Jesus, watching some of the streams of the leaked version makes me lose faith in humanity. It is like they have never played video games before… Anyway, in one week I shall be an Orc, crushing skulls with a 2h axe. FUS RO DAH!
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

-
I'll be playing a Dunmer,wielding fireballs and a sword.
-
I won't be playing it because I'm not getting it at launch :ninja: .
-
SQUEEEE!!!
Just two more days! -
-
so, the online game shop (wog.ch), where I preordered the game a month ago, just happens to have shipment problems with the UK version of Skyrim for xBox, in fact, it's the only version that has shipment problems, so that means Skyrim will probably arrive next week, when work starts again =D
/mind breaks

No timely arrival of Skyrim makes Sheep something something…
Go crazy?
Don't mind if he does!
-
Well … i promised my girlfriend that i would not buy this game until christmas. So that MAYBE she can buy it as a gift.
CHRISTMAS!!! I'm such an idiot ...
I underestimated how much i would want this game at this point. I have to stop watching videos and reviews, dammit ... -
-
Got mine today. Was promised a cloth map bundled but only got a cloth-like paper map. Disappoint.

I underestimated how much i would want this game at this point. I have to stop watching videos and reviews, dammit ...Dude, I share your pain. My old gaming rig is literally old. It's come to the point where it can no longer run any new game that comes out, so I'll have to buy a new computer. The only problem is that I haven't got enough money for a decent gaming rig, meaning that the PC I'll buy will be a laptop. Okay, that's fine.. But what about the money? Yeah, well, whatever the case I won't have enough until the end of December. Oh boy.
No Skyrim or BF3 or Dota2 or Renegade Ops for me until that. Droll.
-
To get it now….or wait for a GOTY edition.....
-
I'd say wait. Had the game crash on me multiple times, huge lag and choppy graphics. Not even an hour into the game either. Really disappointed in it. Kinda tempted to send the copy back as defective.
-
Well, basically everyone knew that the game would be extremely buggy and nearly unplayable at launch, even the guys at Bethesda. It's no secret that they were really hasty in getting the game out as quickly as they could and only after that start fixing the worst bugs. It'll take maybe a week and after a couple of patches the game really is the Skyrim it is meant to be.
Wait if you only want to play a great game, buy it now if you want to live the experience that is the first few days of total mindless Skyrim mania. I know I'd buy the game now if I had something to play it on.
-
Soon, so very, very soon. 14 hours to be exact.
-
Is it as bad as the new vegas launch?
Because if that's the case…well shit
-

It's not really an excuse tho is it? If it wasn't ready to be launched they should have delayed it. Funny how 99% of other game companies can have their games released with minor bugs however it seems to be a common case with Bethesda recently.
And considering Fallout 3 and New Vegas were never really fixed I have serious doubts this will be either. Sad because I actually want to play the game
-
i'm liking this game so far although i glitched into a barrel 8-minutes into the game and had start again. However ignoring that this game is awesome :D

Apparently there releasing a patch on it's actual release (tomorow) that should fix some mistakes however i don't know how many of them

It's not. You've obviously never had a Bethesda game before. Their attitude is generally, "Release now, patch later". Fallout 3, New Vegas, and Oblivion were plagued by the same problems. Morrowind, too, though to a lesser extent.

Own Oblivion, Fallout 3, New Vegas and Skyrim. :P look on my PS3 account if you don't believe me. Owned Morrowind for the X-Box a few years back too.
What I'm saying is that Fallout 3 and New Vegas still had the same problems a long time after the launch and patches. Instead of fixing we just got more DLC.
If Developers decide to release a game before having the game fixed and it has as many problems as these do. As far as I'm concerned it's defective. I can't play the game properly due to these. It's defective. Would you buy a toaster that only toasts 20% of the time? Of course not. You'd send it back and ask for a refund or a new one.
-

You are talking about the consoles right? Because New Vegas is going pretty good now on PC.
-
Well moving past the fact that publishers decide the release date not developers (notice how new vegas was released in october the same month both fallout 3 and the goty edition were released) developers are not paid for releasing patches but they are paid for dlc.
That's why all the dlc patches for oblivion and the fallouts included bug fixes and when skyrims first dlc rolls around you can bet the'll be a list of bug fixes with it as well.
-
I don't think anybody's suggesting that Bethesda releasing 'unpolished' games is acceptable behaviour for a game publisher. We're are just sighing and going, ''ah, that's what Bethesda does. We can't expect any better from them…''
I think their business strategy is that they'd rather disappoint a portion of customers with a buggy release than disappointing the ENTIRE fanbase with a delayed release. It makes sense from a business viewpoint, but is it ethical? Probably not.
-
watching my cousin playing it right here, he's been playing for about 4 hours and it's been super smooth sailing so far, man that dragonslaying is epic.
And btw there's a preacher called Heimskr xD heimskur means dumb in icelandic xD
PS: THE DETAILS IN THE GRAPHICZZZZ
-

