What a fantastic episode.
! I did not see that twist coming at all! Totally blew my mind.
! I will never be able to watch an episode with the City Wok the same way again.
I love Butters-centric episodes, and this one did not disappoint!

For the awesome.
That episode was awesome.
! I didn't expect that twist either. Sure, I knew something like that was bound to happen, but that was the very same person all along … woah.
Finally a good episode in this season after all. Ending from Psycho was kinda predictable after some time, but at least they didn't go for some lame spoof of the latest blockbuster or other popculture bullshit.
i didn't laugh once. Not even sure it was entertaining..
For the awesome.
This is off topic, but that was the only scene of that movie that managed to send a chill down my spine.
It was a pretty good episode. Wouldn't say it was the best of the season nor the worst. But still good. I was actually expecting something from Prof Chaos in it too.
i didn't laugh once. Not even sure it was entertaining..
I don't get you people. The last two episodes have been brilliant.
T'was decent enough. But funnybot remains the best of the season.
Anyone know if they'll do another anime/manga style show like Fun With Weapons? That sh!t was funny.
I don't get you people. The last two episodes have been brilliant.
I'm a south park fan sure enough but for some reason i just didn't find the episode funny. I was only slightly entertained, its certainly not an episode i'd watch again. But the crack baby one was pretty good.
Fun With Weapons is probably my all time favorite episode. It's muddled in the top 5. I'd like to see them top it if they try something like that again.

Don't worry, that was meant sarcastically. I wasn't serious.
I think theres a lesson in tonight's episode for all of us.
I'm… not sure what I just saw.
If it was the second half of the season, that could have almost been their final episode just now.
It's... not... and there was no resolution, so I guess they'll get back to it after the break? Has there been any confirmation on a 16th season? Might they being doing something... different... for the last last handful this year?
Great episode, and it really hit home especially for us forum-goers.
But wow, that ending. Not sure what'll happen now. Is this Matt and Trey's way of telling us that South Park will be ending soon? Or maybe they're just making some changes to the show. I mean, they still have to at least finish the rest of the season, right?
Actually, pretty disappointed in tonight's episode. I see what they were trying to do, but…I just don't know. It didn't strike me as anything interesting. From the first part, I thought it was critiquing people's opinions on music and how people hear things differently but it kind of spiraled out of control in my opinion.
They seem to be saying what they said around episode 100, and again around episode 200.
"For godssake, we've been doing this show for 15 years. We've said and done everything we can possibly say with these characters, we're TIRED of it and we want to move on to writing broadway musicals and stuff."
For the record, Mr. Popper's Penguins really does look like shit.
Wow…
I didn't like the episode much in the first half, thought it was just a dumb shit joke about bad music. But when you really stop and think about it, it is very true. When you get older, life just seems to get kind of monotonous and you tend to be more crabby and picky about things. But what got me was the ENDING... I was like "Are they seriously ending the episode like this?"
Moreover, this is the end of the first half of the season? Do you really think it will end some time soon? Feels that way.
One one hand, it's a great look at the overwhelming cynicism in today's (online) world.
One the other, it's a sad look at what getting older can do to people.
I don't think that I have ever been so depressed by an episode of South Park. Or so confused.
They can't write the Marshes out of the show. Unless this truly is the final season. But it just won't be the same without Stan.
That smile between Kyle and Cartman showed how wrong things would be without Stan there.
I still need to process what all just happened.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Also, if they come back from the break pretending that none of this happened, and it all just "reset," I'm going to be super pissed, but I wouldn't be surprised...
Kyle and Cartman were getting along great just the other week with his moneymaking scheme and crack babies. hrm.
And last season they dealt with Kenny's constant rebirths.
hrm.
And we have to wait for like 5 months to see where they're going with this. It wasn't even a blatant "to be continued" at the end or anything. Just… a downer ending.
Combined with them being censored for the first time with the Muhammad episode... And... they haven't announced a renewal for a 16th season yet. They're at the end of of their current 3 year contract with this season. Could this really be it? Are they building up towards a final 6 episodes?
Or was this just a cranky one off?
They were sort of getting along.
Kyle was completely against him till Cartman was able to talk him into it. That smile though…there was no one else around. It was just the two of them....
I don't know why it bothered me so much...it just felt wrong.

I just realized the most important question:
Where is Shelly for all of this?
I just realized the most important question:

I think there was a shot of her when the Marshes were packing up all their stuff.
Anyway, didn't Matt and Trey also state that they were going to do one more South Park movie at some point?

