I loved the little evidence of bonding between Luffy and Zoro :)
So Zoro, where did you get blown to?
I wish he'd said.
Zoro didn't you used to have TWO eyes??
haha yeah, i just love how nobody notices or cares about zoro having only one eye

He got his bounty after he beat on a marine. Here's proof:
He, was willing to harm the marines and had beat up other strong enemies (by east standards) in the past. THE MARINE SAW HIM AS A THREAT. If you don't understand this there is no point in talking with you.
I'm proud of you. You have just answered your own question :D Willing to harm marines. Seen as threat. Any real problem to WG as of yet? i see none.
Basically he hurt the marines and the marines saw him as a threat because of his strength. STRANGE ISNT IT?!?!
haha yeah, i just love how nobody notices or cares about zoro having only one eye
i also love how no one notice sanji LOSING HIS RIGHT EYE OMG he switched it with his left eye becuz he are aweshum
Good thing Zoro saved that Pirate Ship from the Krakken in chapter 599!

good thing they have to get a new ship, flag, and regain the urge to follow their dreams. :)

dont forget luffy's new badass scar
First Tri post of the night. Boy do i need 2 learn how 2 multi. Anyways i know caribou is level headed but he is way to dependant on his crew. People like luffy would just rush in (Enies lobby) and dont say its because ITS LUFFY cause i hate hearing that.
Sorry to hear you hate hearing it, but it IS Luffy. Luffy has balls, but he's got the strength to back it up. Luffy would probably be less likable as a protagonist if he was super-levelheaded and rational.
Caribou jumped on the ship, gave commands, and then he panicked (mispelt?) when he was out numbered. But his original plan was to just kill them which would not be successful either. But when its 1 vs 9 he gives up. that is y on earth i would call him a pussy.
We have no way of knowing the strength of Caribou's crew. We just don't. With two captains of over-200mil bounties, we can be sure that they're a notable threat to the government, but excluding the fact that Caribou's got a Logia power we have no semblance of their fighting ability yet. Had Caribou's whole crew made it on we don't know what the outcome of the battle would have been. Caribou, despite being a maniac, has displayed a fair bit of sense, so if his plan had gone exactly as planned they may have stood a chance.
Also, he hasn't given up at all. It's called waiting, dude. Waiting for a moment where they are distracted, waiting for his crew to come back, whatever. He never says (thinks to himself, whatever) 'I give up', he says 'I can get out of these ropes any time … But first I need to watch for the right chance to take them out' etc. Waiting doesn't make you a pussy. What don't you understand?

Sounds like a cover story
I think FI is now in constant invasion of bounty hunters and pirates kidnapping mermaids and fishermen.
I think Arlong leads a fraction anti human. His followers are fishmen who think that WB betrayed them by going on a war to save one human at the risk of their safety.
ANother faction might be lead by Jinbei that believe in peaceful human coexistence.
I think this arc might be full of twist, betrayal and ambiguity.
Yea, i have a strong feeling it will be that, plus things related to the world government as well (im telling you, there is a giant elevator from fishman island to Maraejois.:ninja:)
My main question for this arc is… Is fishman island just one big bubble? i mean there must not be water covering everything down there. Or maybe its like an underwater island in a giant cave...hmm.
I'm proud of you. You have just answered your own question :D Willing to harm marines. Seen as threat. Any real problem to WG as of yet? i see none.

There is a clear difference in strength and threat…
He is a threat only because he harmed the marines not because he beat up the other pirates. Dude, if you don't understand by now, it is clear you are not willing to recognize this simple fact. We can stop discussing this cause you are either too stupid to understand this or you are too proud to admit when you are wrong, even over the internet.
Either way there is no point in continuing this.
P.S. it isn't just beating up marines but committing crimes against the government as well. Case in point, all of Ohara.

giving up was a poor choice of words. But i dont want the cliche of him getting out at the most inconvienient times like them facing the krakken and then he escapes or snatches someone or w/e

If I remember the air should be the same as Shabondy. They said that you can use the bicycles on FI as well.

im glad you understand because we obviously are not seeing the meaning behind each others answers :/
everyone knows he got mini magma fisted already
i doubt all his friends know…unless it was on the newspaper, cant remember
I did NOT expect Caribou to get stranded on the SH's ship. And Mohmoo just popped out of nowhere. It makes some sense I suppose but it was REALLY unexpected.
And no chapter next week? Boooo!
Yeah… Just makes stupid theories last longer when the chapters are that far apart. Going to be a fun two weeks...

you learn fast young one

Oh, and the "So it's a mystery current!" from everyone was hilarious .
Has no one really noticed the annoucement of a one piece 3DS game?
Holy crap, that was a good chapter! Too bad for the week wait
Methinks that Arlong's gonna show up again - due to the fact that Mohmoo was hangin around. I have a bad feeling, though, that Jinbei's gonna be a bad guy this time around. Remember back to when Luffy and the other inmates had busted out from Impel Down? Jinbei hinted at having issues with Luffy over the Arlong incident.
Jinbei hinted at having issues with Luffy over the Arlong incident.
Actually, this was confirmed to be a mistranslation; Jinbei was thankful to Luffy over the Arlong incident, not resentful.
@Tamaki:

