You didn't seem to ever have any healing items equipped :P .
What are you Playing?

You didn't seem to ever have any healing items equipped :P .
That's because I ran out of rations almost immediately… So yeah. I don't suppose you would be willing to play any of those remaining missions with me? :3
Edit: By the way, I should also mention that maybe you shouldn't start the missions so quickly. My loadout was less than stellar, since I only had 18 seconds to decide what wanted to use.
-
I don't know how the start thing works. If I decide to start it says it's waiting for you. I wasn't sure if it was actually doing that though.
-
Yeah, who was that idiot saying purists tend to not like the third one?
:ninja:
You calling me a purist?
I'm playing Mega Man 2, I guess.
-
I just played my old Pokemon FireRed Edition. That game is still a load of fun! I stopped after Generation 2 at the time, and now I
m pondering if I should buy all of them. What sucks is that I don
t anyone else who I could trade with, so its impossible to catch them all :sad:And I know there are probably some onlite sites or whatever, but I
m too lazy for that -
Yeah I missed Gen 3 & 4 too and wanted to buy some games from it but they're relatively expensive. Platin for 55 bucks, it's ridiculous
-

Yeah, it's waiting for me because once you hit "start", the countdown timer commences, and I was scrambling to find the best equipment I could. :P I'm not sure player 2 even has the ability to start a mission. It didn't seem like it to me.
-
Beat Red in HeartGold and caught Kyogre so for I beat that game.
Also finally got a Regice via GTS and could catch a Regigigas which was the last legendary I hadn't caught in Black 2.
Now I try to get the remaining Pokemon but most of them are legendaries …. And GTS is soo annoying -
I never played a single Shantae game before, despite being exited in the newer on that is being funded via Kickstarter.
So I'm deciding whether or not to play all the games from the begining, or just play the fan favorite like I did with Super Metriod(which I abolsutely loved). -
I'd say go with the original, Risky's Revenge is good but it's shorter and a little easier.
-
If Risky's Revenge is short and easy, it would not hurt to go into it after I'm done with the original. I'll try getting into both. Hopefully with some time.
Too many damned games released this/next month X_x
Valdis Story came out recently, and that's another 2D action platformer I've been meaning to play. From what I heard, It's going to be added to the Humble Store soon. Might wait to see if it makes a Humble Bundle, but I really want to support the developer immediately. Nobody wants me to save money, it seems. So yeah. Next games on the list. Shantea, Valdis Story, and Disgea D2. Pokemon and GTA5 could wait till March next year.
-
Hiroy, have you given Spelunky a shot?
-
I wasn't initially interested in it, but ENB's review convinced me to check it out. Why did you ask?

I didn't care for it, but it seemed right down your alley. Procedurally-generated, high but "fair" difficulty, roguelike aspects…Just seemed the kind of game you enjoy.
-
Currently going through one of my old favorite games, ILLBLEED for the Dreamcast. Aka the Dreamcastiest Dreamcast game to ever Dreamcast
-
Finished Metroid Fusion, Shantae and Risky's Revenge.
I'm finally beginning to get into the Metroid games. Although a bit linear, i loved the controls and fastly prefer them over the Super Metroid controls.
Level design isn't quite as good Super Metroid. But that one is hard to top.The original Shantae had alot of charm, but was hard in a cheap way.
So i had the resort to save-stated :S
Risky's revenge fixed all those issues, but i was a bit short.
But i loved everything else about it.Also just started playing Puppeteer. And i can't recommend this enough.
So much love went into this game, people really need to play this.
Some people seem to be discouraged because of the LBP style, but i can assure you it doesn't plays anything alike (no floaty controls here). -
I'd finished Guacamelee and while waffling on whether to play again on hard mode or start playing Dust, I played Sonic Spinball. Because I hate myself, apparently.
-
So I bought a merc suit in Stalker today and didn't think anything of it coming with a gas mask. I forgot that the mod I'm playing has gas mask overlays though, so now I have part of my gas mask obscuring part of my view and I don't have enough money to buy a new suit. And this one doesn't have good enough radiation protection to get to the next area for some reason.
-
edit: whoops. wrong thread
I guess I'm mostly playing Mercenary Kings to kill time >_>
Okay, I'm playing nothing currently. Might download Shantea for the GBC tonight. Assuming it works. -
Luigi's Mansion Dark moon. I've only just started, and I didn't play the first but, I gotta say, wasn't expecting ghost capturing to be this easy. That's probably pretty naive of me.

