I wrote rhyming lyrics to the song. Pretty much something FUNi would do, ya know? Here they are:
Get up, before the sun rises we gotta go
We have a date with our forthcoming tomorrows
Don't look back no matter what we go through
(Oh, I know what I am supposed to do)There are many bumps and holes on this road we ride
But not even this road can stop the flame inside
Forever, it'll always be burning bright
(Fly to the light)Our bonds have formed through times we've all fought together (That’s right)
Anyone or anything won't stop our adventures (That's right)
I'll forever protect the bonds that we share
All I need is strength wielded in my hands! It's the beginning
Of a new world that has just started spinning
No matter what I do
If we're separated by sea I will always be close to you
The world is big, but don't worry
Never give up on your journey
Don't you forget that
We fight togetherOh, when I think back to that day…
I remember looking at the infinite sky and thought I would lose my way
Then I met you, and we have come oh-so far
And even though we're following different stars
We are all carrying the same will in our heartsThe sun keeps rising
And shines on your sorrows; a reason to keep smiling
I'll always believe
Broken fragments of the present will someday interweaveCome with me, I can't do it alone
You're unique, and I have always known
Don't you forget that
We fight together -
I gave adapting it a shot, as well:
_We’re heading out as the day begins again,
Toward a future remaining so uncertain,
But we chose our path and feel no regret,
(Oh, I know what I’m supposed to do)
Despite the trials that lie somewhere up ahead,
My beating heart will not stop while I live committed,
There’s just one last place where I have to go,
(Fly to the light!)The bonds we’ve built while deep in battle still stay strong, (That’s right!)
Whoever comes to face us won’t break a single one, (That’s right!)
When I unclench the fist I’ve held for so long,
I will find a new power arising,It’s time to begin!
The world beyond our own calls out to greet us,
We just have to find it!
No matter how the oceans try to keep us far apart,
I’m always there, right by your side,
You’re stronger than you realize,
Never forget that
We fight together!I’ve never spoiled the memory,
The day I gazed in wonder,
Saw the sky so vast above me,
With much more to see,
Up to now we’ve come along so very far,
Each with a pledge we’ve held so deep within our heart,
There isn’t a doubt,
Dreams are left still to carry out!The sun will soon rise,
Unlikely as it seems, it will cut through our sorrow,
I’ll always believe in
The future that will see us form one piece and make us whole,
Let’s go and find what we deserve,
I can’t replace the friends I’ve earned,
Always remember,
We fight together!_ -
Awesome stuff guys.
Now I have to make sure mine is different from two now. :ninja: accepts challenge Though I'm still listening to it to get a feel for the melody. -
Does anyone else think that the bit where Ace pushes Luffy on the back is a tad similar to Bellemere's push to Nami?
-
Man, I want a wallpaper of this screencap so bad.
-
Damn this song is so freaking catchy.
Well done -
The music:
I'm not a big fan of pop in general (jpop included), but the song is pretty catchy I must admit. The part with the 3 jumping across the rocks is a great climax and it ends nicely, then the song forces itself to continue in order to fill the extra minute. The song just feels awkward and forced during the flashbacks to me, though it finished decently. The animation:
Several low budget moments, but they still worked well for the most part. Actually, I like a lot of this opening. It doesn't stray to the outside world (cameo appearances) at all really, except Ace and Sabo. The rest is just Luffy and the crew, and it's handled well. I really liked the flashback design, even though the song was dragging me down at that moment. Poor Franky had Luffy asleep once and holding his underwear hostage in the other. Nothing else. I like the ending shot too. Overall, a good opening.! The hat thing and Ace pushing him in the back is actually really well done. Most people in Japan have had the timeskip stuff shoved down their throats for a month, so nothing is a spoiler for them really. Even for foreign anime only viewers, though, it wouldn't be recognized as a spoiler. It would just make sense afterwords and be even cooler. This opening won't run for all that long, but it's a great bookend for the end of the first half of the story.
-
the character part of the opening was the best. sanji and zoro look badass in the opening.
-
There were parts where the animation looked great: Sanji's training, and if the Background to Brook is beautiful.
The time skip should last around 17 episodes as long as we don't get filler episodes, so we should have this opening for that many.I wish opening 6, Brand New World, lasted through the whole CP9 arc.

Not to mention, Crazy Rainbow Star was one of the worst OP and it's also the start of no ED for One Piece.
-
I think Adventure world was one of my least endings, so it sucks they took it away.
I wish they would remove the Scene after the opening, because it saying "they will speed along the grand line today, heading towards the new world", makes absolutely no sense. Especially since Luffy is passed out and the crew is spread out across the world.
If they remove that scene that takes up a minute and a half, they could fit an ending theme back in. -

making a new ending costs a significant amount of money, though. They probably don't see any financial reason to.
-
Gecko Moria is the only protagonist shown in this OP
You M.A.D ?

