Just wanted to inform you guys that my S4V1 just shipped! So check your orders, yours' might have shipped too! ^^
THANK YOU.
Just checked mine and I'm all set. Just when I was worried I wouldn't get mine anytime this week.
-
Hype-hypehypehype. So happy for you guys. I feel like we're officially entering Season 4 territory now.

Mine has been shipped as well, with a scheduled delivery date of July 19 as expected. :)
I'll be ready to rip.

Saw this earlier today, but didn't think it was post-worthy. Looks like the last thing Funimation really has to do now is to get the actual Season 4 Trailer onto Youtube so the masses can know it's coming. Tbh, I don't know why they haven't put it on YT sooner, though the One Piece 101 tactic was a smart move.

I'll be ready to rip.
It'll be nice to see a couple new PirateBeck videos after so long.
To be honest though I'll probably be avoiding this thread until I get mine Friday so I can find out casting choices and how the dubbed songs are for myself.

Ahh! The one weekend I go out of town. expected delivery on the 20th- the day I leave for the weekend!
Should've purchased one day shipping. priority mail isn't good enough. aghhh!
-
Not in my experience; they usually just leave it on the porch like the rest of my mail, but maybe it varies by state.
Any other testimonies from anyone? The last thing I'd want to happen is for me to wait an extra 2 weeks because I wasn't at my house for an hour.
-
They've left it on my porch before. Depends on the mail speed, I suppose. I'm talking about the standard.
-

Unless Rightstuf specifically requires a signature from the carrier, then most of the time, they'll leave it at the porch or in the mailbox (if the mailbox is big enough). This goes for everything I've ever ordered, regardless of where I ordered it, and usually regardless of the carrier. (It's also why I usually have my packages sent to my mom's workplace….someone's always there during business hours, so someone signing for it isn't a problem if it does require a signature.
Now, for the S4V1 coming, it says mine is being sent via priority mail with delivery confirmation, which is basic tracking, as far as the USPS is concerned. So they'll just leave it without bothering for a signature.
And even if it did require a signature, neither USPS nor UPS will return it immediately. USPS will leave a notification on the door to come get it from your post office (or that they'll make another delivery attempt). Same with UPS. It's only after multiple delivery attempts, or a failure on your part to come retrieve it from their offices (and usually you have at least a week to do so) before they send it back.
Bottom line, I think the only thing you would have to worry about is someone taking it if they leave it at the door, or it gets misdelivered.

…I wonder if it's possible to upgrade shipping mid-ship...

Yahoo! Mine has shipped! It's been so long!

…I wonder if it's possible to upgrade shipping mid-ship...
You can't add more postage once it's on the way, so I'm afraid not.
-
Mine's shipped but it won't be here till Tuesday, what Dafuq… Oh well, at least you other cool kids will do some rips to tide me over. Plus there's The Dark Knight Rises tomorrow.

1. We asked for faster shipping. That's why.
2. Dark Knight Rises… Boy, I picked a shitty weekend to go out of town. Regardless, One Piece is much more important than Batman, and there's no way this film can be as good as the last. -

Same here. Hopefully, it comes earlier than Tuesday.

Not always. I always go with the default shipping and I get it the day after it ships.
-
It's Proximity to the shipping facility. Mikey happens to live like, right next door to wherever they ship from to the point that it would probably be faster getting it to him if a dude stood on the roof of the building and threw it towards Mikey's house.
Meanwhile, I'm a far ways a way near the edge of the country in World Two from Super Mario Bros. 3. So I have to wait no matter how much I paid in shipping.
-
Mine will arrive on Friday. Can't wait!
-
mine will arrive within 1-2 weeks because im from the UK. So glad to see its finally been shipped!!!
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
cant wait foir someone to upload kokoro no chizu dubbed too!
-
Mine left Des Moines this morning and it should arrive tomorrow.
Feels strangely good to be getting it with the other early adopters.

…Huh, that once again reminds me that I haven't bought any of these sets since Season 2 Sixth Voyage… I really should get back to that at some point. For now though, I'm just looking forward to one of you guys getting them so that we can actually know if...
-that whole "Missing ED 14" thing from the streams also applies to the DVDs, (which would kinda suck)
-that whole "No translated credits or edited logos" thing from the streams also applies to the DVDs, (which I would honestly be much happier if were the case)
-the DVDs will actually have the widescreen-versions of 207 and on... I mean, I seem to recall FUNi implying that they would, but... -

FUNimation.com has uploaded to trailer for Collection Eight: http://www.funimation.com/one-piece/trailer/collection-eight/4334921. Since the Collection Four trailer they've just copied the previous trailer and changed the random clip assortment, it even lists the episode count as 26 instead of 23!
-

Hmmm, indeed it is, and the trailer even points out that fact. I hadn't even tried watching the trailer before now because I just assumed I'd get the good old "This content is not available in your region!"-message anyway. Well, that's good to know.
-
Hey guys, I was just thinking, with the influx of posts and stuff that's going to be here soon, maybe we should make a new thread just for season 4 stuff. What do you guys think?
Also, I'm so glad that season four is finally here! We've only been waiting for four years.

@Vegard:

You'd be happy having the people at FUNimation who worked at the show being completely left out of the credits? It won't apply to the DVDs since the streams always use the original animations and credits used in broadcast.

The Hulu streams are the exact same as the FUNi streams so yeah had the same thing going on in OP Official.