Dang, must have missed it.
And I don't know about another movie. What I have heard is that their contracts runs through season 17. But I have also heard that Trey wants to leave.
For the record, Mr. Popper's Penguins really does look like shit.
truth.
also thank god for that ending. I wonder what their going to do next week. I feel like if they ignore all of this and go back to normal its a cop-out but if they resolve it'll also be a let down. But maybe they'll pull it off. Still i feel like a lot of shows could do with an episode like this…and then stop airing coughfamily guycough
By next week, you mean October 5th, right?
Because that's when the next episode airs.
Tragic I know. We have to wait all summer and part of fall to find out what happens.
Though, I will admit, I will forget all about this within the week, only to be reminded of it when the press release comes out for 1508 at the start of October.
ugh ~_~ i thought we had a whole episode left. Damn well if that's that they should just walk away if they're tired. It'd be a very south park note to end on and they won't get the opportunity to end it like this again.
Christ, that episode was depressing.
It wouldn't surprise me if the latter half of the season gets to Morel Orel-levels of soulcrushing.
On other boards I lurk on, this shit has people seriously rethinking their lives, it's really sad.
The episode was alright.
Looks like the "Tween Wave" aka "Dubstep/DnB" joke went over everyones head.
I'm digging the new direction for the show. Change is good, plus I love cliffhanger endings.
Well.
This episode proved that South Park still has it.
They pretty much tackled trolls and Negative Nancies (i.e. Debbie Downers lol) AND the concept of getting old and drifting apart from: friends, family, and even significant others.
I guess it's a great episode for perspective… since I've always felt as if I was on the opposite side of the spectrum (for the most part mind you) and I never understood how people can be so... depressingly cynical, like Stan became.
The visual of everything being literal shit (including music) is comedic genius, I wouldn't be surprised if the episode was nominated for an Emmy or something crazy like that (we've seen pretty wild episodes get nominated before); but at the same time I DO wonder what people, who are like Stan, think of this episode and how their potrayal (lampooned as it may be) actually sits with them.
If they can get past the visual of shit spewing shit all over more shit :V
Woah, that ending. I swear to God, if they just decide to continue like this episode never happened I'll be pissed. But then again - how are they going to continue? A lot of things felt like the end of the whole show would be very, very close. But they still have at least 7 episodes to go. Argh, great, they really got me now. I wanna see the next episode so much.
No reason to change Akumu ;D
No reason to change.
Incredible episode. Wonder where they're gonna go from here.

Terrance and Phillip in… Lord of the Fart Rings: The Two Assholes.
… I'm ashamed of myself. I had to rewatch the episode to notice hoodless Kenny. Damn.
Damn…..the new episode just blew my mind.
I'm watching it now. Since when has South Park been able to say "shit" uncensored? I know there was that one episode where the plot centered around it but I thought that was a one time thing. I also could have sworn I heard an uncensored "fuck" too.
So I watched the new south park episode.
Wow.
I mean, wow.

If you watch it online it's ALWAYS uncensored.
If you watch it on TV after midnite Comedy Central allows "Fuck" to be used.
"Shit" has always been open on Cable programming since that silly NYPD Blue episode.
"Shit" has always been open on Cable programming since that silly NYPD Blue episode.
Yeah, they even dedicated an entire episode around the new found allowance of the word "shit" (The one where they actually had a counter for how many times it was used).
Quite enjoyed that episode. I can't wait to see how they follow up on it. Cartman at the start was brilliant. And once again Randy moreorless stole the entire episode.
Makes me feel kinda weird tho cus Stan's opinion on L.A Noire was almost the same as mine XD
It seems they might go the Venture Bros. route, and take a new direction with the series in fact If one takes what Sharon said about 'The same shit happens over and over untill it resets and it happens again".
Maybe Trey and Matt just want to take a new direction with this series, and are tired of the same 'shit' happening. But its more than likely they will find a resolution this fall.
I'm interested.
I have to say that this season was an utter disappointment, but I'm shocked by the emotions that this finale left me with. The fact that an episode of South Park can do that is simply stunning.
First of all I enjoyed this episode because I feel that myself and the people I know all complain about everything new, and this was the perfect satire of that. Once again, Stan has a problem that needs to be fixed, and Randy is being stupid and adventurous once again. What shocked me was the swerve ending, where the problems were not resolved at all. Stan is being shunned by his friends, Kyle is becoming friends with Cartman, and Randy and Sharon are divorced. I truly felt this was the first tragic ending in South Park in sometime, and it's exactly what the show needed.
I'm really hoping the next season in the fall picks up from this as a continuing storyline, instead of just returning to the formula of parodying current events and fads. If this were to be the last season, then it would be a hell of a way to go out. Unfortunately I don't have much faith in the writing, and I can only imagine it returning to the same formula. Here's hoping they turn the tables and do something new.
I don't like this show.
The thing with this finale was that it went all over the place. Stan sees shit everywhere he goes now that he turned 10, and the doctor diagnosed him with being an asshole. So with that I thought that he was gonna group up with the goth kids or something who seem to have the same problem. Then Randy becomes "Steamy Ray Vaughn" and sings tween wave at the bowling alley and so then the story cuts to the old yokels talking about Randy shitting his breeches. The ending was weird since it was first South Park that I really didn't laugh at.
But like Steve said these new episode haven't really been entertaining and doing this is probably a good thing since we woulda just had another season of silly and unfunny antics (since they seem to be running out of ideas). And I too am part of the party that wishes for this to be continued when the season returns in October. It's a nice change of pace since I really haven't been entertained since the "Coon and Friends" episodes.
@Cheesy:
I don't like this show.
Can't tell if you're parodying what this episode was about, or if you seriously felt the need to just venture into a thread to say you didn't like what said thread was about. Aaaah, you remind me of a younger me on this forum. wipes tear
I'm pretty sure he's a troll.
Odd question but does anywhere in the US have the Series 14 Blu-Ray for a decent price? Since it doesn't look like the UK is getting it in the foreseeable future (probably cus of 200/201) I'm thinking of importing but everywhere seems to be charging ridiculous amounts for it. I could go with amazon.com but they gave me an estimated delivery for sometime in September.
Incredible episode that made up for the rest up of this shitty season.
I admittedly teared up at that downer ending.
But didn't Randy and Sharon already have a separation in season two?
