He ripped the meat from the bone and swallows it and we have seen him swallow the bone before to however his teeth are hard and sharp (he bites people)
Also don't forget Kizaru can eat and he is made of light,Caribou is a swamp man and pritty much made of Mud and what about Buggy does his devil fruit mean he loses his food when he splits the answer is it's just a manga and you should not take it to seriously.

Question: I don't get why Whitebeard waited to smash away the frozen ice barrier and free his crews. If he'd done that straight away the whole Squard thing would never have happened. What was stopping him?
-
The pirates need foothold to to attack Marineford.
And nobody thought of escaping at that moment. -
Any ideas what the roles of Garp and Sengoku will be from now on? Assuming they no longer have any say in the marines in terms of commanding seeing that they both retired.

Garp will train Coby and help him master haki…

So you believe for the rest of One Piece, all Garp is going to do is train Coby?
-
So you believe for the rest of One Piece, all Garp is going to do is train Coby?
Wasn't that what they were going for? Resigning from their functions, but still remain active withing the marines?
Doubt it'll be just Coby, but I doubt he'll play a major role again.

That wouldn't be so entertaining wouldn't it? XD
-
can Franky swim?
-
Yes he did so when he first encountered Luffy.
-
I think he can otherwise he wouldn't have reached the shore after getting castrated by
spankthat. Also all the times his battle frankys exploded.

I've been wondering this for awhile, why don't the Marines/WG put something like a border control on the entrance into the Grand Line?

Because it'd be unnecessary. The natural geology of Reverse Mountain and the currents flowing that rapidly already makes it a slim chance for ships to make it through, and the Calm Belt is filled with sea monsters. Merry-go got lucky.

yet, a shitload of pirates originate from one of the four blues so that slim chance you speak of doesn't seem real valid to me nor logical for that matter
-
A border control would definitly not be enough to stop reckless monsters like the mugiwaras for e.g. Moreover Reverse Mountain is not adequate to have fights both parties would be at huge disadvantages.
It's better to let them enter Paradise hoping weak ones die by the time they reach Little garden whereas stronger pirates chew out each other on the way or get intercepted by stronger marines as they approach HQ.Something like this
-
Besides, if they had a border control, it would probably be strong enough to have prevented Luffy and his crew from entering the Grand Line in the first place, which would kinda ruin the story…
Either that, or the border control would lose to Luffy and his crew, but then it would have to be so wimpy (they weren't very strong back then) that there really wouldn't be any point to them at all. -
The "border control" on the East Blue side is Loguetown. I assume that all the blues have such a place, near Reverse Mountain, where pirates can be picked off as they stock up to enter the Grand line. Also, you have to worry about the big pirate ships that can go through the Calm Belt.
-
Saobody being full of marines makes it kind of border control. That and the fact that many pirates end up there makes it so that they "border control" themselves, since pirates have a habit of getting into fights.
-

The rough ride over Reverse Mountain and the "legend" about it being the only (safe) entrance to the Grandline makes it the perfect natural border control, doesn't it? Not every crew may have a rubber boy aboard. ;)
And it's the same by going from Paradise to the New World: The route to Fishmen's Island is only for the
strongerlucky ones… -
After having caught up with the anime and buying all the domestic DVDs available (have yet to read through much of the manga), I was considering trying to tackle collecting all the manga but am also looking to do so as frugally as possible.
I'm sure there are purists who would frown upon the omnibuses (omnibi?), but seeing as it would cut the amount of trades I need to buy down significantly, I am interested in them. The only thing is, I've noticed that only volumes 1-12 (the East Blue arcs) have been released so far, and I see nothing on Viz's website that indicates that they're going to be releasing future volumes.
Is there any real info on if they intend to release more? It would be a great way for me to justify the investment but I don't want to bother with them if I'm going to have to get volumes 13 and on as individuals.
-
I own the VB for volumes 4-6. I can't stress enough how annoyed I was looking at this very unattractive book in a row with my other single volumes (a problem that I have since corrected.)
These are not quality VBs. The paper is a very poor quality - you can see the art from the surrounding pages threw the page you are reading which can be very distracting and frustrating. These may be more economical but in the long run you might regret the purchase (as I did).

