About Hawkins, I thought he might be a mythical Zoan. So the idea's not that weird, it's just unlikely.
And I don't hold Brownbeard's survival against Hawkins. The dude stole the use of Brownbeard's legs.

It debunks the theory that Bepo/Pekoms are humans with a polar bear/lion Zoan and vice-versa. Some people still believe it.
I wonder if it could be a DF that lets you absorb (not as in steal, more like as in clone) another DF users ability?
Obviously the user of said DF could only absorb one ability at a time and each time he would absorb a new one it would "replace" the previously absorbed ability. For example if said DF user would touch Robin and "absorb" her ability he would be able to use the Han Hana no Mis abilities but Robin would still maintain her powers as if nothing had happened.
Obviously this would contradict the "there can't be two users of the same fruit alive at the same time" but it would be a damn good twist.

Considering Kizaru mentioned that about Marco and he also fought Hawkins, I'd say no. He's definitely a paramecia, like the other Supernovas minus Drake. I'm guessing if he's a straw-straw no mi or voodoo-voodoo no mi. He lost my respect after he said he saw the "shadow of death" on Brownbeard and didn't kill him, meaning he doesn't have some amazing prediction ability.

the way she was freaking out, i'm pretty sure it was literally "destroyed". i've also heard nothing of the sorts as a confirmation on sengoku's fruit, although his nickname may suggest something like that. as for hawkins a mythical zoan would be nice but i hardly see a voodoo fruit fitting that description, there could even be a sub-category of paramecia fruits related to folklore. I agree that Hawkins' Devil Fruit being a Mythical Zoan type would be a stretch, but it seems that people have forgotten about the other sub-class of the Zoan Devil Fruit, the Ancient type. Since he takes the form of an object that surrounds the voodoo religion or the misconception, since their are two types of religion that surround voodoo.

Here's my theory (which just got a lot more going for it after this week's chapter 666)
I always wondered why Caesar Clown's "human" form still looks gas-y, seeing as he is the first logia type that doesn't revert to a "completely" human form.
Then we have Monet, who is a bird-woman, but also seemingly unable to revert to full human form (flasback doesn't count, and I theorize that she got her fruit after the flashback)
Here's the kicker:
We may be seeing the 2 first cases of artificially created Devil Fruits! Of course with anything artificial, it stands to reason that there are imperfections. Both CC and Monet look like they are unable to revert FULLY to human form.
A plot development this big would also justify why Law may be hanging around on the island.

With vegapunk finding out the secrets to devil fruits, I suppose some experimenting could have been done to create them. Either cc received them from vp (unlikely) or he tried to imitate it himself after working with vp.

Creating a Devil Fruit with an unique power from scratch seems very unlikely, not to mention time-consuming and pointless. Why bother making Gas and Harpy fruits when you could mass-produce, say, the Pika Pika no Mi?

Speaking of the Pika fruit, what exactly is the timeline there? Pacifistas seem like a relatively new weapon, and Drake was surprised to see the laser so that ability is even more recent.

No he is not "Full" human as I meant it unless he no longer has the gas-y parts still coming out of him. When you see other logia's like Akainu or Crocodile, their elements are NOT pouring out of them when they are in "full" human form, aka relaxed and not responding to a threat.
Why would he need to stay in gas form when he is relaxing on his couch chatting with Monet? Obviously because he CANNOT revert to 100% human form. The fact that we've seen EVERY logia thus far EXCEPT for him do it, is proof enough
Pretty sure Law made Monet into a harpy. We haven't seen her as a normal human in the present, and it seems awkward that she would be sitting around on a couch in harpy form. She prolly jumped at the opportunity when Law came about or something. We'll probably see if it was Law or a Devil Fruit responsible for her current form in coming chapters.
As for Caesar, we only see his outfit in some gaseous state. He himself seems to be in a normal form, and you can't really see any gas coming directly from his body. And even if he is the one directly making that gas, that doesn't really mean anything. He could very well just think the gas looks cool. You can't really compare him to other Logia-users as not every Logia-user is gonna make use of their fruit powers in the same way.
It's certainly possible that faux Devil Fruits may come into play, and if it were gonna happen, it would make sense for Caesar to be related. Overall, I just this is a far-fetched theory because there isn't really any explicit evidence to support it at the moment, though I wouldn't be surprised if it happened, and it would be a neat development.
As i said, i think he CHOSE to wear a coat made of gas, for the shits and lulz. You can clearly see his full body on 664. The coat is the only thing made of gas, and quite surely because he friggin wanted to wear a gas coat 24/7
It would be a game-changer if it happens to be true, but there really isn't any concrete evidence at all for it.