Nah, they actually (mercifully) made ghost-capturing easier in Dark Moon. It's a bit trickier in the original.
-
Took on around 5 boars and a chimera while drunk in Stalker today. Took a few deaths and reloads to actually kill all of them without dying but I did it. For anyone who hasn't played the games,
is a chimera. There are electrochimeras in the mod I'm playing too. Ran into two of them today. If you're too close to them when you shoot them your bullets will act as conduits for the electricity and you'll be shocked to death. Also still haven't finished chapter 1 of Underhell. It's incredibly impressive how lengthy this mod is already and it isn't anywhere near finished yet either.
-
I'd finished Guacamelee and while waffling on whether to play again on hard mode or start playing Dust, I played Sonic Spinball. Because I hate myself, apparently.
So I went with Gauacamelee on hard mode, tore through pretty quick, start Dust soon-ish
-
Finally playing Journey now.
Just…totally a visual masterpiece.
-
Finished the first lab in Stalker… again...
I have way too much stuff. The weight limit I have is 35 kg but I'm at almost 40 and I don't really want to drop anything. I love the saiga but I need an assault rifle for medium to long range and also because of the prevalence of its ammo. I always run into the issue where I'm over the weight limit but can't think of anything that I could drop without feeling like I'm depriving myself of something. I do have a few artifacts and some other things that I can sell though, but I don't think it'll be that much weight lifted off.
-
Valdis Story. Finally purchased it.
I was kinda mad, so I played it on the hardest difficulty mostly expecting the first parts to play like the demo… boy was I wrong! It's alot different. Some ways it's easier, and other times it's outright nuts. Exploring the levels in general is terrifying, mainly because of how technical the battle system is. Like, you have ground combos, aerial combos, cancels, guard breaks, ground bounce and knockbacks. And all of these are really damned important as I would encounter enemies that would have a variety of counter-attacks, support spells, fast regen(some become almost impossible to kill), would revive allies, and attack spells that I'd need to learn patterns for avoiding. It's something I don't see alot of action-rpgs too, and it's thrilling. And with the hardest difficulty adding new mechanics(enemies have higher combos, shields, and spells), I feel like the pressure is even higher. Especially on a blind run.I might end up knocking the difficulty down once I hit a major roadblock, because honestly... The skill tree building aspect might come back and bite me later. Deciding which stats to upgrade has been honestly harder than the game itself, lol.

Got a little further in Underhell. I had been mashing the key to put a silencer on my gun and wondering why it wasn't working. Turns out that the gun I had wasn't able to use it. I wish the game had told me that. I did find a gun that supported the silencer a little bit into the part I was on but by then I had already ruined the stealth part.

trying and failing megaman x, in the megaman x collection.

Dream Team!
I like it, but holy balls they never shut up.
I guess I just have high expectations 'cause PIT is one of my all time favorites.

Having played all of the Mario & Luigi games I think Partners in Time is the weakest of them all… they are all really dialogue-heavy though.

Grand Theft Auto V, and Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.
-
Finished what's out right now of Underhell. Fantastic game. I still have to do some stuff at the house, though, which is creepy as shit. Keep getting figures out of the corner of my eyes. I walked into the bedroom to go to sleep and there was a ghost sitting on the bed for a split second, kind of like those scenes in Fight Club where the guy shows up for one frame.
Edit: Oh and there was this cool as shit puzzle where you had to reach a door on the other side of a room, which was connected to you by a series of bridged, but you couldn't see the bridges yourself. There was a mirror above you that you could see the bridges in and you had to use it to navigate.

Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD. Damn this game pretty much requires you to have played it way back when. Because a lot of it hasn't aged well, the difficulty pretty much lies in the terrible camera and bad A.I (seriously Donald, Goofy. I JUST replenished all your items. Quit wasting them early battle instead of when they're needed.
But it is still a lot of fun.
-
JoJo's and Diablo took up my weekend guhhh loving them so far.
-
Just got my copy of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure All Star Battle in a few minutes ago. Can't wait to dig into it after the updates are done downloading.
-
I decided to finish FFIX (I'm something like halfway through disc 3) after a long break but couldn't get into it. This is why you shouldn't take too long finishing JRPGs.

Agree. Also wished they would have just bundled 1, Chain of Memories and 2.
-
Yeah I just finished 1.5 and watched the Days film (Didn't think anything could be worse than playing that, but just watching the cutscenes from it proved me wrong.) Just started Chain of Memories. I used to love that for the GBA but remembered it hating how complicated the battle system was.
And to be fair. I'd be happy if they brought out 2.5 and BBS on another disc (could probably have recoded on there too…)

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2
This has to be the first Monsters game where I have spent time grinding a monster for better grinding. But other than that I really enjoyed the game and my only real complaint (since the grinding is a breeze after getting the right combination of skills in a monster) is that the game feels a little bit empty at times compared to the past titles of the series. And it also felt like a downgrade that monsters went back to being mere tools, unlike Caravan Heart where you had 3-5 monsters that would willingly join your party and also keep their personalities no matter how many times you fused them with the souls of other monsters.
-
KH 2.5 + BBS is coming. It's inevitable. There'll be plenty of time for that to come out before KH3.
-
Finished Valdis Story and defeated the optional bosses. Things I loved and hated about it.
Loved:
-Really well done Metriodvania elements: I think I talked about this before when I critiqued Dust. Going out of your way to explore is worth the trips almost all the time due to the balanced distribution of rare and common items. There are also optional areas you an unexpectedly encounter if you happen to explore deep enough.
-The combat system: Again, another thing I critiqued Dust for. While it does not show itself on the lower difficulties until the mid portion of the game, the combat has alot of depth to it. Fights are almost never one-sided due to enemies having the same mechanics as the player.
-The boss fights: I feel like this should not be a plus anymore for indie games, so I'll skip talking about them. They are good.
-Music: The soundtrack is fantastic. I can't begin to describe how great it is too. So, check out the review since I'm no good at describing music: http://www.rpgfan.com/soundtracks/valdisstory/index.html There's also a Bandcamp link, you so can preview all the in-game tracks.
-Difficult Difficulty: I heard the game gets harder if you play on Normal, but I kinda refuse to believe that outside the platforming sections. On my first run, I did the highest difficulty and it was absolutely satisfying to play. Enemies did things they would not do otherwise in lower settings, and it's surprising how much it adds to the game, given the options you are given to dispatch foes. This game is hardcore!
-It stays fresh: There's upgrade paths for weapons and spells. New weapon types. New Magic types. And a ton of ways to experiment with builds since the game does not really explain much until you see it work yourself(like Dark Souls in some ways).Hated:
-Platforming: Everything is absolutely fine about the controls, despite the fact that the game never really trains you to use the more complex platforming systems until this brutally punishing optional map. The controls are just a little too sensitive with no way to slow down the run animation. It gets really annoying when you have to hop on moving platforms that is one sprite frame in size. Also, while you can get used to it, grabing ledges feels kinda weird sometimes.
-Bosses that summon minions: Aside from a couple of bosses that are essentially commanders, there are bosses that summon the most annoying minions ever. I thought it was a cheap way to make bosses hard on the higher difficulties. This is really limited to two battles.
-The Siren enemy type: The worst enemy type I've encountered in a game. They aren't bad in the beginning, but when they level towards they end they become a pest. Mainly due to their unbreakable shield that breaks combos AND really high magic/attack resistance. There's a boss that summons six of these a-holes too.Neutral:
The story: I paid attention to it closely, but the main character Wyatt is such an asshole. It was kinda hard to care. Aside that the main plotline is mostly background history and lore. What you do throughout the game is fetching stuff, and honestly I thought there could have been a better reason to explore the world. The script also felt a little weak. As in the dialogue can seem very exposition heavy without much character behind it.That said, if you are looking for a really tough action rpg, I'd recommend this game. And if you do, I recommend playing on the hardest difficulty blind.
-
Just finished what's out so far of Underhell. Best game I've played all year. Nice mix of action and horror that does both things really well and while the story is pretty confusing at the moment it's nicely done as well. Just wish it ran a bit better but that's one of the only issues I have with it. It's also long as hell. There's apparently going to be 3 or 4 chapters total, but I've gotten 15-20 hours just out of the prologue and chapter 1.
Highly recommended. It's free too, I think TF2, which is also free, works for the Source SDK requirement.
-
I noticed I only had one achievement left on Limbo, and since I can tend to be just the tiniest bit obsessive about these things, I've been giving it a few shots.
It's a 'get through the game with minimal deaths' one (specifically, in this case, five or fewer), and it's proving to be a little bit frustrating. The thing is, Limbo, being a puzzle game, isn't all that horribly long once you know all the solutions; I'd say probably about an hour. Unfortunately, at least in my opinion, by far the game's most difficult parts in terms of timing and platforming are contained within its last few puzzles, basically turning any attempt into about forty minutes or so of mostly rote game-play until I get to the few instants that will determine whether or not I meet with success.
Still, I shall persevere eventually!