Wow.
That's pretty much all I needed to hear. :S
-
I'm pretty sure they just did it for the East Blue saga in order to get more people into the series.
From what I've seen, the paper quality is pretty crappy and thin, but for the price, maybe it would be worth it?
-
How much time has passed since the begining of the story, i mean, Luffy's departure of Fuschia Village?
Apart of the obvious 2 years timeskip, how much time were Luffy and co in East Blue + Arabasta Saga + Skypea + Ennies Lobby/W7 + Thriller Bark + Shabondy/War? -
Chapter 2 - Luffy 17 years old
Chapter 597 - Luffy 17 years oldMake of that what you will…we don't know a lot of specifics on the matter.

Apart of the obvious 2 years timeskip, how much time were Luffy and co in East Blue + Arabasta Saga + Skypea + Ennies Lobby/W7 + Thriller Bark + Shabondy/War?General estimate is about 6 months, i've seen this question alot and most people agree on 6 months.
Apparently ( I can't cite this information, I just remember reading it ) it takes most pirate crews like 2 years to sail through paradise so they did it in pretty epic time. -

But we don't know, for example, it they stayed in Skypea 2 days or 3 weeks, no? In the story we only see "key" days, no? We suppose that 90% of the time is traveling between islands, which isn't usually very shown -
Here is interesting information concerning the time spent in different islands. Of course it is fan made, but it seems to be pretty accurate.
@JERK:
Why the hell do legions of morons keep trusting information that holds complete bullshit like this?
Who said anything about trusting? It's interesting, but I said nothing about it being right information. It SEEMS to be pretty accurate.
-
If Sanji doesnt use hands for fighting cause it would ruin his cooking why doesnt he wear hand protection epecially when doing moves that require the use of his hands?
-
That would make him less attractive with the ladies.

"NOTE: We have no idea how long they partied, but Roman Zeanom points out that "they get attacked by Sea Monkeys the moment they land on sea. Those same three Sea Monkeys sunk the Frog Captain's boat right before they reach Long Ring Long Land. So, they're not too far away." It is unfortunate, but it may be deduced that the crew finds LRL immediately after they get off Skypiea thus reducing the amount of days travel :getlost: In case anyone is interested, everything from the beginning of the Grandline to the end of Sky Piea is 21 Volumes."

@The:
I'm glad there's no main villain in One Piece. That's part of what makes Naruto so damned boring.
Naruto has a main villain? I don't think that series has had a main villain for a while. If you don't count Saskue, by the way Naruto's obssesion with Sasuke is scarry :getlost:
Here's a Question
Do you consider Luffy and Crocodile rivals?
-

I think that was made back when Orochimaru was the main villain, but I'm not sure.
-
I'll consider Luffy and Crocodile Rivals if Croc has resumed his hunt for One Piece.
Since we know it was his dream to be Pirate King at one point in time, thank you, Miss Goldenweek. -
Is it a bit wrong to think that before timeskip all the strawhats were still at the same age that Oda told them to be in the first place and after timeskip they all have just got exactly 2 years older (like zoro 19 -> 21, luffy 17 -> 19…), because their birthdays are in different times of year? I mean, for example Zoro could have already had his 20th birthday before time skip etc.

No, it's not wrong of you, because the alternative is way worse. "Lol, I decided just now that the voyage started in June, so for me these four crew members have all aged three years, instead."
We have to assume it's a static two years across the board until we're told otherwise, because there's no evidence to suggest otherwise, at this point. Besides, manga science is far from exact.

quite far no one here knows how long a one piece year is anyway :ninja:

Anyone suprised that no one of the commanders besides Marco, Haki and Jozu has displayed haki against Akainu?
Same for Iva. He is one of the top commanders but wasn#t able to hit Akainu as well
-

i think you have some names wrong… vista and marco were the only confermed haki users of the WBP and just because we've been exposed to haki users in the last chapters doesnt mean that every high powered fighter we see will have it. I think its a little more rare then your giving it credit for
-
I mean Jozu sorry, cuz he was able to hit AoKiji as well.
But seriously the doc said each VA level marine has it… The Boa sisters all have it as well + the fodder girls of AL.
Still a bit strange. Iva knew about it and couldn't do it. The commanders should be around VA level as well

Iva not being able to use it is the main thing I found weird.
But Jimbei fought Ace for like 3 days or something right? How the hell did he do that if he can't even hit a logia user?
