I'ma wait for a Trailer/Teaser before deciding to watch this or not…
BTW Jet Li as the asian Side-kick; yay or nay?
Nay for me.
Seth Rogen is the Green Hornet
-
-
How about Tony Ja or something?
-
Maybe he can act better than he can write.
-
Tony Jaa please…
Jet is like 55 years old...no offense to him but thats a lil to old for a sidekick
-
:blink:He's 45:blink:.
-
10 over sorry

It's here. First impression is… not too shabby. I will give it a fair chance but i'm not getting my hopes up high. If seth rogen pulls this off... the world might just shatter.
-
Wait a sec … was that Cristoph Waltz there??
If it was him i am defenitely going to see this movie. -
So he's like a funny Batman? Im unfamiliar with the whole green hornet thing, is he supposed to be taken seriously or is the joke that he just makes jokes and Kano does all the work…cause it seems like Kano is seriously doing all the work...
-
Hmmmm interesting. Most of Rogen's films are a bit of a miss for me so I'm unsure whether it'll be any good.
Dunno what the Green Hornet is tho. I thought he was the Robin Hood guy from Justice League when I clicked on here.
-
You mean Green Arrow.
Yeah, I know absolutely nothing about the Green Hornet, so I have no preconceptions going into this. It'll be a blank slate. Here's hoping Rogen delivers.
-
This seems surprisingly good. I might just end up seeing it.
I'm all up for Seth Rogen doing a somewhat serious film for once.
-
isn't the whole 'kato' thing a negative racial stereotype for the chinese?
jet li did blackmask which referenced it a lot. wonder if whoever takes it will catch
flack for taking the role, or if they'll update the role a lot.edit: that was surprisingly cool.
to the person who asked, i watched a lot of episodes of the green hornet as a kid,
it was a completely serious superhero action-detective type show. like the batman
tv series without the unintentional silliness. -
The trailer looks good, I'm not saying get your hopes up, but the trailer leans more toward Kick-ass than the typical superhero fantasy world.
-
I too know nothing about the Green Hornet (before seeing the trailer I thought he was a traditional superhero) so this is all new to me. That being said, the trailer looks pretty good. Not a huge Seth Rogen fan, but it's possible that he could pull this off. My main gripe about the trailer actually is that they recycled the blow-up-the-camera joke from Johnny English.
-
Seth's been in a lot of awesome films, and this leading role could be good for his career. I actually like Pineapple express, Superbad, loved Knocked Up and 40 year old Virgin.
But, those movies were great for a lot of the other actors, hopefully the villain is a decent actor that can help the movie succeed.
By the way, I have no clue who Green Hornet is either, I remember seeing some really old comics about him a while back, like maybe 60's? But I've never bothered to read it, always hated these types of heroes. (Guns and pow boom etc vs the mafia)
-
seth is charming, and he did a semi-comedy, semi-action star role in pineapple express.
this seems in the same vein. -

Don't know what to think about the movie but Waltz is a big plus.
-

I'm 95% sure on this, but Christoph Waltz is playing the villian.
That man's an actor, alright. His Oscar for Best Supporting Actor agrees.

If memory serves me correct I believe bruce lee was the original kado ( or was it kato?) in the t.v series.

your memory serves you well, sir.
it WAS bruce lee. -
sweet that makes me want to watch the original now.

Just saw the movie this evening. It was great. I went in with doubts, but in the end enjoyed the film.
-
Did you guys see this?

Kinda pisses me off, I mean he might be right but comic book fans do that for a reason, and calling them fascist and not "normal" is fucked up. I mean having a crowd walk out of your movie panel because it sucks should give you a hint that the movie sucks not that they are fascist weirdo nerds.

So yeah…. the movie was pretty decent. I feel like an idiot for watching it in 3D.
Seth Rogen acting as Seth Rogen playing Seth Rogen as Brett Reid as The Green Hornet.
He barely had, if at all, any redeeming qualities about his character in the movie. By the end, he was still the same person, just toned down a tad bit.
Jay Chou was an excellent Kato. Hell, I've only seen glimpses and clips of the original '60s Green Hornet, but I agree with everyone else when I say, Kato needs to be the main fucking character.
Cameron Diaz did not belong in this movie at all. A completely forgettable character.
Christoph Waltz...he was funny at times, but they should have given him more screen time during the movie. It sort of reminded me of Kick-Ass somehow. Maybe it was all the dark comedy and over-the-top moments.
I liked it, I don't regret watching it, and I'll probably never see it again until it's on Netflix.
Also, the Gangsta's Paradise scene...the only scene I really, really enjoyed.
There's also a special cameo at the beginning which I liked that I won't spoiler here. -

Watched it, thought it was fairly good. Didn't like it as much as "The Shadow" though.
The 3D was useless, but the cinema I watched it in didn't give a choice of 2D.
-
I will see it within the next days and i hopehe is as good as my friend always tries to make me believe.
-
Had a couple of beers and went to see this with friends, I thought it was surprisingly good and funny, then again things are funnier when you're buzzed.
It was more enjoyable than a lot of other superhero flicks I've seen, personally I would watch a sequel.
My favorite scene was when they were beating each other up and wrecking the house.

