frickin doflamingo!!!!!! homeboy doesn't look like he can do ANYTHING without his devil fruit powers!
enel. he shat himself when fruit stopped working
At first it seemed like that, but he was resourceful enough to make an entire final fight challenging even though his power was completely ineffective against Luffy. Not to mention he had decent Haki.
Moriah & Magellan.
Blackbeard wouldn't have gotten excited about the fruit if the book didn't tell him it was a logia. He views Logia fruits as the strongest fruits and certainly wouldn't have tracked down one if he wasn't sure of the type.
He views? You're making these statements as though they are facts. No where has BB indicated he held such a view. It gave him the power it did, that is what he was after, typing is irrelevant.
From what I've seen… all the admirals. And I don't wanna talk about Buggy. He'd be dead by now if he didn't have one. lol

Blackbeard said that his fruit stands out even among the Logias. That pretty much means that he considers Logia powers better than the others.
Ace. Learned his lesson twice.

So true xd

One question..
i just read volume 46 (Viz Midia)
and in the middle of BB fight with Ace
Marshall said that the yami yami no mi can pull ONLY Devil fruits users
is this true ?
he can´t pull normal people ?

I don't remember it saying that? and no it's not true
BB just destroyd the city…then ace attacks
then BB use Black Vortex on ace (and there he said "the gravity of darkness can pull in the actual body of devil fruit users")
when Marshall first grabbed ace

I'm just guessing here but it might just a badly worded translation.

It states it in that one but that is the numbered episode so original in japanese can be tracked down and checked.
Also is the episode that confirms BB is a Logia as well
Blackbeard said that his fruit stands out even among the Logias. That pretty much means that he considers Logia powers better than the others.
No it doesn't. He was just stating its uniqueness, not that logia's are somehow better…which they clearly aren't because we have Marco's mythical class zoan & which is rarer and well...has superior regneration ability...as well as WB's former ability which is no doubt, the most destructive power of any that exists...
In overall quality, he is right about the Logias, though. True, if you eat a Paramecia, you could get something like Earthquake punches, you could also get springy limbs. With Zoans, for every Phoenix, T. Rex or Leopard, you have Koalas, Cows & Zebras.
But Logias, barring elemental weaknessess and Haki of course, usually are always powerful, no matter the skill of the user. Even Smoker's power, seemingly the less destructive, has no counters that I can think of.

And if used to a murderous extent, can suffocate whole cities.

Saying that his fruit stands out 'even among the Logias' means that in his opinion Logias stands out among the other Devil Fruits. Okay, I must admit that this doesn't necessarily mean that he thinks they are more powerful than the others, but still he considers them to be superior in some way.
And even Laki said that Logia is the strongest type, which is the reason for why I usually think people in One Piece consider it to be the most powerful as well.
@Superbear:

Depends on what smoke he is. To me he's always seemed more like a cloud then smoke that could kill you.

Well in general…she's probably right about them being amongst the strongest class of fruit over all......
I think the devil fruit that marco ate is pretty cool . But i have a question about it. When he is in his full phoenix form he can let attacks pass through him like a logia devil fruit user, but can he let attacks pass through him while he is in his human form ?
He needs to transform for the healing/invulnerability to set in.
ya but he wud get injured like the rest of us. his phoenix form allows him to recover when getting hit
Well. His body part will turn phoenix most likely and heal.
They don't go through him. They hit him just as they'd hit any other non-logia. It's just in the phoenix form they're instantly healed by the phoenix fire. He needs the fire to heal himself I think, which he doesn't have in pure human form.

Correct. Again, why he didn't just go hybrid form during the war instead of just morphing select limbs is still a mystery to me.

Because he's not able to. He's zoan, not logia. Zoans don't have control over what their hybrid forms are. They just happen that way. The only exception is the rumble ball which kinda amalgamates parts from the 3 forms. But it's not like Lucci was able to turn full Leopard but keep his human face. Marco's the same. His hybrid form is wing arms and talons. He can't pick what phoenix parts he wants at what time. It's either full human, wings and talons, or full phoenix.

I mean, like Lucci in his fight with Luffy, animal form but human characteristics. Why he didn't do that, where he's overall stronger and has the fire probably.
I can see truly experienced Zoan users gaining the ability to control separate parts.

