What the hell Cartman. What the hell.
South Park

lol the whole cupid me thing was weird.
-
I rarely watch South Park nowadays, but I happened to catch this episode.
I seriously thought that Kyle was going to kill Cartman at the end of the episode. Or at least maybe beat the crap out of him.
-
That was really weird…

Cartman will be undergoing some kind of paradigm shift by the end of this season, there's just no way…
-
Can't even remember when i laughed so hard at a south park episode.
Crafty setting up a complete crap episode before this and then hitting us with this gem
-
Oh God, I almost choked when Cartman "came out of the closet".
I had to bite my fist to stop laughing when he finally started singing Kyle that love song (1am isn't the best time to laugh hysterically).Cupid Cartman was pretty, uh, unsettling. Hell, Cartman himself was creeping me out. A lot.
-
The best part is Cartman unflinchingly going to those lengths with Kyle JUST TO GET HIM OUT OF THE WAY.
Wasn't even doing anything meanspirited towards Kyle at all, or heeding at all what the consequences would be for either of them, wasn't some scheme or anything… just a means to an end to make Token happy because "that's what makes sense and is right" in his head.
His blatant racism was especially Archie Bunker this episode. Moreso than usual.
But yeah. between him becoming jewish and now this... something is going to happen. That was the last episode of the half-season though, wasn't it?
-
@robby yeah this is the last one.
and now we wait till fall. -
Since Cartman has become "jewish" he has not really gotten into any fierce arguments with Kyle and has only called him a stupid jew once in the past 3 episodes which has to be some kind of record….
Also loved the Game of Thrones lesson by Mr. Garrison, one of the many times a laughed out loud in this episode
-
No, Cartman did rag on Kyle for Jewing them into zip-lining last episode, if I recall.
I didn't really find the last episode to be that good. Maybe got one chuckle out of me (the turkey line). It felt incredibly safe.

Agreed, although I wasn't surprised when he beat Cupid Cartman up.
Songs were good, though and I loved the lengths he took just to stop Kyle.

I love these guys.
-
Now if we could just get the writers from The Simpsons to admit it.
-
-
I love how Matt and Trey are always talking about how South Park is no longer fresh, (don't that say that a show runs out of ideas at episode 100?) and how they're gonna be done soon, or they want to work on other things, etc, yet they're still churning out episodes.
By the end of season 17 (next season – in 2013) they'll end on episode 251. Then by the end of their current contract be at 279.
I won't be surprised if we see the day these guys hit 300.
I know the show is vastly different than what it used to be, and now it mainly resorts to satirizing current events, but I still enjoy the hell out of it.
I have to wonder if Matt and Trey will ever voluntarily stop. I personally don't see that ever happening, simply because of the satirical format the show uses now. Also, because I still want another South Park Movie.
-
They're absolutely burned out on the show. Have been for years. The behind the scenes doc was proof of that. That the quality remains so high is just insane given how burned out they are and how fast they do a normal episode, but thats sheer talent. And taking 4 month breaks.
Comedy Central obviously drives a truck with a LOT of money up to their houses and they decide "Okay, we can devote another 4 months of this year to this."
-
Yeah, they're going to have to throw in the towel sooner or later. I think the only thing they have going for them is that there is no Simpsons-like "golden era" or widely accepted shark jump. Still, any sitcom is going to start losing its edge after 17 seasons. I'm guessing Trey and Matt are still able to negotiate top dollar for the series and the ratings have still been fairly steady.
At this rate, it is kind of in the same boat as The Simpsons and new episodes will continue to be bought as long as the ratings are high enough.
My guess is that we will likely see a season 20 of this show eventually. However, I hope it does not last that long and gets finished off beforehand
-
This year with the "everything is shit" episode would have been a brilliant series finale.
If it hadn't come halfway through the season.
The episode that followed would also have been great for mixing things up… but then they went the cruel/eays route and reverted to status quo. Completely against Stan's (and I assume Trey's) will.

Oh yeah, I get that. Though it's hard to feel too bad for them when they subject them to that horrendious schedule, but it really does minimize how much they have to do the show. 7 weeks of hell sounds like a nice little trade off for 4 months of rest (though in Matt and Trey's case they're almost always working on something else) before another 7 weeks of hell. It's really not a bad idea on their part.
I remember seeing them on the Daily Show right before (or after?) Book of Mormon cleaned up at the Tonys. Their faces were so lit up while talking about Book, but when the topic inevitably switched to South Park, they got less excited. They talked about wanting to do another show on Broadway, and I would love to see them leave South Park behind to do that. Another Broadway show and a return to the cinema for them.
Though I'm sure you're right, and the pile of money Comedy Central gives them will keep them going.

Nah, in the DVD commentary it's made clear they thought about changing things, but decided against it. If Trey wanted to do it, I bet he could have.

Clip for the first new episode of the 2nd half of Season 16 is now out. Its looks like we are finally going to have a Halloween episode again, since the last Halloween episode was all the way back in Season 3.

who's honey boo-boo?
A child beauty pageant contestant who comes from a very redneck family and spawned from a human sized thumb.
-
@Nia:
Oh man, it's that time again already? Awesome :D
!
Bwahahahahaha!
! Does somebody watch Big Bang Theory? Stan trick-or-treating via iPad/whatever reminds me a lot of one of their episodes.

It was Cartman. Didn't you see his reaction shot?
-
now that's funny!
-
Honey Boo Boo lives twenty minutes from me… I hate my life.
-
who's honey boo-boo?

@RobbyBevard:
i liked the first answer better.
-
oh god this latest episode was soooo gross.
and sarcastic. -
This was the worst episode ever.
-
This episode was garbage, just wow. Nothing in this ep was remotely interesting or engaging. Really a weak season opener. Hopefully the next batch of eps fair better. Did not laugh at all.
-
Definitely need to be a sports fan to find this episode remotely funny, it was ok. The highlight's being
! Tom Brady drinking Butter's Jizz. and "Was it a Touchdown or Interception? Ah, Fuck it Field Goal"
Hopefully some stronger ep's for this batch, i didn't think this one was bad but..
-
The only time I laughed in this episode was the very end when Randy was like "this is cum" and Butter's got chewed out. But this episode was unfunny and terribly gross.
-
I thought the entire episode was great. I like the entire Jim Rome parody and Tom Brady drinking Butter's cream was LOL worthy to me.
-
I thought 22 minutes of non-stop sarcasm was hilarious.
-
…I loved the episode.
I actually did enjoy it.
-
I dunno. I love sarcasm, and loved that Randy kept laying it on so thick, but that was the core gag of the episode…..and it got a little stale in my opinion.
Everyone drinking Butters' semen managed to repulse me and amuse me at the same time....oddly enough. Not a bad episode, but not their best.
EDIT: My favorite exchange
"Hey CeeLo! Good to see you on TV some more!"
"Yeah I'm a big fan of your hit song!" -
This was the worst episode ever.
Was being sarcastic. I found it an okay opener. Like Robby I found the thought of the entire script being sarcasm was genius and actually pretty tough to pull off.
-
now available in quart size
-
Was a pretty funny episode. Especially the part where try as he might he just couldn't not be sarcastic
-
This episode condensed, better and almost thirty years ago:
-
The sarcasm was amazing, especially when they combined it with the concussion controversy. Semen though…not that funny.
