I think that this sort of "adrenaline" should be evaluated more closer because of all those highly-emotional situations she's placed in; near death, near death again, extreme loneliness, and so on.
She's yet to be put into a "normal" situation and that's the issue.
Furthermore, I believe that she's going to play her part if she joins-- she ought to be the "little sister" figure that is childish.
Oda doesn't need to "show" her past in order for her to tag along with them... He can "do it" later in the story, and connect it to some "future event" that they may need to deal with later on.

I love one piece!
And I have this really cool theory that Perona will join! Now here me out!
Although she's away from Moria who she loves, like the strawhats, she'll be away from him for 2 years! Yeah she was an enemy, but so was Robin before she joined as well as Nami. All the female v2 members start off as enemies and slowly join the crew before a big arc happens and she joins! Now with 2 years with Zoro i think they'll build a good friendship and when the strawhats meet up she'll good with Zoro cause hes got no since of direction. When she gets to the ship Luffy will let her tag along for a while cause wants to find moria. But while with the strawhats, she'll get attacted! So yeah that my theory!

it have been proof that luffy will let those who he think is funny into the crew. pernoa will tag along with zoro and will think that if zoro likes her then he should like her too. pernora is more valuable then hancock, and jimbi and can attack anyone with her ghost. luffy would defentily want her!
not only that…..she'll be around zoro and learn haki from mihawk.

Overanalysing things is really bad when it comes to a children's comic book. Perona is just a spoiled brat. There isn't a single character in the manga who pity her situation or try to analyse her feeling, she is in this manga for comedic purpose, that's all there is to this character.

Unfortunately for your precious theory, "wanting her clothes back" is a terrible reason for someone to travel with the crew, and wouldn't stick in the long run, particularly since they're travelling to the New World. You know, the place where islands defy the laws of nature and are perpetually threatening in most cases that we've seen, and I'm sure you remember how Perona explicitly ran away from Moria solely because she herself was put into danger.

AGOG is a user who wrote essays (I'm not exaggerating, literal essays) on the subject of Perona joining, basing them on throwaway gags and scenes which he interpreted in nonsensical, horribly incorrect ways (ex. claiming that she cared about Bearsy when their interactions were entirely abusive and she never considered him as anything more than a personal slave).

I don't believe any of them will become a part of the Mugiwara Crew. I could give an argument for all three as to why any of them could be a part of the crew, but I am too tired.
Now, I am by no means a Persona fanatic, but if I had to choose between the three, I would choose Persona. I feel the next crew member needs to be female. What has got me is, all the previously crew members have had a important portion of their past discussed for character development. Hoping Oda keeps true to every new member, I can only wonder how we will pull a sad past from Persona.