not the place 4 that im afraid
I didn't expect the more knowledgeable people to say it was a mystery current.
One of my favorite scenes was reverse mountain. I was surprised and found it funny that Usopp and Chopper did the whole mystery thing.
Caribou getting stranded was great. Caribou isn't a wimp about it though.
He intends to go MGS style and take them out 1 by one. :ninja:
If Arlong is at FI then it will be sort of surprising and open up lots of doors for the story.
honestly? I didn;t like this chapter all that much, it just seems a little rushed….
just wish the crew would have a chance to actually talk a bit about what they were doing for the past two years instead of talking all about this sea current stuff.
While the whole sea current things was informative, but I found it a bit hard to keep reading idk there is my two cents
- CRAAAP! Why do we have to wait 2 weeks for the next chapter! No other Shonen series goes on this many breaks!
try reading hunter x hunter
and Jinbei doesn't have a problem with luffy if he did he wouldn't have saved him i found this chapter a bit of a let down it was good but not as good as the last couple of chapters and i really hope caribou doesn't join

Things are kinda hectic right now. I'm sure they will get a chance to once things settle down.
But yea… I agree. I want them to tell some stories.
i'm sure they will talk about their travels little by little to each other. thats how the group has found out informatin aobut each other for OP up till now. they wont sit down in a circle drinking tea talking about their stories
such as luffy talking about he was at the isle of women, and nami telling usopp she was on clouds.

That is what I assume also.
I also think, during fighting scenes it will flash back to some of their training on the islands they were stranded on, to show how they learned, and progressed.
Kinda like when Chopper went Monster Point for the first time, and it flashed back to him, and Dr. Kereha, discovering monster point. Really liked that, and hope more scenes like that come out of One Piece.

I really hope that's what happens. I'm not too fussed about flashbacks until we get to a good fight.
Hanging out for a 2Y Arlong. I hope he's more 'yakuza' looking now. With the sword. The big Sawtooth sword. That thing was badass. Sawtooth Sword was badass. The Sawtooth sword.
! The sawtooth sword was badass.
I don't know if anyone else mentioned this, but doesn't the color spread seem to be a reference to Dr. Seuss' "Oh, The Places You'll Go!"? The background and hills look very similar.
What does Luffy mean by "used to play salinity as kids" ? Is it a pun like Zoro mistaking it for "fire sword"? Or is there some game called "Salinity"?
Why does Luffy mistake the whale for Moby Dick?
So one of Zoro's swords is gonna eat Ace's fruit right…
I'm voting for kitetsu because it is a problem child. I bet it would have an interesting personality.

I don't know answer to first.
But the Moby Dick looked like a whale that's why.
Look:
!
I was confused by the salinity game also. Any answers?

whale for moby dick cause they both look like whale lol
as for salinity and fire swords, they were just showing luffy's and zoro's idiocy haha. luffy thought it was a game and zoro thought it was a fire sword lol. i'm guessing either in japanese or english the word salinity is very similar to a type of game or a type of flaming sword
Caribou's ship head figure reminds me of monster chopper and that reindeer crew member from Databook Green.

I know. But Luffy specifically said "It's old man Whitebeard" and it seemed like he was waving. I am assuming that he saw the white whale, and mistook it for Moby Dick - which is just like Luffy.
However, Luffy knows very well that Whitebeard was dead. He even went to Marineford to apparently pay homage (but in actuallity, to send secret message to his crew) to the fallen pirates. So why would he say "it's whitebeard" and wave?

True.
I guess this raises the question does Luffy actually know? Or it's just an assumption made by the people here. I am more in favour of Luffy knowing then not knowing.
Also, maybe it is like you said, Luffy being Luffy. Like he sees something that looks like something else and just assumes it's that other thing.
I guess he doesn't actually bother to remember things if they are a small detail to him. I would not expect him to do the same thing with Ace as he did with Whitebeard here.
the pic where the pirate ships next to each other was dope. reminded me of all those old school pirate flicks and shows on how they board each other

luffy may have rung the bell but he never heard whitebeard was dead and probably can't put two in two together

Because Luffy isn't really all that bright, in case you haven't noticed.
I love krakens. I want that kraken to join. I don't even care if it won't fit on the ship. I just want it as their pet. Can you imagine the Marines chasing after them and then that thing just coming out of the water? Yeah.
Ohooo…so the ocean currents are compared to a dragon. I was waiting for the term SNAKE ROAD to pop out. :ninja:
Brooke mentioned about monsters, curse, and souls of the dead. We already have a monster with the Kraken, Are the other two hints of Davy Jones appearing in the future?

haha sounds too much potc-ishy to me
Caribou has good far sight vision. It must be those concentric circle eyes. Natural Binoculars. XD

Nami mentions the word "Salinity", which is "enbun noudo" in Japanese.
Luffy doesn't know what it is, but pretends he does by saying "oh yeah salinity, right, I used to play that when I was a kid"
And Zoro misheard "en(salt)bun noudo" as "en(fire)bun node" and said "I've always wanted a fire node", again not knowing what he's talking about.
It's a Japanese play on words.
I have to admit, some of my favorite fantastic imagery can be undersea horrors. I've always found the kraken and its horrifically large myth kin to be pretty interesting.
So I enjoyed the chapter quite a bit. This whole undersea thing has been a fun atmosphere to me anyways for what little we've seen of it and I can't wait to watch it develop more.
Lol is Luffy poking him with a stick? poor dude. And man he must be a real noob with his Logia is Sanji can bloody him so easily