Complaints:
They really have to stop showing Luffy just standing there for like a sixth of the damn opening. Luffy just standing there is the new Gorousei pans.
No Laboon for Brook? Why the Shadows Asgard scene?
Why not just show the swordsmonkeys and keep Mihawk secret? -

Right, I'm saying they could have added the humandrills while keeping Mihawk secret so as not to spoil. Not spoiling… monkeys with swords is dumb. They have Zoro running at a bunch of Negative ghosts? That doesn't make any sense.
Also Laboon is Brook's dream.
-
This OP grows on me everytime I watch it. I'm not putting down the last OP, but I prefer this one. I really like how this fits with where we are going, and I love seeing the early Straw Hat's moments reanimated.
Also it's catchy, I think I'll enjoy this one more.

I think what Redspear meant to say was that it wasn`t about Brooks dream, but all about his important first interactions with Luffy. None of the crews dreams are shown here.
I think the opening ranks somewhere in the middle. The visuals are good, but it could use just a liiiiittle bit more action. I also like the music at the beginning, but after one minute or so I get a little tired of it. So, while that all sounds very negative, I`m still pretty satisfied with the Opening. I agree that it has this "it is the end of things" tone in it, which is cool.

This is really disturbing.

He fights alone.

And thus, Youtube ensures that McDonalds will never run out of fry cooks.

MasterKingJC, your video has 34 honors on youtube now, one is being #1 views in entertainment in Spain!
I hope the views and ratings for the opening continue to grow so more and more people can see it. -
I wonder if that guy is a member of AP.

Wah! I'm a little behind on my One Piece, but I just caught up today. I am not a big pop fan but this opening really fits the feel of this flashback arc. Unfortunately it's very catchy too; I keep pressing the replay button on my IPod.

Nice video but the song… I don't find it catchy at all. I need to find the lyrics... It's up to them now D:
I didn't like the 13OP too but after like 6 plays i started liking it.

… what did I just watch?
Uh. Anyway.
Damn, did that song grow on me, especially the first half and the last few seconds. Awesome. -
-
Great Opening, i love the part where Ace pushes Luffy towards the Hat, meaning go on….. sad.
PS: can anybody tell me how I can put that gif into my signature? if the creator is ok with it.

I keep wanting to post this and then get distracted, so I'll finally post it.
Awesome opening. Great music, nice visuals, really touches the heartstrings when you recognise every little scene.
But what caught me most offguard was Nami's crying shot. THAT is the sort of tears Toei should have drawn during the last episode where Luffy has all those agonizing crying faces. Rather than the solid whitish tears that made those scenes look ridiculous in the anime, they should have used these transparent sort of tears.
I am glad Toei shows it can do tears when it cares, but seriously… I hope they won't go back to the crappy style in the future. :(

I hope not, but you never know.

This is Toei you're talking about here. Unless the scene is done by some big name animation director, don't expect to see golden tears anytime too often.

I saw the Justin bieber shoot out as well. I lol hard at the "hold your fire". Honestly, I think haters should just ignore Bieber because he gets more popular and money with all the hate as well.
Back on topic, I love the part that starts at 1 minute where the trio runs toward the sunset.

Anyone want the romaji lyrics? I got it from a opening on youtube, but I had to type it out.
Don't need any credit or that sort of thing. It was a simple task.

Does anybody know if there's any edited version without the japanese words, creditless?

Does anybody know if there's any edited version without the japanese words?
Those usually come out with the single (they release the full version, sometimes the TV cut, and the instrumental version).
-
I think he's asking for a video of the opening without the kanji or credits on top of it. I don't think we'll get that until this hits DVD.
-
He meant the video. Does the singles include the creditless version of the opening video?
-
Something like this:
-
Those are clean because they have been released on DVD already…

Those usually come out with the DVDs, so you'll be waiting quite a bit.
EDIT: Ah, people answered it already. Well yeah. That's it.
-
I don't even think the textless versions are released on DVD in Japan… Although, I could be wrong. Someone please tell me if I am.
What I do know is that they were released with promotional merchandise in Japan. Right now, the DVDs are somewhere in Sabaody or Amazon Lily, and in late 2009 or early 2010 they released some sort of special CD collection which featured textless versions of every opening available at the time (going up to Kaze wo Sagashite). So that's where the textless versions of openings 7+ came from.
-
The scene where they show the faces of the SHs crew members are based on page 17 of chapter 590, except Nami's. Just pointing it out for those haven't know about it.

Actually that same chapter is in the newest American Shonen Jump and I just realized the same thing. Anybody wanna bet that they use that EXACT same footage when the actual chapter is animated?

I wasn't entirely sure i'd like it at first… but its certainly grown on me.. now i absolutely love it

No, not at all. I think it will be different.
