But, to see a man driven to crazyness because of drug addiction isn't overdoing it a bit?
Or dependant on those drugs?
Drugs that shave away his life?
Why is that overdoing it?

I think that, thematically speaking, having a drug addicted character is kinda heavy. BUT, if that addiction was provoked by another villain in orther to keep him in check. . .hell, that's even going further.
I don't remember these adult themes on OP, although I may have to re-read again.
You may say rumble balls, but they don't create an addiction on the user.
Anyway, we are just speculating that Hodi MIGHT be addicted in order to justify his use of physical strength amplifying drugs in order to take a fodder pirate. His liutenant's line could mean something like that, but we're not sure at all, and seriously, he looks more like taking his body constantly on the verge of death cause he don't care what happens to him as long as he can keep Arlong's message, and avenge Fisher Tiger and do all that stuff he wants to do.
Turning this into a drug addicted guy who depends on the substance he consumes, so a bigger shcheming under the scenes villain is providing him with said drugs in order to keep him wrecking havoc to fulfill said villain's dark plans. . .
It's taking it a step forward, in a pretty dark direction that's unexplored land for OP. That's why I said it would take Oda a lot of balls to take that route.
I'm gonna throw my hat in to the ring and say Hodi > Arlong but Arlong wouldn't be = Fodder against him. I think without the pills Luffy> Hodi but with pills Luffy >= Hodi. Underwater Luffy<= Hodi. Also to the people saying ridiculous things like Absalom > Ryumma calm down.
@ Kouch- Calm down about the drugs. It's really not that big a deal and if Oda gives Hodi some sort of breakdown moment where he cries because he can't overcome his addiction it'll be stupid and out of place but we'll give you a cookie, honest.
Save your big upper-case whats. I didn't say he would beat those people did I
Yeah, you didn't say that. You just implied that he could. Even taking on people like that now would dump.
–--------------
Anyway, not sure if this was mentioned, but Icaros said: "Boy did we get our hands on a treasure, the evil drug E.S".
Now the first part would imply that they got it recently (and maybe stole it). The second part could imply that they've already known about the existence of these drugs but couldn't get it.
Just thought of mentioning this.
I didn't like how Hodi Jones got powerfull. He inteded to say he could rape that Gyro guy just with his mouth?
Ok, now i´m gonna make yaoi with those two, just because of that >3<
Does someone else thinks that Hodi was on Impel Down two years ago? He´s using (apparently, it may be another) one of the level five wolves around his neck
!
@vlad:
but we already know the side-effect of the drug; it shortens someones life
so that gecko moria stuff won't happen…or do you think he'd die of old age just infront of our eyes ^^
hodi Jones only needs 7 pills for to be so stronger as 1280 humans, Moria in shadow asgard had the strength of 1000 humans and nightmare luff only had 100…
Ok, now i´m gonna make yaoi with those two, just because of that >3<

I don't know, the snout looks a breed of Dog whose name I've forgotten.
Also, is Zeo shirtless and then wearing a kilt or something?
Bet you 500 million beris that they find Zoro with the mermaid princess lol.
edit: If the mermaid princess has black hair imma cry :( Hancock had black hair, shirley had black hair, the most beautiful mermaid in existence better be blond lol.
i wonder why Zeo has 02 on his shirt/dress. where is 01!?!?
also has anybody noticed the tattoes on hodi jones, he's got arlong's tattoo, and quite a few others, wondering what that means? where arlong and hodi all in the same crew before? and was jimbei their leader?
Uh yes. Arlong, Hachi, Kuroobi and Chu (I think) were all part of the Sunny Pirates working under Fisher Tiger and when he passed away, Jinbe.
Or did you completely miss Amazon Lily's explanation of the Sunny Pirates???
He said they will send all humans to the bottom of the sea. Isn't it a threat of killing them all ? And the NFP jolly roger seems tu corroborate this.
Yeah, I guess you are right. But so did Enel almost cause genocide - no, he technically DID with Bilka, and yet he was redeemed anyway in a cover story. I think that as long as he doesn't outright kill a character onscreen there's a possibility.
There are many ways this arc will go, but if I recall correctly, many suspected Lucci wasn't the final boss of Enies Lobby, yet he was, I think Hodi is gonna be the main villain of this arc. But I think there's gonna be a lot at play we still don't know about, like Caribou, Deckem and the Kingdom
You can't compare Lucci to Hodi. Lucci was undercover and I don't think anybody could predict he was the villain until we saw he betrayed Iceburg. Once he did, it was clear he was extremely powerful and most likely going to be the main villain. TBH he wasn't even the main villain, Spandam was.
I'm just not convinced that an arc that has been built up since Water7, and planned since EB is going to boil down to evil fishmen vs. good mermen and good humans.
By the way, if I'm not mistaken hammerhead sharks are the only ones to attack people on their own will, being not provoken to do so.
You are mistaken. It's not uncommon for many different kind of sharks to appear at shipwrecks. The exception is the great white, which specializes in seals and only attacks surfers out of confusion. Bull sharks attack humans far more often because they swim up rivers where there are a lot of humans and thus have more encounters with them. Although the reason female bull sharks to swim up rivers is because that's where they reproduce and it might just be defense of their offspring.
Usually if an animal starts to kill or eat humans, it's because they are injured and can't catch their normal prey, so they have to resort to eating humans - an easy catch.
well idk if anyones said this but I think octopus guy will tell his the rest of new fishman that he saw the SH's near mermaid cafe and chopper and sanji will fight some of them, sanji will lose massive amounts of blood when he sees where he is but still win epicly

