just read it, nice chapter. Mistgun is cool. But the chapter was too short…
Fairy Tail
-
-
Why can't Makarov just smash Jose instead of creating his giant God's Judgement-like attack over the guild? But he was pretty bad-ass, doing that Shigan Bachi thing to Jose in the beginning.
And Mist-Gun again. Why does he now have that staff all the time?
-

That made me think more of Freeza/DBZ villains in general than anything related to Shigan
-
@Cap'n:

Yeah, it was basically your generic energy finger blast, but I give it more respect than that. I go into more structured references.
And Jose still has no clear-cut power, I just realized.
-
I think it's "Death" magic. His shadows things were devoid of actual life, and his attacks are usually ghost theme, like Dead Wave.
-
Seems like generic energy attacks, but that "Shade" soldier thing was pretty concrete, and I guess I can accept that it's just "dead" energy that can be manipulated into whatever form or sensation he wants.
-

How is being reminded as Freeza disrespectful
if anything it's better than HURF DURF LUCCI AIR BULLETS
-
Mistgun can manipulate magic.
He can turn people's "mana" off, which puts mages to sleep, since I'm sure they run off of magic. Or he drains everyone's "mana" and makes everyone exhausted.
Discuss.

That doesn't seem to be his exact power, it was just commented that he could gather up magic and he knows powerful sleeping magic, which even Marijane knew. Not necessarily "turning off/turning on", and if he just fights by making his opponents fall asleep, that would be a major let-down.
-
Mist Gun = Awesome. Definitely looking forward to more of him.
Oh, and I am very very happy that the author actually gave a reason for Markarov's quick recovery rather than just "plot device."
@Impel:

The guild is totaled anyway, so might as well make damn sure Jose is taken down.
-
Mistgun's introduction was unexpected. I like his design, and his character is both enigmatic and profound. Makorov changing size takes me back to Goku vs. Piccolo in Dragonball.
-
Well, Mist Gun was introduced a while back.
-
@Cap'n:
Well, Mist Gun was introduced a while back.
Did he ever show up again after that time where he put everyone in the guild asleep?
-
No, but that was when he was introduced.
-
Was that early in the manga, or more recent? I have a lousy memory for these things…
-
@Cap'n:
Well, Mist Gun was introduced a while back.
Whoops, meant to say "Appearance". I'm more tired than I thought. Anyway, we still got more insight on Mist Gun's character.
-
It was pretty a coo scenel, but I hated all the ambiguous dialog. I'm impatient.
-
It was right before the island arc
so sort of early
-
A number.
In scanning the threads I see a number.
13 to be exact.
Not only that it appears to be a number related to something.
Numbers are good.
Is Fairy Tale getting detailed and complex?
-
This arc is definitely branching the series out more to the "world" the series takes place in, so it's getting there I think
-
Kind of. I think it'll expand a lot after the current arc. So far, it's fairly simplistic and typical, but fun.
-
I feel it will be getting to that point pretty soon. It actually seems like Mashima is setting the stage for more epic arcs, as well as delving into the world's ''politics''.
But for now, I'm just satisfied seeing a giant, 90 year old man beat the shit out of a Spaniard.
EDIT: Why must this world be so cruel to us slow guys…..
-
Not really greg. we are just wondering how stellar mages can even call themselves mages when the 13 golden stellar zodiacs are so damn weak compared to everything else.
still pretty simple as this cant be explained yet.
-
Sounds good. I have a lot of high hopes for this series. I like when Japan does fantasy shit that doesn't turn out like vomit mixed with excrement and urine. Some call such a combination "Slayers" or the "Record of Lodoss TV series".
-
What a fine chapter, its always good to see Mist Gun.

