In all fairness to Kiba him and Naruto could have been rivals in Part 1, maybe in the beginning of Part 2. What's laughable is not that he wants to still be Naruto's rival. What's laughable is that he thinks he still can be Naruto's rival. Usually rivals are on equal fighting ground whether it's in battle, grades, drawing, or whatever you're rivaling or competing in. Unles Kiba is competing with Naruto in grades he will forever be a laughable rival.
Often there's the case where a rival may have to catch up to his opponent but what makes it a legitimate rivalry is the fact that it's possible. There's potential and we all know that one day soon these 2 will be fighting on equal ground and spark an epic showdown. Sadly Kiba, you will never be able to reach Naruto. Ever..so your "rivalry" is very much a joke at this point.
But you know what? Disregard all of the above and say that you don't have to be on equal grounds in terms of competion to be rivals. It can be purely based off of feelings. Ok, cool. THIS is a rivalry.

They have shared history, mutual interests, and have been feuding since they were kids. Ino will never be as capable of a ninja as Sakura but at least we can still support a basis for their rivalry (though it's a much friendlier rivalry now). How much history do Kiba and Naruto have besides they went to the same class? How much interaction have they gotten to show this…rivalry? If this rivalry is purely based off of feeling then the biggest problem is that it doesn't "feel" like a rivalry. -

It was. Now it's if you work hard enough, are the descendant of greatness, possess a secret power up, and are destined for awesomeness you can get somewhere. Unless Kiba has any of that he can't be Naruto's rivalry.

whenever he'd bring up anime/manga in a conversation, it would always lead back to naruto.

I do agree with Uchia Madara (in this one instance) that the last 5 or so episodes of naruto were really well done for the parts they were covering. Dont agree with the 9000 part though

I've never seen anyone online who didn't strike me as 12 years old are complete obsessed fan girl either, I'm sure they do exsist I just don't think there's an abundance of people who aren't young enough to know better or girls only concerned with characters looking good and not saying much (sadly it was better when that was the case) because he's a horrible character, he's the reason I know people who stopped reading Naruto, you seem like a nice extremely loyal fan of Naruto, a nice guy but I'll never understand why you like sasuke I still like Naruto but I loathe seeing sasuke I hate him

Cooler fight scenes? I can't think of any fights I've liked in part 2. And the fights I did like involved Rock Lee, Gaara and Neji. Eye power fights are boring.

I want more Ninja like Lee, pure skill. Gaara is the only character that should be standing in one spot launching massive terrain altering attacks imo.

Meh, Naruto was pretty lame, preferred last few chapters - build up for new powers, I want to see them, not another three pages just to assure the screaming fangirls that Sasuke still exists… It sucks. New Bleach arc feels kinda funny already lol dunno what to expect from it. Nothing, I guess, to not get disappointed.
I find myself missing fairy tail, is that bad? :ninja:

2: A lot of people seem to like the newest episodes. My Naruto-memory is not as encyclopedic as my Bleach one, but I have a nagging feeling there was something very wrong about that flashback. It can't just be that Minato was the only ninja capable of tracking a trail of red hair, there was some deeper, plothole/retcon reason for my dislike. Was it the whole "Jinchurikii are a sacred and honored tradition, but let's all hate on the newest one who happens to be the son of the villages greatest hero" thing?

Every single kid that had a rough childhood (traumas and w.e) in the Narutoverse, grows up to be powerfull in 1 way or another. Either by skill or eye powers or just simple fucking bijuus. So maybe the 4th Hokage was thinking ahead and made sure that Naruto would be dispised by his whole village, so that he could be "stronger".
Still doesn't make any fucking sense to me tho.

cooler fight scenes? Open up your naruto folder and push DELETE on every page that was an illusion using eye powers because they did not happen. Then see how cool his fights scenes are. I recal the Itachi fight where felt like we had 2 whole chapters where they didn't happen caus eit ended up being all an eye battle. Thats bullshit

I think its because at the end of the flashback, even though Naruto's mother has to die… his dad is perfectly fine and healthy still... and could continue to be hokage and raise Naruto properly... and yet opts to die so Naruto can see his mother for 5 minutes later in life.

I was thinking about it and since the villains in this arc are the Quincies I bet Kubo will retcon the whole backstory of them and reveal that they were all evil and deserved to die, SS are not bad guys.

There's 2 arguments for this case. The one against Minato's parenting skills is this:
Kushina offered to sacrifice her own life to get rid of the Kyuubi and save both Naruto and his father (Minato).

Kushina could have simply used the last of her chakra to drag the Kyuubi down and die in the process but as a result of her death get rid of the Kyubi temporarily. Minato would have lived. Naruto would of had a dad and not just any dad but the 4th Hokage to watch over, raise, and love him. Minato could have saved Naruto from 12 of years of living hell brought on by the village's scorn and mental/emotional abuse. Hell, a lot of things would have been different for Naruto. Simply put, he would have been happy.Instead, knowing full well how Jinchuurikis are treated Minato decided to kill himself too so he could seal the Kyuubi and make Naruto a Jinchuuriki who grows up with no parents and the hate of the village on his back.

This is the reason for why he did that and the argument for Minato's parenting skills:The reason Minato decided to kill himself and make Natruto a Jinchuuriki is because he believed Naruto was the Destined Child who would save the world bringing on a great revolution, and be the man to stop Tobi (the masked man).

Minato entrusted the powers of the Kyuubi to his son to help him on this quest. Also, as shown in the scan there's some issue over the balance of power being destroyed if the Kyubi comes back without a host. Remember Kushina killing herself would have only temporarily gotten rid of the Kyubi before it revived itself.Basically that's it…
Tldr; Minato put the sake of the world's future over the comforts of his son. He willingly and knowingly made his son suffer and go through hell so he could grow up to save the world like the little Destined Child he is, and with the help of the Kyubi's power. Is that bad parenting skills? Probably yes.
The biggest problem is Minato didn't have faith in his son to save the world and fulfill his destiny without the powers of the Kyuubi. There's nothing in the prophecy that says he needed the Kyubi's power to save the world. Annnnnd with Minato by Naruto's side couldn't the 2 face off against Tobi equally? Remember in the flashback Minato made Tobi retreat and basically won the match. Minato could have raised and trained Naruto himself to grow up strong and powerful without the Kyubi's power and misfortune. Minato basically put his son through hell and shirked his fatherly duties because he himself didn't have faith in his son to fulfill his destiny without some powerup. Naruto was always the Destind Child…destined to save the world. Instead of sealing the Kyubi inside him, Minato could have substituted the Jinchuurki making business for being by Naruto's side through years of teaching and guidance. I bet anything Naruto would have grown up strong enough with his dad by his side to save the world, and with a bigger smile on his face.
Thus, Yellow Flash parenting Skills. At least that's the way I see it. Minato's parenting skills are debatable like everything is.

yeah, i agree.
i like Fairy Tail anyways, it's full of flaws but i still get enjoyment out of certain things it does.
at least i actually enjoy reading it as opposed to Bleach and Naruto, which both feel like a boring chore.