I don't think it's necessary. It's a DVD and we have a DVD thread right here. Nothing wrong with being excited but this really isn't that different from the previous releases.

They could just do what sentai filmworks does :which is keep everything like it is,and create an extra chapter or page or whatever its called to thank the VA's and adr director.
This way everything is kept and the original logo and animation is retained, while everyone's still getting credit. Then everyone wins

Like I said before this happend with the streaming of Inuyasha. Which Opening 6 didn't have the correct theme music, and the song was done by the same did band that Ending 14 of One Piece. Opening 6 of Inuyasha (with the correct theme music) is on the dvd verison of the episodes. So there is a good chance the correct song will be on Season 4, part 1. Since it probably they just can't stream the song with the episodes.

Actually, no. For Toriko's case, the rights to stream the one ending song was not allowed internationally at the time, so Toei had to cut it out. As for InuYasha, reairings in Japan removed the songs, which Viz had to put together masters for the new "versions" using what was on air in Japan.
EDIT: Also, for reference, the preview is there, so the credits had to be purposely inserted to the video source and was not a mistake. Which… is weird, because I believe everywhere else got this ending song...
EDIT #2: If this is really a licensing issue with the band, then opening 8 is in trouble as well...
Unless they skipped to Opening 7 in Inuyasha I'd say this isn't the same thing. I hope you're right though.

Eh, I saw this in my Bakuman DVD for the first time and I couldn't stand it. I'd rather know who's involved in the episode right after I watch it instead of a long credits list I'm never going to sit through at the very end of the disc. Just felt lazy to me. And besides that the animation would still be altered, we have translated episode titles and the FUNi logo, so I don't even see the point.
-
I got confirmation too that it's shipped. Should arrive tomorrow. Woo hoo.

Really? I rather liked it,everything is kept as it was meant to be seen. But eh,everyone has different preferences. (To clarify I'm actually fine with the way it is now) I just thought it would be the best way to appease both sides.
But I also keep forgetting about the logo as well, which is never gonna change.
-
Mine should be here tomorrow. I shall dance now.
-

…I was mainly referring to the logo-editing. Because let's look at their track-record with this edit here:
OP1: Looked fine, but then again, there wasn't really anything for them to mess up there, being that the original video was just a quick zoom-out of the logo on top of a generic map background.
OP2: Completely ditched the cool transition from the original version in favor of a much less impressive standard fade-effect. Didn't look too terrible, but still annoying that they cut out the somewhat interesting transition like that.
OP3: Again, looked fine as there wasn't really anything to mess up.
OP4: Completely ruined the look of the original by just flat-out removing the entire original shot and replacing it with a random side-view of the Merry. Not cool, guys. Not cool at all.
And now consider how every single opening after that (except Brand New World) used some sort of unique animation or effect for the series' title. FUNi couldn't even bother replicating the relatively simple effect used during Believe, which I'm pretty sure I could have put together in fifteen minutes using Adobe Premiere or something. Do you really think they'll take the time to replicate the letters spinning into place in Kokoro no Chizu, them being scattered over a beach in Crazy Rainbow, the semi-transparent glassy look in Jungle P with Luffy's hat floating in front of it… I think I've made my point. The fact that the original series logo was already in English doesn't exactly help either, as it means that on top of kinda ruining the look of Believe and Bon Voyage, it's also a completely pointless edit.As for the translated credits, I'm fine with those as long as they don't completely disregard the obvious aesthetic of the ending-sequence like I've seen other studios do, (like ADV slapping the same generic centered scrolling credits over everything, even if the animators had left a very obvious blank space on one side of the screen to focus the credits on) and in that regard, FUNi has done perfectly alright so far. I will, however, point out that for all their extensive listing of their own staff, the Japanese cast and staff are kind of just skimmed through, and at some times not even correct. (I do for example seem to recall them listing Eisaku Inoue as the animation director in every single episode…)
-

That's really lazy. I'm glad FUNi isn't that ghetto. XD
Anyway, I'm still waiting patiently for the UPS truck to show up. My dogs will be more than happy to let me know when it's here. Once it arrives, I'll start ripping immediately.

Haha! That's pretty much the truth, Rin.

Mine shipped! Should be here within a few days.

What I don't understand about the replacement of ending 14 is that if it were music licensing that's preventing it from being streamed, why not change the music instead of the entire ending sequence? perhaps whoever was in charge of the stream may have just picked the quickest and simplest solution, I guess.

What music are they gonna sync up to the ending then?

It seems someone who got it says the opening and endings aren't dubbed…

! We're alright- Let's go- we'll cast off now! 'Got passion burning in our hearts!
By passing power- to each other- hand in hand,
We'll be sure to find all our desires!
! Let's ride- upon the largest waves, we'll be alright with all our skills.
Now listen out for- your rhythmic heart beat;
'Cause that's the signal- to begin.
Now's the time to set sail- no better day,
Grab the anchors- raise 'em up high!
We'll ride the winds, of- dynamic colors- Let's adventure- you, and I.
! It's a voyage full of heartache and hurting,
But at the end- just know that sunshine is waiting there.
Even if you're in trouble- I'm there, on the double-
I'll protect you no matter what!!
! We're alright- Let's go- move forward now!
'Got passion burning in our hearts!
When storms come- stand up tall beside your friends- and then,
Recall the light- that you remember dearly!

They will point the way and map out all our days!
And so we'll stand together- under that same flag-
Making sure to find all our desires!
We are all one together- One Piece~!
