Anything cannot be taken a stupid prediction. There are people who might think it is stupid, but that doesn't make the prediction itself stupid.
For the record, Luffy handling Jinbe on land is not a stupid prediction. What is the point of taking two years 2 train if he's going to struggle before he even makes it into the New World?

Strangely enough the focus for me in this chapter have been Robin's words, as I can't seem to forget them. Other than that yeah, naturally the last page and Jinbei taking a stance. A stance which, even though I understand the point Jinbei (and perhaps with him Oda) tries to make, in my eyes is totally off.
So I am interested to see if this will really turn out to be a small skirmish, which would in a way really looked childish in this situation and moreover stupid.
In the end I must say the biggest shock for me was the capture of Zoro. I get the disadvantage part again and him running out of air, but still in a way it downplays all the training Zoro did, in sense that he should not get in that kind of situation where he can "lose" in the first place.
In such events I often think of his words to Luffy back in East Blue after being defeated by Mihawk: "I will never lose to anybody from now on…"

Discuss the chapter, as opposed to whining and complaining about what's being discussed, regardless of how you choose to do so. There're these kind of Sea Kings and there're the Sea Kings that Shirahoshi summoned 10 years ago. They're not equal neither in size nor strength.

I think when he said that he was thinking of full-on duels and battles. In this one he just got captured when he ran out of oxygen and was completely helpless.
Doesn't really downplay his skills, kuina got killed by stairs and she wasn't exactly a pushover. Roger died because of sickness … being a badass fighter and training all your life doesn't defend you against human weaknesses.

Let's see if Oda gives her fleurs clothes later, kind of like logias transforming their clothes with their devil fruits for the sake of not going hentai.

Why would it be just a "pretty picture"? why would Oda draw another Robin without her? He could just draw her making hands with her DF and that's it. No need to draw another Robin who uses the ability. Especially since most of the Strawhats in the colorspread are showcasing new abilities.
Hopefully now it's been shown, people will understand that summoning sea kings is a very dangerous ability. Not just one, but multiple sea kings.
I still think the ability is quite random. So is it genetic or something, because the princesses only have it? It can't be because she cries a lot - other peple cry too. Anyway I can't imagine Shirahoshi controlling them fully during this arc… I think VDD will get what he wants and will become a very dangerous villian if he somehow gains the ability. Either that or he'll end up fighting Sanji and losing. But still, I'm half expecting Hodi (steds) and VDD (sea king ability) to become two worthy opponants for an improved Straw Hat pirates.

So that was the reason Jinbe didn't want Luffy to fight Hordy, huh? Oh, well, there goes all my theories. Too bad, it feels like Hordy will be nothing but a situational villain right now :/
And, man, I was so hyped for Fishman Island, but it really is not living up for it. I am missing the "look at this completely new and marvelous world" feeling that Oda so perfectly did with Skypiea. All in all, it looks exactly like any other place, all the magic is lacking here (although this had to be done many chapters ago, obviously, not now that we are already presented to the island).
I guess were expecting way to much for such a long hyped place like FI, access timeco. I also imagined it all to be its own little world with so many new stuff for us and i also agree Skypia was there better, but still Oda is always able to surprise us and FI is afterall not bad.
I guess after the arc is done we should re-read the chapters and it will give us another vibe as we have right now.

It might have been a pleasant surprise 2 years ago, but after the training Luffy and Co. went through, they are all naturally a lot stronger.
The point of the training was to prepare them for the New World. A place they haven't even made it to yet. So for them to struggle now, it would be a sign that they still aren't strong enough.
As captain, Luffy should be stronger than all of the Warlords. Except, perhaps, for Mihawk. The only one he should currently struggle against is Doflamingo because his ability will naturally handicap Luffy.
Also, at this point in the arc, the character most likely to join the crew is Jinbe. As a result he needs to be weaker than the Captain.
We're not looking down on Jinbe's abilities at all.
- Yet again, Robin only gets one page and it's ridiculously important. Hopefully she starts getting more involved soon. The big obvious question is "who's Joy Boy" but that only seems like the 2nd most important question of that page to me. It seems to me that the spirit of Joy Boy from 900 years ago was reincarnated and eventually became Roger and then Luffy, and the ancient civilization knew that this would happen. The biggest question for me is what the apology is. I hope it's more than just a burden.
I'm totally with Urouge on the reincarnation concept. Partiality to Buddhism probably has something to do with it.
It seems the Ancients were quite observant, prophesying the advents of Saviors. However, an even greater wonder of the Ancients are the creation of WMD named after gods. The apology may be referring to this most likely. Or, less likely, One Piece. Or Devil Fruits.

And Luffy has Haki trained by Silvers Rayleigh. It's only been 2 years of training (1.5 under Rayleigh's guidance), but I think it's safe to assume that Luffy can easily beat Jinbei.
Also, Sea Kings. Considering how huge the Sea Kings the ones that Shirahoshi summoned were, and that Shirahoshi can summon as many as available, she could easily destroy and island or city. However, if used for protection, her ability would be instrumental to protecting fishpeople and merfolk from human invasion when they migrate to the surface.

Thinking about steroids, Hodi taking steroids would making him a difficult fight just due to the sheer increased level of testosterone and adrenaline. But, excessive steroids leads to severe drops in testosterone levels, to the point that masculinity is inverted. However, I think Oda will just have Hodi fall unconscious from overdose. This means Hodi's opponent doesn't even have to knock him out.
He was shown taking a hit by Jimbe in one panel, and then we saw nothing of what happened next on that fight, 'cos the focus was on Luffy trying to advance. Jimbe just wanted to keep Moriah away from Luffy.

So again, compare scenes with Luffy doing to Magellan essentially the same thing Jinbe did to Moria; a very powerful initial attack. Not to downplay Jinbe's strength, of course, it's just we don't really get much from that scene.

I hope Luffy gets a good beating before someone or something interrupts the fight. Not because I favor Jinbe (which I do), but if Luffy is now able to beat a Shichibukai-level character "on the go", there will be not much left to progress on. In my book the difference between a Shichibukai and a Admiral/Yonkou isn't THAT huge.
Remember, we have another 600 chapters ahead of us and I really don't want One Piece to end like Dragonball, where the characters are so powerful that you can't even follow their movements anymore.
So, my guess is that the 2 years of training were simply meant to learn the -basics- of haki, since Rayleigh said himself that it takes a lifetime to master it and most focus on one type because of that. Jinbe and Luffy will exchange a few blows, but Caribou will be the logia dummy to test his newfound abilities.
Nevermind Rayleigh said Luffy exceeded all expectations and mastered it in a year and a half.
Also, the fights with Crocodile and Moriah never happened.

Didn't the monster trio destroy those Pacifistas at SA? I'm sure those were at Shichibukai level.
He did not master it in a year and a half, he mastered the basics during that time, remarking that he seems to have a affinity for it. Tho I doubt he became a grand master during the other 6 months.

I don't think so, Hancock defeated a couple of them without breaking a sweat.

True he defeated two Shichibukai already, but people have to admit that he had incredible luck against Crocodile (nearly died 2 times) and he fought against Moriah with his whole crew backing him up. He also collapsed after the fight.
I don't doubt that Luffy can take on Shichi-level characters by now, but he should still struggle against them, depending on their abilities. A one minute "on the go" fight, like some speculate, hopefully wont happen.
