My guess is he wasn't literally saying it was the power of the devil (not trying to be captain obvious, but aren't devils usually associated with fire/hellfire?) he was probably just saying his fruit is the most evil being literal darkness and its unique abilities for its particular class.
I think Shanks said demons as in a "curse of the sea" (as in, you end up being banned from the sea). I don't believe there is a living being inside the fruit.
I also remember Jabra talking about this "sea demon" with Kaku and Kalifa, maybe it's a folklore/misinterpretation of a fact in the world of OP.

I think that the fruits aren't explainable, or at least not by current technology in One Piece. The WG is probably the only organization that knows all/most of the secrets of the Devil Fruits. As for why they call them sea devil incarnations? It would be the equivalent of men during the pirating age referring to men as being sent down to Davy Jone's locker or something. Just a common phrase/myth/urban legend that sailors pass around to each other about things they don't completely understand. There could be actual demons, but as it stands I doubt that the guys passing along that storyactually know for sure one way or another. Hope this helps man

With Vegapunk we've basically been given a promise to have Devil Fruits completely explained. We saw Vegapunks home island, his body guard and now Smoker is heading his way. We will get some crazy significant info out of him thats for sure.
About actual devils or demons I think it could be a possibility. When Black Beard talks about how the Darkness Fruit chose him, I can't help but wonder if that wasn't just a figure of speech. Plus what ever resides in the fruit passes in and out of people, animals, objects and other fruit like a spirit so if it turns out to be true we were given enough hints already.

This is merely a guess, but I would presume Zoans differ from both Paramecias and Logia in this field in that it would be more awakening the inner animal of their power for Zoans. Like the Demon Guards still were humanoid and had some sentience, but parts of their body looked like pure animals instead of the usual wear-beast form and were quite savage.

Which is that every single Admiral power has been related to their associated color.
Aokiji = Blue = Ice
Kizaru = Yellow = Light
Akainu = Red = Magma
Fujitora = Purple = Gravity (it's been established that the Japanese associate gravity with purple)
Whatever power Green Bull has…will unquestionably be associated with green.

This is a very poor way to wave away the color association. Just because a power like that was taken doesn't at all make this irrelevant. It's a fundamental issue your theory HAS to address. If you can find some info about the Japanese associating "time" with green then congratulations.

I would say dragon. I know kaidou or shogun have it, but if one of those has the eastern one, greenbull can have the western dragon. The 2 dragons are different enough to have both, eve more with all those snow ice, kilo kilo- ton ton more similar fruits.

Well, I initially thought about powers associated with green like plant manipulation, disease, radioactivity, acid,.. but I wasn't convinced so I changed my approach and tried to think about phenomena related to light and gravity, or atleast to gravity. And I could only think of time manipulation considering gravity as space manipulation. I'm not really convinved either, maybe acid or radioactivity are better bets.

I searched a while ago but found nothing significant, and even though I've seen some connection between gravity and the color purple in videogames, there isn't much I can find in the internet, so who knows.

I would find him having a zoan to be really weird, all admirals' fruits are about some kind of natural phenomena so I think fujitora and ryokugyuu both being paramecia is much more likely. I could see it if we were talking about admirals from around sengoku's generation, kong for instance.

The discussion of time travel being associated with the color green immediately makes me think of the game Baten Kaitos where the chronos cards were mostly green. Haven't touched that game in over a decade but I remember that. Not saying I support the theory at all, but that just in my own mind there is already an association between time abilities and the color green. Wondering if time=green is something unique to that series or if it has older origins.
Something as strong as a time-stopping/controlling DF will definitely be in the possession of a character we will face near the end.

Time related devil fruits are hard to deal with. I think Foxy's powers will be the only one of this kind.
Foxy controlled more the movement of an object for a certain period of time.
I would predict a time controlling fruit could have limits like the ope ope no mi, where only a certain room would be affected by the user and it would be limited to certain periods.
While it being used a hundred times in any kind of mangas, it still is an ability i assume Oda holds back for later.
Seastone clearly weakened Ener physically. He starts sweating, shaking and ends up on his knees before Wiper can harm him with the Reject Dial. There's clearly a continuity problem here with the handcuffs used at Enies Lobby, now maybe there's different types of Seastone, or maybe it depends from the amount of Seastone in the cuffs, but Oda will have to justify how Robin can move and walk normally with it.

Yes, but the question now becomes whether or not the handcuffs contained less seastone. Which I'm guessing is the only plausible explanation at this point if we want to avoid seeing it as an inconsistency. I could still buy into the being accustomed to the wavelength of the sea theory, but from how we see Luffy respond to the cage and such, we can no longer assume that that explanation is sufficient.
Maybe one could also argue that Robin had been wearing the cuffs for a long time during EL, so maybe she got used to them a little as well? Of course not enough to be able to really do anything, but enough to be able to walk normally and resist Spandam and such. It is all explainable through one or a combination of any of these factors I guess.
Actually, I'm just thinking of something. Wasn't it said that the sea clouds emerged from sea stone or something like that? Wouldn't that also make it give off a similar vibe? Of course to a lesser extent than the blue sea, but still.

Yes, but that cage is a lot more seastone than what Ener was exposed to. While Luffy and Smoker are discomfitted they're not totally helpless unless in direct contact, maybe Ener would be a puddle by then.

I don't think it matters how large the cage is, it matters how much you're touching. The jutte is much smaller than the cage, yet had the same effect. Also, that was on Luffy's clothing, whereas Enel had two Sea Stones directly on his skin when Wiper grabbed him.

It stopped working when he was knocked out by Hody and so Noah stopped following Shiraoshi. Gravity then took over afterwards.