Well lucy said her summons would grow stronger as she did. Right now I doubt she can use more then 10% of their power. Let's see.
Here we are chapter 46 page 15. "If I train myself more, those stellar spirits will become stronger then you! (Natsu)"
Plus there may be more kinds of stellar spirits then the ones in bonded to the keys. The keys may be for weak mages or something.
-
Nice find, thx. That clears it up.
-
Like, legendary keys that no one can find that release S-Rank SSS's (Stellar Star Spirits) or something? If that was actually the case, that might be pretty cool, and it could make for an entire arc if done right.
But for now, she's definitely got to buff out the current SSS, because I want to see Cancer do something other than style hair.
-
This chapter's greatness needs to be reiterated.
AHEM
This chapter was flat-out awesome. Mashima has my full respect after pulling this off.
ahem…
-
Finally,you have a better avatar,WeAllEatFood.
On-topic:Yeah,this chapter is so ROCKS!
-
this chapter equals epic awesomeness
nukes and ninjas and lazers and stuff
(ok there were no ninjas but anyway)

AH SWEET. I thought it was something like that but I couldn't remember ever seeing something like that written in the manga.
Thanks.
-
I finally caught up with this series (stopped reading for a bit around 57)
I loved Natsu's fight against Gazille. It was great. The more I read this, and the more awesome attacks I see, the more I hope for a Shonen Magazine Ultimate Stars! game. :P

I wonder what will the Magic Council do after hearing that Fariy Tail shut down Phantom Lord? it also Seems like the Seiten Daimadou will have to find a new member, if Jose is taken out. I don't think Sieglein has enough wit to get the Magic Council to brush this one under the rug.
-
they'll probably be punished in some way
-
Will Jose really get stripped of his title, though? I mean I don't think the Ten Holy Great Mages are really a politically organized group like the Shichibukai, since they have their titles solely because of their strength. It's more of a title of recognition of your strength, rather than a governmental position.
-
@Really:
Will Jose really get his position revoked, though? I mean I don't think the Ten Holy Great Mages are really a politically organized group like the Shichibukai, since they have their positions solely because of their strength.
Well in the 1st chapter one of the guys in the Magic Council asked Sieglein how did he become one of the members of the Magic Conncil & he said "Because our Magic Powers are high." Besides the Magic Council is an organization that manages Mage Guilds.
-
Jose might not get stripped of his title. but they will still need to find a replacement if he is killed.
-
i don't think he'll die
just get the crap beaten out of him
-
Well the Magic Council has to do something, Warfare between 2 Guilds is prohibited, & the Seiten Daimadou titles are given out by the Chair man of the Magic Council. There is also a Magic Order that has to be protected, & having two Guilds fight & two members of the Seiten Daimadou fight could warrant for one of Jose or Makarov being stripped of his title, but I think Jose will be stripped because all of his Guild was shut down & Fariy Tail is the better Guild.
-
There's also Lucy's Dad. I bet he will get pretty pissed if he finds out that Jose allowed Gazille to play around with his "precious" daugther, so yeah, if Makarov's magic doesn't do some shit like traumatizing Jose for the rest of his life, then Dad's money will surely make the council to change their oppinion about Jose and the Phantom Guild.
Anyways, there's always the daughter of Ur to take the place, but I dunno if she's strong enough to be something more than Sieglein's pet.
-
Well her powers has to do with time, so I think she is very powerful.
-

I prefered the old one, but I assume you changed because someone copied you?
-
Well her powers has to do with time, so I think she is very powerful.
Her power does not come from time, it's just as the user's magical power reacting to the keys, so the more power you put into opening the gateway, the power powerful the SSS will be.
And WeAllEatFood, I'm happy for you.
-
@Impel:
Her power does not come from time
He was talking about Urtear, Ur's daughter, not Lucy.
-

No, nothing like that.
God, this chapter has so much value. I'm reading it again, and I'm still impressed the hell out of it, like it's the first damn time.
I love this arc. So damn much.
-
I understand that Makarov and Jose run the risk of being stripped of their title. However, does being stripped of your title also mean instant disbandment of the guild and/or guild leadership?
