@Aru:
I think you misunderstood me. I finished Mario Galaxy sitting on my couch, as well as most of other Wii games. What I meant was that other consoles have too much PC process in them, like installing stuff, waiting for updates, overly complicated UI - it can be a little overwhelming for a normal family. I know, because my brother's family is a good example - they use a PC, they know how to browse stuff, but they just don't get futher than that. And while they do love Sony, they still liked Nintendo for a much simpler and easy-going console.
I loathe Sony and Microsoft systems.
I hate when a game comes out I must have on one of their systems for the very same reason you posted. Seems whenever I load up my PS3 or 360 I have to sit through 20 minutes of installs, restarts, updates, ect just to get a game going or to start netflix.
Sure obviously if I used it frequently it wouldn't be like that, but because of how annoying they are, i shy away from those systems and thus when I finally do play them it annoys me even more.
Nothing more annoying than wanting to quickly watch something on hulu or netflix, ect and then having to see some update screen pop up. I bought a Roku, spent $50+ dollars on a different device that can't do anything my PS3/360 can do just to avoid using them.
The only thing more annoying is a pc telling me I need to restart my computer to apply updates it installed on its own. Seriuosly can they fix the "postone for x amount of time" button. Doesn't matter if I tell it to remind me in 10 miutes, 1 hour, 10 hours, a day, or whatever the options are. It freaking pops up again in 10 minutes. SOOO Freaking annoying.
