@1000sunny:
Looking back on the previous trilogy, I found that I liked the majority of most of the 3 movies. I liked the plot, effects, and all the secondary actors. The only problem was the acting by Toby Maguire and Kirsten Dunce was terrible and seeing as they were the two main characters it really took away from the movies
Hopefully they don't change to much from the previous franchise just hope the actors are better.
Mostly agree with this, however I did had some problems with how Raimi handled villains.
He never had them around for more than one movie, And this has become a common thing with Comic Book movies, the movie introduces a Villain, possibly his origin story. He meets the hero, they fight, the plot occurs, Villain dies, is arrested, loses powers, or turns good.
Spider-Man: Green Goblin dies
Spider-Man 2: Doc Ock was being controlled by the tentacles, fights off the influence, and dies
Spider-Man 3: Sandman and Spider-Man come to an understanding, he forgives him and he leaves, Eddie Brock and the Symbiote are both killed(Save the possible piece Conners had), Harry dies.
I understand the reason behind this, if you leave the villain evil and alive, he either comes back next movie, which could be seen as boring if you pulled out everything you had for the character in their first movie, or he simply doesn't appear in the next movie, and the audience is wondering where he is the whole movie.
With Norman, I liked how he died. It was like the comics, and it fueled Harry for the next movie, while also serving as a reminder to Peter that his new life will be very difficult.
Octavius, I would have rather he lived and stayed evil, bring him back the next movie where he could have begun resisting the tentacles. It seemed like he was the secondary villain, while Peter's angst was the main. We only saw a sympathetic side to him in the beginning and end. During the middle, he just wanted to get the fuel to finish his work. It really undermined the end when he got the willpower to realize what he had done.
Sandman I thought was good, this was a guy you do redeem in the movie, and him leaving at the end was believable. His story was good enough to tangle with Peters, he killed Uncle Ben, but regretted it. All he wants is his daughter to be healthy, and he had gone overboard on it, while at the same time Emo-Peter took it too far with revenge. By the end, the two come to a mutual understanding, Peter, while still angry at him for Uncle Ben's death, accepts that he really is a good person who has made mistakes, and Flint….well you wouldn't want to stick around with the nephew of a man you killed a few years ago.
Eddie Brock, well was killed off at the end with the Symbiote. Venom was handled badly, and everything else has been said, but was simply not handled right.
Harry....don't get me started
