
i agree, i might be in the minority…but i like fishman arc honestly...the story is good, the angle is good and the enemies are just used to showcase the 2 year training, cant complain about it. its a good example since they are having a hard time with arlong pre-skip, so i would say the fishmen became strawhats' gauge after timeskip...they became stronger than average-strong fishmen...thus luffy, zoro and sanji could be somewhere around VA level while the mid-trio are few notches below that and weak trio are as strong as average fishmen.
i dont have a problem about that offscreen things...i mean, seriously, do i really have to see it? i knew what happened...law was being punished offscreen. just look at him when he is trying to create a room...and with chopper and mocha, they are working together, i think its obvious they planned it...i dont wanna see scenes that i knew what happened....chopper: "you take the candy and hide, ill take care of them, shit i have no choice, i cant persuade them to use sedatives, they are mad as fVck, ok rumble ball"...basically thats it....do we really to see it? i mean we are not kids to see everything to know what happened....sorry, peace.

What gets me is her info box said Harpy. Doesn't Oda sometimes write the race of a person like that,(like introducing Baron Tagamo said Longleg Tribe) esp when introducing a new race and if it was part of a nickname he would include words 'the', 'of' or have quotation marks around the nickname? I could be far off but that is what I seem to remember.
I mean why can't Oda introduce a new mythcal race? He's already done mermaids. Maybe like Mermaids Harpies can transform the inhuman limbs to human limbs but don't have to wait until their 30th birthday like mermaids do.

Well, I'd certainly say the idea has merit. But why would he be in the trash? That's my biggest hangup with it, I think. There's also still the matter that Oda wants us to believe that the dragon that Kinemon and Brook cut up was Momonosuke. I'm not saying that it definitely is or anything, but it's meant as a red herring otherwise.
Either way, I'd say that theory is as good as any other.

I wonder where Caeser will end up. Was he also headed to the S.A.D. room? Maybe luffy will end up there once he escapes and really make it a battle royale.

Well the other two dragons have been labeled as Vegapunk's dragon, so they were made at least 4+ years old when Vegapunk was around. Depending on whether he's a failure of CC, or maybe he just has a dragon devil fruit and he's sent there for another reason remains to be seen.
^Or whatever invention Vegapunk used to make dragons is in that Secret Room.
