      I really liked the first one, but I'm less inclined to get this one, I don't know I'm just not feeling like there are that many improvements, but then again I'm not that informed on it.

      ahahahahaha, you ARE naive.
      He said treasure.
      Now please god, get this right, what do you think the average joe thought as soon as he said that.

      Yeah, no, Whitebeard didn't say anything so vague. Unless Luffy is the treasure which makes no goddamn sense.

      See you don't get it. Luffy (or any pirate Roger inspired.) going around the world fighting the wrongs of the government and carrying on his will. Luffy's adventure is the treasure. That's what you don't understand and apparently won't because your having to much fun wanking in your troll thread.

      No he didn't. He inspired people to get money money. Are you seriously so naive that you think the underlying motive of 80% of the pirates is to get rich? Why do people seek the Holy Grail?
      And how many of those people are dangerous in of themselves?
      THIS is an offshoot of what Roger inspired.

      Or Fishman Island being under increased traffic and thus an endemic of slavery and carnage.

      Do you seriously think Roger only wanted them to live in defiance of the order?

      You're absolutely amazing.
      How many times now have you straight face ignored this?

      I mean frankly it's already over. This was technically debatable up until this chapter came out, and when it did you're faction died.
      Nothing your saying fits into this page. Nothing.
      You're caught in some bizarre time vault of logic that sounded more sensible in like…Volume goddamned 7. And instead of adapting to the widening view of the One Piece world you've shuffled all the unpleasent macro story details into some closet without trying to understand or really look at them, shuffled them so far back in the closet that you think of all those millions of details as just something to get out of the way before the "real" end of the story.

      Well wake up. It's not Volume 7 anymore, and all those macro story aspects are very much tied together with the One Piece legend.

      Wait I thought you said One Piece wasn't gold, but Roger told everyone there was money at the end of the grand line? I see the foreshadowing stacking that it's a crazy war bringing, world changing device but as Luffy has gotten further and further down the grand line he is becoming that very thing.

      Because NO civilians were harmed by the tons of rampaging pirates. And ALL marines are evil for that matter. Yep, Roger is truly a good man for leading thousands, possibly millions, of innocent people to their death, destroying world order and ruining countless other live, so that a few people could have fun. Riiiiiiiight. And have yo even read the story. It's been outright stated the treasure is something that would be found and lead to a war. Explain how that makes sense given your theory

      No there are good justice seeking Marines, they are just few and far between. Even without pirates, civilians were being enslaved and discarded as trash by the decedents of the government's founders… Why in the world would someone want to disrupt this system?

      Remember when I went on an adventure for the sake of having fun, and then my brother died?

      That was great.

      It's the grand line, shit happens.

      @JERK:

      Roger spurred millions of people to have essentially…..fun....by telling them of a treasure, thus inciting millions of people to go become maimed, enslaved, dead, and rampage encroaching on one point in order to.....have a tiny few people like himself apparently enjoy themselves doing something that would be second nature anyway, which also involves death and destruction and upsurping of world calm and order...

      ...so they could find out what they already knew? That they were adventurers?

      This is what you actually believe.

      Roger inspired people to travel a world filled with beauty and danger and to defy an obviously corrupt government in order to life their lives as they saw fit. Of course the journey is challenging, otherwise how interesting would it be.

      It's very possible that the plot leading into the ancient weapons and void century can be dealt with before reaching Raftel, with that final island being less of a vs. Marine arc and more of an adventure arc, like Skypiea/Fishman Island

      @JERK:

      It WILL be something material. I said it in the OP for a reason. But evidently some people don't like reading things.

      It WILL be. Foregone conclusion.

      What baffles me above all else with guys like this is how you don't understand the abslute fundamental tenant of practically all storytelling.

      That the material doubles for and can cause meaning.

      It always seems like this sort of thread breaks down to a lecture about babies first literary techniques, I'm thanking god I'm not planning on becoming an English teacher because apparently things I took for granted as common sense sure aren't.

      The main themes will be wrapped around the One Piece and it will no doubt be a tool or catalyst for Luffy truly fulfilling his, Roger's, Shank's and the likes vision of an ideal world. A force that marshalls the major opposing forces around the world into a final conflict, and it's Luffy's ideals that will come out on top.

      This isn't personal. It's universal themes being played with.
      How someone can conclude it's a pile of treasure and a sense of satisfaction is absolutely beyond me, it requires complete numbness toward pretty much the whole macro story and all the various themes involved.

      Okay so One Piece MUST be a WMD or a major Wikileak, because anyone who thinks otherwise is an infant. Because One Piece is a manga for learned MEN and can't possibly fit into a shonen genre where themes such as friendship and willpower triumph over the status status-quo.

      @Robo:

      My problem with all of this is, why would Roger care so much? Why does it matter to him if a bunch of people go out on a journey and see the world? Sure, you could say it's a gift to people, but I'm sure there are far more pirate failures who completely ruined their lives in pursuit of One Piece than there are successes.

      That's why I believe its the Reoponeglyph. Roger did it to change the world. When somebody finds One Piece they'll learn of everything that the world government has done and fight back against them.

      I can agree with that on the level that Roger wanting to lead people the answers about the Blank Century, but his reasons for doing so are much more basic. We've seen that Roger started out very much like Luffy, a boy willing to do anything to get out onto the sea and have an adventure. Whatever Roger found out about the government happened during his adventures. The evidence of wrong doing wasn't the treasure he left for the great pirate era, he sent all those dreamers out to the sea to have the same kind of journeys that he once had. In the end Sickness took Roger, not the government, he even left his only son in the care of a high ranking officer. So I doubt that he is as eager to expose the government as say Dragon, but he wanted more to share a lifestyle with a new generation.

      It was better than I expected, the cast really gave it an edge for me. I'd rather see Rogen doing a super hero origin than the usual peter parker/kick-ass archetype

      No doubt many have said a lot against you or even resort to insults or other means of suposid arguments.
      While I can understand where you come from and have that opinion from an earlier ideal based on what the comics were at the time. Do you still hold this ideal after it became more apparent the amount of Blood being shed over it from Oda's direction.

      Had it been something like that would it be acceptable for Rayleigh to say nothing?
      Especially after the death of his brother?

      Based around the early comics it may have been viable - after this much time and the things we have seen I would say it would be neigh impossible for it to be something so basic.

      I'm sure we'll see some physical reward for whoever reaches One Piece, but I still think that it is an ideal. When Roger said "go and find One Piece" he knew that a great age of pirates having adventures would follow those words.

      In a world where the second half of the grand line is vastly unexplored and refereed to as "The New World" an age of adventurism creates a huge contrast against a government that goes about blanking up history. That's probably how the whole ancient history plot intersects with One Piece as a destination.

      During the War, we come across the "end of an era" of piracy. All the major players in the war fought an ideal. Luffy, the new world captains, and the whitebeards all fought for their companion, Ace who was the last of Roger's legacy. Whitebeard protected this legacy with his life, when he said "One Piece Exists" I feel it was less about "yes there is a physical reward for reaching the end of the grand line" and more along the lines of "the great era of piracy won't end today."

      There isn't much world wide info on how the world stage of piracy is doing, but it's most likely still similar to two years ago where pirates search for One Piece as a means of fulfilling their dreams.
