I apologise if this one has already been mentioned, but…
Harvey Keitel in Taxi Driver (to me) has a striking resemblance to Rob Lucci.

….YEEESS XDD Oh wow I just about died laughing.
P.S. Fukurou = Chris Farley
HAHAHA! Why didn't I notice that sooner.
Fukurou lives IN A VAN DOWN BY THE RIVER
not sure….
But I was in French Class the other day and learned the Belle-mere means "Step mom" in french. But that's probably already been posted......
It means step mom, but it also means "beautiful sea", I don't know if Oda did it on purpose but if he did congratulations to him for making a pun in a foreign language.

Uhh…underwater suits like that are pretty well known. Wait...is Luffy suppose to be wearing two of em? I haven't seen the episode in awhile.

Yhea, he has to be COMPLETELY dry or his Devil Fruit issues would be a problem.
Random Hick # 7643 may have inspired Luffy's fashion sense, but I feel that the character design was based more on Miyazaki's 'Future Boy Conan'; the hair, the naivete, the love for the sea, setting out to find friends (and Conan's Grandpa's dying words echo those of Saul!), not to mention the unaccountable superhuman strength. http://www.highharbor.net/thumbs/souleve.jpg
This is what I'm talkin' about
No…its pretty clear he was MAINLY inspired by Akira-sama's background character.
Uh, no, Buuhan. Please read the posts in the thread.
We know. Atleast I noticed it atleast.
And excuse me Buccaneer? This isn't my first time in this thread, I've read all of it. I think it was pretty clear that background character inspired Luffy.
It has definetly been mentioned before, but I don't believe I saw it in this thread, the Rudolph inspired Chopper, Soge King and Moge King.
I liked the Crocodile connection to Captain Hook considering the hook, the crocodiles, the clock tower and of course an opponent that just won't grow up.
Now of course we have Sanji and the little red riding hood inspired Hunter.
We know. Atleast I noticed it atleast.

no…....
Just because some random background character looked like luffy doesnt mean it must be based off him. There are a lot of characters in manga with a strawhat....
We know. Atleast I noticed it atleast.

The majority of people disagree. Go ahead and think it, but please don't say weird and contradictory things where opinions as evidence are concerned.
Jack White = Lucci http://us.ent1.yimg.com/images.launch.yahoo.com/000/009/583/9583914.jpg
Eminem = Enel
Elton John = Hattori
MJ = Jango
Mark Mcgrath = DonFlamingo (? debatable)
Eggman (From Sonic the Hedgehog):
Whitebeard:
Other than the obvious 'staches, notice how both men spend their whole lives trying to find a "great treasure"? (Chaos emerald, One Piece)?
Thats a big stretch…
Essentially anyone with a mustache who is looking for a treasure would fit your description...
Mark Mcgrath = DonFlamingo (? debatable)
I don't think anyone ever paid attention, but I once proved that, without a doubt, Polnareff is the inspriation for Doflamingo.
Jack White = Lucci http://us.ent1.yimg.com/images.launch.yahoo.com/000/009/583/9583914.jpg
I noticed that one too! while I was online with my media player and that guy popped out in those ads…I was like "hey its rob lucchi!"
wow, that is pretty close! he even makes the same face as Lucci
Yea I noticed the Rob Lucci Jack White connection at a concert originally, rather, when I first saw Lucci, because I had remembered how Jack looked during the performance.
I dunno, I mean Jack White isn't exactly original in his look, obviously he's been inspired by other artists, but I believe he was the first to rock that stache + hat + hair in that same exact fashion as Rob, I think others have done all of them seperately, but never together.
I checked every page, and I quite possibly missed all the spots where people pointed this out, but regardless, This Thread SO needs this comparison visualized:
Vincent Vega =
Right down to the damn ring in the right ear.
Woah, now that is interesting. So much for that one Arnold=Crocodile avatar someone on here has. XD
I was reading through my friend's Dragonball manga when I found this guy
It seems to me that most of the Franky Family may have been inspired by the Gyu Mao.
When I first saw that (I know hes Ox King) I saw Sogeking…
When I first saw that (I know hes Ox King) I saw Sogeking…
Holy Cow, I didn't think of that!
Now you've given me mental images of some sort of Zambai-Sogeking fusion!
And with the axe he also reminds me of Brogy and Dorry.
Pardon if this is bumping, but we should see more of those character look-a-likes. O.O

-Number 4 from Kids Next Door = Sanji
Oh hell no, I just did not read you comparing Sanji to that pathetic show.

I DON'T like KND, either, but that was just a comparison. :sideways:

I find it funny that even my little cousin, who is 7, hates KND. So that should tell you a show is pathetic when the age group which the show is marketed too hates the show.
Also that avatar you have is great. Got to love FMA.
You know who Sogeking REALLY reminds me of?
Not appearence wise… But just the way he acts and everything.
THE GREAT SAIYAMAN!
Hahahaha but I was just thinking that they are both very silly/badass characters...
Don't say stupid things…
Sogeking has already been compaired to Saiyaman, many times. XD
I was playing Final Fantasy 6 recemt;y, and there's a character who joins your party who reminds me seriously of Miss Goldenweek. She's an obnoxious little girl, who attacks by painting copies of your foes which then strike the real foes. The 'stock name' is Relm.
Also, (FF6 spoiler, not OP spoiler)
! midway through the game, tremendous forces are set out of balance which tears continents apart which somewhat reminds me of the "the Grand Line was a single land mass that got destroyed" theories.
^I didnt think Relm was annoying! =O
But yeah I noticed the similarity awhile ago, too.
Sogeking has already been compaired to Saiyaman, many times. XD
I remember that April Fools joke on ANN saying that Akira Toriyama sued Oda, since Sogeking was a rip-off of Saiyaman.
Yeah, I remember that too. XD
Quite a few people here actually believed that. XD!!
I don't know if it was mentioned but maybe Silvia from VJ could be inspiration for Califa

Care to explain that one? Not making the connection here. :ermm:

Similar hair and glasses.
Yeah, but Silvia has a BOYFRIEND and Calipha is a FEMMINIST…!
@Masta:

And Sylvia seems to liek femdome. If ya know what I mean.
Wow, this thread was really far down the list.