Finished my second playthrough of Valdis Story. This time on Normal since I wanted to speed through it with the second character. Reina is definitely more powerful than Wyatt, but she does not have a whole lot of options in Int Magic Warrior builds, or skills that offered HP regeneration. But it was fine. Difficulty wise… I'd just say I was surprised how absoolutely dreadful the HP of bosses were O_o They went down embarassingly quickly.
The story however was told alot better in Reina's point of veiw though. It even shed some background on Wyatt's "douche" character as well. It also tempted me to read through the lore entries and hunt down the optional books for more information. So the story is in fact, pretty interesting with the possibility for a sequel up in the air. In terms of characters, they really do leave little room for humor or casual interaction. The funniest thing I've seen in the game so far was well... I missed this the first time(since he apparently dies in a cave in), but there's a moment with a corgi floating in midair wearing a tophat. I was terrified at first since it was the most bizzare thing to ever see from a game that is usually so gloomy. Then I just laughed when the dog lured an enemy into a trap. Then laughed even more when I found out he was part of your crew. He's also a skills master that teaches you a finishing move! I don't why, but this character made me appreciate the game alot more than I have. Did I also mention that his name was Sir Pancakes?
There's even a lazy panda(with a cannon on its back) that was just sleeping in one of the dangerous endgame areas. Nothing much to say about him. But hey. A lazy panda with a cannon on its back.
-

No, please, by all means, do go on.

That is the most adorable thing I've heard ever
-
Fire emblem sacred stones, this support system compared with awakenings support sytem is so not so fun.
Wait like 20 turns just so they can talk and only 5 times.
Though the monster on this one are so much better than the generic risens. -
That is the most adorable thing I've heard ever
My sis said that same thing. Just look at this guy.
I demanded Endless Fluff to make a plush of it. One that floats too.
They joked using helium. -
Just bought the Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction for the Gamecube, and honestly, I wish I had done so years ago. It certainly isn't the prettiest-looking game out there, but when even running around the world map is fun, that's definitely a good sign.