Dude it's obvious that Luffy's gonna own Jones and then probably provide him with blood so that he can survive. He'll show them all what a real man is like and set the new fishman pirates on the right path. That way jinbei'll be happy, the citizens of FI'll be happy and Luffy can show off some more of his uber manliness.
I really like the New fishman pirates and how they're unafraid to die. They're like juveniles who just need their energy pointed in the right direction. That's why they look up to fisher tiger and arlong so much it's cuz they need a role model and I think luffy will prove to be the best role model for them.

Oh fuck! Guess you'd even colour it XD
About the image, guys, that was supossed to be a joke only |::getlost:
Abou Hodi's Wolf, you just can't say they only breed on Impel Down, they MUST have come from another part of the world. That is if it's actually an Army Wolf's fur, of course.
They're never going to look up to Luffy as a role model. They DESPISE humans. If this whole blood theory happens that everyone is talking about, it'll make an impression on them - but they're never going to look up to him.

It's Luffy's greatest ability to make friends with anyone. Sure they hate humans now, but by the time he's through with them they might join the luffy bandwagon. It'd be a testament to how far luffy has come on the path to being a "real" man like shanks lol.
where is fishman district?? is that Inside the BIG bubble too???
Hodi Jones attacked Gyro Pirates in Fishman District, SEA FLOOR.. If they are Actually inside the bubble of FI, how can they reach the surface? because when they go through the big BUBBLE, the ship-COATING will be DE-COAT, right?

You're thinking too hard, they were definitely out of FI when they started fighting. The real question is whether they were 10,000 meters under the sea or 7,000 or w/e. That fight definitely destroyed their bubble so I don't see how they could have survived that fight if they were still at 10,000 meters.

I'm sorry but if oda actually goes down this type of route with the current story I'm start to lose respect. It's time for luffy to at least make an attempt to finish off his enemies. the previous chapter had the mermaid cafe owner saying that luffy was going to destroy all of Fishman Island. If he ends up just beating Hodi and not completely ending Hodi. his dreams his desires, his crew way of thinking. I'm be disappointed. Luffy is probably the only captain(in the one piece universe) to not kill. Lets see this timeskip really matter and show Luffy doing something he's never done before

yes, I think I am. :ninja:
but te location said by ODA in page 12. Fishman District, The Sea FLOOR, Around NOAH.
No, They are not at 7000 metres, except You wanna say 7000m under the sea still called "Around Noah"

ur lookin at this the wrong way. luffy punches ppl, he doesnt have swords, blades, etc. have you tried PUnching someone to daeth? its a long process, with many repeated blows. you really want luffy to fight an enemy, beat him , and then have pages and pages of luffy repeatedly beating the guy's face in? or do u want a magic spear to come out of nowhere and luffy will stab the guy. it would be the exact opposite of luffy's character developement for the last 10 years since the manga started, as well as absolutely pointless to show in manga.
Oh boy did you pick the wrong manga.
Not necessarily, Oda already has shown that Luffy isn't afraid to die. And shown Luffy will go all out to protect someone he loves or cares for. when already have a storyboard in place. Sanji is weak, the octopus merman (can't think of his name) knows somewhat of there location. he tells Hodi, Hodi goes defeats Chopper, takes Sanji tells Chopper to find Luffy there you go. I just don't want Luffy to defeat Hodi then say at the end "you were a good guy deep down, maybe we could of been friends" ….... LAME

What in the world would Luffy killing an opponent prove?
And when has Luffy ever done what you have just described in the post above mine?
why do some people think that the bubble was destroyed?
you can see clearly as it floats up that most of the crew are pressed up against the inside wall of the coating.
newsflash: Hodi said that he wanted them to survive so that they could spread the word of his might.
they couldn't survive if they had no bubble, because…y'know...drowning and all that jazz.