Yeah the jokes were a lot better than anyone expected I think. And I wasnt buzzed when I went to go see it.

The best part of the movie was the car….that was a sweet ass car.
I thought it was hilarious how Cameron Diaz was supposed to be the hot chick. She's too old to pull that off anymore, they should have used that girl Britt Reid screwed in the beginning of the movie. -
I just got back from seeing it. Liked it quite a bit. My favorite scene was also the house fight, Kato has some mean kicks.
-

I respectfuly disagree. Women like Courtney Cox, and Cameron Diaz even at 50 would still be hotter than the random model they threw in at the beginning.
As for the movie, i dunno what to say about it. I enjoyed alot of scenes but overall the movie kinda fell a little flat. But atleast i know that Seth Rogen can still be funny now that he's skinny.
-
Was a fair movie, loved that 1 inch punch that Kato did. I am planning to see it again with 2 mates that haven't
-
Christoph Waltz is in this. So it must be awesome. But seriously, I'm glad he's getting a lot more recognition after IB, 29 awards! Brilliant actor.

The car was one of the best parts, except the bean bags were a little silly but okay.
Seth was horrible, he just played himself, sure i had a brief laugh or two but most of the time it was annoying. I enjoyed Kato's part way more and liked the few Bruce Lee references they showed.
I liked the style they used for the first conflict with Seth Hornet and Kato fighting that small gang(the car stretching into more and such), it's a shame they didn't continue use it more, the terminator vision throughout was funny.
The gangsta's paradise joke was about a decade and a half late to be funny for me.
The plot seemed to only get real focus at the end then made the rest of the story feel rushed.
2/5 -

Great as he is. He was really wasted in this film. With the exception of his death he was pretty forgetable

That was the part of the movie i liked. Instead of a spoiled kid starting out as a crimefighter and immediatly becoming the goddamn batman he is and still even in costume acts like a complete jerkass who just runs around kicking people in the groin and being annoying as shit. It's the straight faced part in betwenn that i felt dragged more than the general asshatery of Kato and Britt.

Ok. I agree that older women can be attractive. Diaz and Cox are beautiful women, however, kato and britt look much younger than she does (especially kato he looks like his 15) and by comparison it seems odd that she would the be the most desired woman rather then someone their own age. If the cast was made up of people as old as Diaz then the she would be able to take on the role of the hot chick better.
-
At 42, Kylie Minogue looks barely late 20s. Unf unf unf.
-
I gotta admit that this film was a lot better than what I was expecting. I actually really enjoyed it, it was very funny and the action was surprisingly good and actually pretty brutal for a PG film, lots of people being squashed by cars and such.
Loved the house brawl, the opening scene with a surprise cameo was hilarious and I actually thought Christoph Waltz was a very funny villain with the way he just wanted to be feared and thought of as intimidating.
-
The movie's PG-13, dawg.
-
It was better than I expected, the cast really gave it an edge for me. I'd rather see Rogen doing a super hero origin than the usual peter parker/kick-ass archetype
-
Kick-ass had a pretty unique origin if you think about it, consider most mainstream comics with superheroes, none of them are about a kid with no powers that gets his ass kicked by bad guys day after day but ultimately triumphs in the end.
This origin story wasn't all that unique "the billionaire playboy" but it was presented in a very humorous manner, and succeeded as a comedy.
-
i saw the movie yesterday and i really enjoyed it i liked the dynamic between kato and Britt (anyone else think this is a stupid name it sounded like a newzelander saying Brett ) although the picture cut out for 5 minutes at one point that didn't affect the enjoyment movie
also the 3D was unnecessary there only about 3 times you could tell the movie was in 3D -
Just saw this yesterday.
To be frank, I didn't know what to expect. But it was pretty good, a nice blend of comedy and action.
! My favorite part was when Kato and Brett fought in the pool house. That shit was hiliarous.
-
Britt (anyone else think this is a stupid name
Where i come from it's a fairly common girls name.
-
-
Nope that's their whole name. Granted most women who go by that name are in their late forties now but it's pretty common.
Now Brittany would be some newfangled name only youngsters give to their kids to make em seem more special.