Did you buy the game without even any knowledge about it at all? Elder Scrolls games are bugfests when first released. It's a law of the universe.
-

Knowing me, I'd try to fix it myself first if it was an easy fix.
But in all seriousness, I see your point. I'm just pointing out, as others stated, that's it's just what Bethesda does. I think the main problem is that Bethesda doesn't seem to do proper Beta testing… or maybe they do and just ignore what the beta testers tell them in order to push out the final product as quickly as possible... then fix any problems that arise later. Annoying people with a few glitches over disappointing everyone by delaying release... well, it may not be their best decision, but it's what they do.
-
I'm pretty sure that with how massive this game is and especially with the radiant AI that it's pretty much impossible to fix each and every problem.
-
Amazing game!
Didn't encounter any bug so far.I was suprised to see my pc run this game on the ultra setting. (without chopping!)
The scenary looks beatifull. -
I'm thinking of buying the XBox360-Version, but don't have internet acess on it.
How much content will be blocked for me?
Also this would mean that I can't get any patches on it.
Do you think I should wait for a better edition? (For Oblivion I waited for the GOTY-version which came with KotN and Shivering Isles) -
As far as I know there are no online passes or other bullshit like that to keep you from playing 100% offline. I'm sure there will be patches though, which you'd miss out on if it was impossible to connect your console to the internet.
-
I shouldn't visit this thread.
I'll definitely wait for the GotY edition. With the expansions and all.
Like Morrowind, hell yeah! -
I bought this game today. I've only put about 2 hours in, but I really like it so far. The graphics are a great improvement over Oblivion and the world looks amazing. I really like the new lock picking system too. I sucked at picking locks in Oblivion. The only thing I don't like so far is when you do a critical hit, it does like a "fatality" animation. I wish it didn't do that.

Lockpicking is just the Fallout way lol. And yeah the critical animation kinda annoys me. Mainly cus it slows you right down.
-
Sigh, of course you will be complaining I don't know what I was expecting, anyway four hours in, no bugs or glitches so far and the game is AMAZING worth all the time I spent waiting for it, do you guys we could do like a unique quest post kind of thing? Where we share those quest that you find in weird places and stuff.
-
I just popped the game in.
I'm excited, time to play.
-
Dragon!
Anyways, saw a friend play this game. Do want!
It'll be a couple of months probably until I get this game T_T
-
Horses are the best mountineers ever. :I
-
Only bug I've encountered so far is a crash bug if you try to use the "Take All" option for some containers. If you take the items individually, though, it works fine. Other than that, I haven't encountered any issues. Just got my second Word of power, but have no dragon souls yet to use them, although I have a dragonstone… Only level 5, so I haven't encountered any real nasties yet (Daedra, Dwemer, or Dragons, and the like), although I did take on a Nord Zombie Boss. No match for my fire/lightning combo magic. That crap's wicked... The graphics are amazing, and when you get the Combo magic in the destruction tree, combining lightning and fire will actually leave scorch and burn marks on the walls and floor. It's really cool.
-
I encountered a bug on the first quest you get from Farkas after joining the Companions. The quest is to kill some bandits. The problem is that I have already killed said bandits for a previous quest. The bandits register as dead for Farkas' quest, but when I go back to Farkas, he thinks I still haven't killed them for some reason. awaits patch
-

yeah the critical animation kinda annoys me. Mainly cus it slows you right down.
If either of you guys have the PC version, head over to skyrimnexus.com
Mods have already started cropping up and I saw one that disables critical hit animation. -
Aside from a few graphical glitches I haven't encountered any game breaking bugs (yet).
Just finished the second dragon shout training exercise, aside from a stronger Haki blast, I now have super speed.
-
-
I've played for 12 hours and have had 0 glitches.
Guess I'm lucky.
-
Got my first Daedric Prince/ss quest, from Hircine. What a surprise, it involves Werewolves. I'm having Bloodmoon flashbacks all over again…
-
No glitches for me so far. So glad I didn't watch any gameplay vids or anything before it was released, everything's so pleasantly interesting and new. Love, love, love it.
-
At this point I really only buy one video game a year and I play the living hell out of it. Skyrim's definitely filling that role well. Everything's fantastic right now, but I do hope that at a certain point I gain a sense of familiarity with the game. Its controls and landscape are still a bit alien to me and I haven't really adjusted to them. Really digging the plethora of quests and the joy of bashing random shit's brains in though.
-
Found Sheogorath's Quest. Return of the Wabbajack, which is the greatest thing ever. Ever since his quest in Morrowind had you killing a Bull Netch with a fork, I had a feeling they'd have some fun with his quests. And hey, in Oblivion, you got to take over his entire kingdom.
-
People have been saying that the consoles been having problems but which one is the better one ps3 or xbox 360? I Know the PC version is the best but I don't have a video gaming laptop,
-
I'm playing on 360 and I've yet to encounter any bugs.
-
I'm playing this on the 360 and aside from a few graphical hiccups it's been nothing but smooth sailing.