This is a Shonen. Luffy is the Hero. He will never kill someone to prove a point. He doesn't need to. Shattering someone's dreams and proving them wrong is all you need. As Oda said in an SBS, "killing their bodies is besides the point". The dead have no chance to change.

Showing mercy for the defeated one is the worst kind of treatment there is.

except Fishman District actually isnt in the same bubble with Ryuuguu Palace and Mermaid Cove
here's what I think

They had lots of time to escape and they were rowing while looking for the upward current so I don't thinking were anywhere near noah.

Somebody made this theory earlier, but I'm not sure who or where.

You should read page 12 once again. That accident occured in Fishman district, sea floor, around Noah. clearly.

Ok, my bad just didn't think they'd be able to survive being floated while unconscious in a bubble when there's 10,000 meters of sea filled with sea monsters.
so let's make something clear fishmen are avrage stonger 10X than human…so lets say HODI is 30 times stronger....and he took 4 pills so that makes him 480 times stronger then an avrage human = 4800 Douriki and if he takes even more pills he will be really really strong....
God damn douriki everywhere..
Atleast it's under 9000.
I don't know if someone else has mentioned this, but because of the prediction by Madam Shirley some people on the island will hurt or capture one of the SH. We all know that when it comes to his nakama Luffy will do anything to help them including destroying Fishman Island.

Fishman Island is somewhat exhibition arc for all the SHs to prove how much stronger they got. Really doubt one of the them is going to get hurt right of the bat.
Sanji…almost died of hemorrhage.
Fishman Island is a dangerous place for nosebleeding perverts/okama.
Luffy will be one of the few humans either respected or feared on fishman island.
Oh look, one of those rare instances of Pacer being an absolute moron.
Here's some manga logic: Brook has no muscles. The effect of E.S. is physrepped by one's muscles pulsing and growing. Brook, therefore, cannot be drawn as having an effect under E.S. Therefore, it will not have an effect on him.
Edit: how does looking_at_you keep getting unbanned?
How come you are not banned you like bashing people and have been here longer than me.

He or Van Dekken could be level 6 however they could have come from level 5 or 4 as well and just got stronger in the 2 years.

4800 is only 1 pill away from being over 9000…
You know, wasn't it a plot point that Fishman Island was either moved or created under Marine Headquarters? After hearing that I always got the impression that Fishman Island something of a prison to it's citizens (though admittedly that's probably not the case for the younger generation).
I could easier see Luffy finding some injustice in Fishman Island existence, and destroying the island become a positive in a way–as in another act of rebellion against the marines. That is, assuming there's some way Luffy can do this without leaving thousands homeless.
Hey, could Luffy be badass enough to move an entire island?

I don't recall ever hearing that–can you find the quote you're thinking of and provide a link? I'd be interested in reading that...

Hey, could Luffy be badass enough to move an entire island?
Wasnt FI supposed to be in a hole in the RL? I mean it seems to be rather just on the bottom of the sea and by that..moved from it
s original spot.
And iam still confused how they get that bright light down there..

Fishman island is under the holy land the 5 elders stars and those nobles live.
It was peaceful until Gol D Roger started the pirate era because pirate had to use it to get to the new world.
I've been thinking about something for a while now. Just why is Fishman Island inside of a bubble? Why do Fishmen and mermaids need air? Perhaps the air is not there so much for the sake of humans as it is for the sake of sea mammals like Hoe?
@_Meh_:

Whales and Dolphins both need air maybe they are like them they can bred with humans after all if they were fish they would have a hard time breathing on land.

I think the fishmen hate goes a little deeper than the Amazonian situation. They were just unaccustomed and set in their ways of fear. Most of these fishmen fucking HATE humans.
Now you're theory on the other hand.. shakes his head :)
