Akainu just seems to act a little strange in the panel where he is standing in front of Bonney. I understand Bonney is bound and isn't a threat but I just get this feeling that he knows her on a personal level.

If bonney joins I don't see what use she would be for the crew except being fairly strong. But what the strawhats do need is a helmsmen, Or in my opinion a black helmswomen so the crew has some color in there. Brook doesn't count, he a bleach white skeleton, and ussop is like puerto rican or something

Well, I don't know japanese to tell if his conclusion about the "THEM" thing is right, though I don't think it is, since Sanji talking about making the male SH be more sexy/sexual than Nami and Robin is a very unlikely thing to happen. So maybe Aohige or someone else here who knows japanese can explain it to us?

Usopp is physically weak, yes, and I think he'll stay that way. Maybe he should stay like that. I personally like that aspect about him and it makes him easy to relate to. This goes the same for Nami. Plus, it gives the overall crew a more realistic feel (as realistic as can be for a shounen manga) to not have the entire crew full of supermen and women.
The rest of the crew are…monsters. Monsters I tell you. @_@ On the flip side, Usopp has amazing (inhuman) endurance and killer accuracy with his weapon. With the crew by his side he'll do just fine in the New World, even if he has to face off with an opponent by himself.
Edit: I notice how Usopp is supposed to be portrayed as weak yet he can survive tons of pressure being smashed against his face and falls from impossible heights. Well, this is a fictional story but I guess when you say Usopp is "weak" it's just regarding muscular strength.

That would be awesome! Ben Beckmen can hold Kizura with his gun pretty sure he imbueds it with haki and no doubt Usopp's Dad as well can do it. If Usopp can imbued his range weapon with haki be awesome and yet stay still physically weak so it doesn't destroy his character that be awesome.

Call me stupid if you want, but this is not the type of manga that let's stupid shit like gags disrupt a character's abilities. Sanji kicks Luffy for acting, nothing happens vs. Nami hitting him and there's a giant lump.

Edit: And no, I never wondered how she could harm Luffy, Oda practically said it was a gag when brought up in SBS. And the same gag concept applies to Luffy hitting Smoker/Ace, but that was a one-time thing needed for that scene to play out that way -

I always took that as garp himself having haki, knowing his personality makes more sense for him to say it that way. This was also mentioned in the flash back when garp was bringing Luffy to Dadan. He was carrying luffy by his cheek and Luffy was complaining how it hurts although he's made of Rubber.