Funny enough, I made a similar post awhile back on Tumblr. After Vegapunk up and left the island, he probably left some research behind; Caesar could be working off that if this theory is true.

Then why isn't she on her hybrid Zoan form during the flashback? Answer: she's not a DF user at all.
You could say that she ate a DF sometime after the flashback, but that would be kind of pointless to the plot. Also, there's a likely chance that Law gave her bird limbs through his DF.
Also, I'm sure Chopper stays on his hybrid form not because of preference but because he needs two hands to be able to do medicine-related stuff. It's not like Monet writes better when she's on her hybrid form.
I know if I had CC's power I would wear a coat of gas 24/7, but thats just me.

So when he said that he saw the shadow of death lurking over Brownbeard, that doesn't mean that he saw that he was going to die - he may have just meant that his probability of dying was, let's say, 99%. So his prediction wasn't "wrong" - Brownbeard was just extremely lucky to have survived.

"Buddha Statue" isn't so different from "Scarecrow" in terms of what could reasonably qualify as a Zoan. It also seems that Mythical Zoans comes with a special ability besides the transformation, which fits with his damage-transferring ability. Also, just the fact that he transformed sort of points in that direction. I don't think we've ever seen any Paramecia transform their bodies in the manner that he did. Enel even said something like "He's just a Paramecia… he can't change his body..." if I remember correctly. Form changes are usually associated with the Zoan class. Enel shows that Logia can do it, but we know Hawkins isn't that.

Fair about Mr. 2 - sort of, it's not quite the same - but in Iva's case the changing of the body is a way he utilizes the core power (creating hormones) and Magellan never changes his body at all. I'm not really sure how Hawkins would be explained as a Paramecia. That kind of transformation is usually associated with Zoan. Not that I can't imagine Oda having an explanation, but for me it kind of, combined with the deliberate ambiguity from Kizaru, points toward it being of the animal class.

The way he is drawn, constantly robed in gas makes me think this. It would be interesting if he knew of a way to take direct control of the Gas Gas Fruit's powers for himself, even if he hasn't consumed the fruit. Perhaps he learned this from Vegapunk?
I think it would make him a particularly formidable enemy - in a fight against someone who doesn't know better, he could fake his death by falling into the water.
What if the cloak "consumes" him when he puts it on, and since his willpower is stronger than the cloak's - the cloak shouldn't be sentient, right? - he takes control of the powers.
It would be interesting if "consuming" the fruit simply meant putting it inside you. An object could easily be made to consume a fruit by building pieces of the fruit (or the whole fruit) into it. I know that it is a little backwards to think of the fruit object then "consuming" a person, upon which the person gets the powers, but it might be worth thinking about.

I specially liked the faking death by water thing but if he acquired the powers by wearing it he would most likely also acquire the weaknesses.
Another "flaw" in this theory is that according to you then Spandam should have been able to transform into an elephant just by wearing his sword Funkfreed and that Mr. 4 would be able to use the dog powers his gun has just by wearing the gun on the back.
Also that would mean that a person can have 2 or more DF powers without much trouble. As an example; Let's say both Luffys straw hat AND his shorts "ate" two DFs. His hat "eats" the zoan Saru Saru no Mi (Monkey Monkey Fruit) and gets hairy and grows a tail. Now his shorts have "eaten" the logia Mera Mera no Mi (Flame Flame fruit, Aces fruit) and have gotten some flame design.
Now Luffy would be able to transform into a stretching monkey with fire abilities.

If the D. theory were true and Luffy ate a monkey Zoan, it would be the only fruit that wouldn't disappoint me.
