I'm thinking Zeff and Sanji from the THREE MONTHS they went without food. You're supposed to be dead after, like, one month. Seriously, unless they caught some seagulls or something they should be DEAD. In regards to Zeff, he could have also gotten a VERY serious infection and died from that.
You forget they did have food. I think there would be more of a case of a young Sanji dying if there were no food but there was and Zeff gave it all to Sanji as he just chilled with his treasure. Now given that Zeff is older and was probably in his prime or just off it him living for that long isn't that much of a reah especially when they show the condition he was in. But liek I said if there was no food Snaji would be the one that shoudl be dead since he was so young.
It was meaningless because you knew he would be bandaged up and doing just fine moments later. When Oda can't kill literal fodder, it makes his villains weaker and destroys any fear we might have for characters outside the main party.
Exactly how I feel. Sad thing is I've come to terms with this no dying thing and it no longer annoys or bother me, I'd probably stop reaidng the manga altogether if I really focused in it. I read the manga with no fear AT ALL of a SH dying, I laugh at the suggestion and even when I say another character should/will die I don't even believe it but its just at this point I want it to happen. I wonder if Oda thinks him not killing characters is some joke likePandaman appearances. The way that pirate at the auction survived after biting his tounge did have me amazed at how Oda just refuses to kill anyone, enforcing my assurance that no SH will die.
Death as it stands does not make a series better. It does not make a character a hero. But using it carefully and sparingly can help keep us as fans on our toes at all times.
IMO in this area Oda epically fails!!!! Yea ppl are getting some anticipation to someone dying now but the war is so (over)hyped and the death thing is so expected that even who will die has been predicted. Then there's always the chance no one dies which unfortunately I think is a solid possibility smh.
It seems more and more likely that we're heading towards a big present-day character death and Oda can smell our anticipation. He's going to have a lot of fun with it I can tell. But from this point on because of the choices he's made, there simply isn't room for any kind of fear or suspense when it comes to supporting cast members.
Thinking about it he should've killed a villain early on in the manga and then not kill anyone up to now. At least then we'd have one source to refer to and such an early death would be unexpected and we'd be a little more tense since he hadn't do it in such a long time. He should've killed some Arlong's crew or that marine taking bribes from Arlong or one of the Veggie pirates lol.
I think we should be grateful for the way Oda doesn't kill off anyway.
Have you guys seen the train wrecks of deaths in Naruto and Bleach
I dunno why you read those mangas. However, the fact that you think Oda of all ppl would do such a poor job at executing a death in OP says a lot. Just because Kishi happens to really be stinking it up with who he kills and how he kills them doesn't mean Oda would be just as crappy at it. As someone said earlier the way OP characters don't die after absurd things happen to them is just as annoying as how ppl killed in a poor manner in other mangas. Aso there's a lot of other mangas out there balance killing characters quite well like Ares, JJBA, Zetman, etc.
