To me, it's not a matter of if Oda is going to hit us with a Time-Skip…it's a matter of how long this time-skip will be.

I am already re-reading OP (I started when I finally finished getting the 54th volume). I am currently on volume 14 in little garden (good times) but I am also reading Black Cat and Vagabond so my Manga plate is plenty full.

Are you saying this like: "It would be cool if HxH returned this month", or like "HxH is supposed to return this month." Because HxH's return would be one of the best news for a while.
In my country, One Piece comes out once in a two weeks, so waiting a month doesn't sound that bad. Though we get a tankobon instead of a chapter. But yeah, it's annoying to wait for that two months. One Piece is an amazingly awesome manga, and I think there wont be any better ones for a long long time. But still, it's just this comic I like to read. It's not like my whole life spinned around One Piece and depended on it. And if I and many others guess right, this will be a prelude to the timeskip. Not that what Naruto and Kishimoto did had anything to do with One Piece and Oda, it just sounds logical to have a little break to get such a big thing as a time skip ready.
EDIT: And yeah, after seeing that comment I immediately posted this message, so I may have missed some earlier points or something like that. OP re-read sounds good to me. Will be my third time. I mean when I read 'em chronologically.

I think people are taking this time skip to lightly. The ENTIRE series (almost 600 chapters) is less then a year (luffy was 17 in chapter 1 and is still 17 in chapter 596)
A 2 year time skip would mean the characters will age more from one chapter to the next then they have the entire 12 years we have enjoyed OP. 2 years is a BIG deal (not saying that the time skip wont be that long - I just hope it doesn't change the dynamic of the series or the strawhats interactions with one another.)
I would be worried if I didn't have so much faith in Oda.

YES! READ IT! It's an awesome manga! It's one of my 3 favorites (One Piece, Fullmetal Alchemist, and 20th Century Boys)
Also, in regards to the anime, forget having a "One Piece Kai", I want to see "One Piece Brotherhood"
I think OP deserves just a complete remake in high quality animation with absolutely no filler. They did 27 volumes of FMA in 64 episodes....60 volumes of One Piece could be done in like 130 - 140 episodes!
Very costly though...and at this point, I think One Piece manga is going to be like 1,800 chapters before Oda finishes everything XD...this is a joke...and yet also could be serious =P I mean, I also feel this recent arc has been the end of "Act 1" and that the New world will be "Act 2"...the only complication here is that I think there is a very real possibility there will be an "Act 3" after the New World.

I actually like the idea of re-reading the story in those 4 weeks.
Would be my 9th re-reading of the complete series (well, ID not so many times so far^^)
Could remind many members here of basic stuff that happens in the manga but always needed clarification for some (like when certain things happened etc)
Also this time you could specialize more to look at the smaller details which are just amazing and which always appear everytime you read again the story and add even more charme to the whole thing.
(like for example the melon-thing in Skypia which recently seemed to be new for a lot of you guys)4 weeks about 60 volumnes = 2-3 volumnes a day

Oda wrote those chapters where we find out teach invaded drum & ace is chasing him in like 2000/2001.

I definitely say it will be about 1 year.
Oda mentioned that Luffy would have his last adventure as a 17-year old boy and after that he will be 18.
So from 17 to 18 its a year and its the way Oda handles such stuff in saying Luffy turns 18 and so he confirms somehow that it will be a year of timeskip (when i remember correctly the source).Also 1 year is plenty of time for each SH to reach their individual goals and that the new era kind of forms itself enough.

well, in the anime, the marineford arc is moving at a tremendously slow rate like 1 chapter (or even less) = 1 episode so I don't think they'll get in trouble at all.

But I digress, I have almost ALL the Viz volumes of One Piece (sans the Jaya & Post-Enies Lobby Arcs), plus The Japanese Tankobons of the Amazon Lily, Impel Down, & Marienford Arcs. Even then, College life WILL keep me constantly busy and I can focus more on my studies, so this One Month break will actually feel like two weeks. Maybe I can have some time to dust of the old PS2 & pepper in some games I've wanted to play.