All zoans have their own hybrid forms, but they vary a lot. Miss Merrychristmas, for example, just got a mole nose and claws. The CP9 zoans all had hybrid forms that were more influenced by the animal side. Chopper's hybrid form is totally off the wall with how small it is.
So Marco's hybrid form has less visual change than some others, but that doesn't mean that he somehow has access to a second, more birdlike hybrid form. He showed with Kizaru's first attack that the flames heal him in hybrid form just fine. Also, Oda has said in a recent SBS that his fire isn't hot.
I can see truly experienced Zoan users gaining the ability to control separate parts.
That's a plausible theory I suppose, but there's no precedent for it at this point. There's also not even any foreshadowing of it being possible that I've seen.
Marco got hit by Kizaru's laser but he healed fast or maybe he didn't hit him really like a logia user, but does he have the defensive powers in his human form too or can he just heal any injury ?
@ShenLong:

Uh? did you really read the manga?
Marco is a phoenix zoan. True to a Phoenix, he gets "reborn" or "regenerated"
The only way to kill him is to nullify his DF with sandstone cuffs or Haki infused weapons and of course, throwing him to the sea.

First, I'm sure it was spelling error, but it's seastone.
Second, it is not possible to permanently harm him even with haki, because he can just regenerate using his DF. This means he can be harmed even without haki, as demonstrated by Kizaru, however, he just regenerates.
@moxman Yes i read the manga .
@murderedboy That's what i asked for, he can get hurt but he can regenerate so he actually can heal even when he got hit by a Haki user and although he bleeds he can heal that wound is that correct ?
@ShenLong:

Yes, that is correct, to the best of my understanding.

He can't heal wounds he got by Haki attacks or when he is affected by Seastone Effect. Proven when Garp hit him, you can see that his cheek is still Injured even after transforming back:
!

Really his fire isn't hot? For some reason I find that really cool! I need to keep up with the SBS stuff better.
about the control over Zoan DF we do have Lucci using life return to make his hybrid for smaller and more agile, it's not the same but it could hint at more control being possible.

True. Somehow haki hurts the DF user in some ways it nullifies how the ability affects the person.
A haki gomu-pistol can hurt BB bigtime. If luffy can get it past the quakes. (WB tearing the atmosphere)

It was shown that the 3 admirals were able to negate WB shockwave with the CoA Haki.
so if Luffy CoA is Stronger, i think it may goes throught the Shockwave and Reach BB.

Are you sure it was all Haki? all i saw was smoke and the three stooges doing the "Stop in the name of love" thing.
But yeah, good point. Let's see luffy do that in a close fight. WB is just too damn a mile away from the admirals.
I have a theory that smoker can only turn into smoke when there is other smoke around him. You always see him with cigars and when he didn't have one in alabasta he was hit by luffy.. herehttp://www.mangareader.net/103-2265-6/one-piece/chapter-158.html oh and then after he is hit he lights up a cigar, then uses his powers..
it seems as though every logia user has a weakness.. Crocodile - water, kizaru - darkness?hmm

Yeah…...let me break this down.
Smoker only got hit by Luffy in Alabasta because the latter came crashing through a doorway, totally catching the former off guard.
And why would Smoker need smoke nearby to transform? That's like saying Ace needed fire nearby to transform, or BB needs darkness nearby. Not plausible, because part of a Logia user's strength is generate their element from their body, in nearly any situation.
Where did you get the idea that Kizaru's has a weakness to darkness?
Where did you get the idea that Kizaru's has a weakness to darkness?
Theoretically speaking. Kizaru relies in speed and evading. BB can absorb all of his light attacks and pull him in with his black hole technique so he can't speed around.
I can see truly experienced Zoan users gaining the ability to control separate parts.
That's a plausible theory I suppose, but there's no precedent for it at this point. There's also not even any foreshadowing of it being possible that I've seen.
Marco transformed his feet into Phoenix claws and his arms into Phoenix wings - while staying in his human form - when he attacked Akainu.
So it seems like it's possible for experienced Zoan users to transform seperate body parts.
!
Where did you get the idea that Kizaru's has a weakness to darkness?
Not even light can escape a black hole.
But,
Pell transforms his arms in claws,
not in wings,Like Marco and Lafitte
But,
Pell transforms his arms in claws,
not in wings,Like Marco and Lafitte
Marco, Onigumo, and Lafitte are very strange zoans because they seem to select what they want to be transformed without going into a full transformation.
We din´t saw lucci transforming separete body parts..
and Rob is a well trained Zoan user (i think)
about the control over Zoan DF we do have Lucci using life return to make his hybrid for smaller and more agile, it's not the same but it could hint at more control being possible.
Kumadori, who had no fruit power, used the exact same technique with the exact same effect. There is no sign that it's capable of what you're talking about. I'm not saying that it's not possible, just that there is no precedent.
Marco transformed his feet into Phoenix claws and his arms into Phoenix wings - while staying in his human form - when he attacked Akainu.

That's just his hybrid form. He looks the exact same when he blocks Kizaru's first attack. If you want to disprove me, find an alternate hybrid to that.
EDIT: Well, I sort of take that back, he did have a normal foot when he kicked Kizaru. That's certainly worth noting, though it could also be a mistake.
