I've been of that opinion since they announced these, I'm pretty sure you're right.

RE: Funimation dvd discussion II ( UPDATED 8/4/12, FIRST POST FOR F.A.Q)
@Gentleman:
I think they check for availability of an order every two weeks, so backtrack in your inbox to the last "We're Working on it" e-mail and add two weeks to that total. I'm somewhat bummed because according to that math, I won't be getting mine until at least Saturday.
So I take it if I preordered it now it wouldn't end up shipping out any earlier? I was contemplating placing an order from them today, but I figured the opportunity for getting it before 07/26 was gone.

Oh thank god, I was hoping it wasn't cardboard like the Voyages. I feel a lot better about double-dipping.

RE: The PlayStation Thread
I don't blame them, considering the pricepoint of the PSP was a bit of a hurdle for a while, so any way they can stay more competitive, the better. Being a hardware powerhouse doesn't do any good if nobody can afford to get it.

RE: E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) 2011
There have been some photos flying around from a supposed private industry presentation for Cafe, which if it is to be believed, confirms the next Smash Bros game for 2012 (named Super Smash Bros Shift from what I recall). I can't seem to find the photo, but it didn't look shopped to me. We'll find out soon enough.

RE: E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) 2011
Things I want at E3:
-An actual solid release date for The Last Guardian
-For Project Cafe to not be a zillion dollars/actually have decent third party support/not be just gimmicks
-To have Microsoft announce a new XBOX, even if it is mainly vagaries (ie not coming out until 2013)
-Finally hear what Yasumi Matsuno will be working on post-Tactics Ogre
-Alan Wake 2 announcementMost of these are pipedreams, I know.

RE: The PlayStation Thread
Here's hoping that with the return of the store, they don't make us wait to redeem the free games welcome back offer.

RE: The PlayStation Thread
Can't say I blame them. Portable games are predominantly consumed by younger players in the west, whereas most people in Japan commute on train/bus etc and have a way higher demand for gaming on the go. Why wouldn't they want to get the most buck out of their bang, and sell those portable titles to the west via PS3?
I think they've come to the realization that the PSP has been successful in the west mainly in metropolitan/urban environments where people take the bus/subway system to get around, and have a lot of commuter downtime. The rest of the country just doesn't have much of a need for something like that, especially with the progression of mobile phone gaming. This is their best solution.

RE: What are you Playing?
-Playing Portal 2 Co-Op with the wife. Been a blast so far, and all the dialog is just as dark and funny as the single player mode.
-Digging into L.A. Noire and loving it. I still haven't gotten the hang of when to doubt people, though.
-Picked up a copy of Battlefield Bad Company on a whim for 6 bucks, and am having a surprisingly good time so far. For a 3 year old game it's still very sharp, and the controls are really pleasantly meaty. I've really appreciated the lack of pretension and the general rye sense of humor for a modern military shooter. The Tom Clancy-ness of its contemporaries is precisely why I don't get into the genre, and this game doesn't even bother with any of it. Dumb, silly, tight-controlling fun.
-Also bought another copy of The Darkness for 3 bucks. I got right to the end of the game back when it came out, and my original 360 red ringed on me, killing my disc in the process. I think I'm finally ready to give it another shot, 2 systems later.
