Smoker would be interesting, especially since he needs to do something big soon, there’s no way Oda just gave every Marine time to shine besides him and doesn’t have something big planned for him

Plus we’d totally know who Aokiji’s opponent would be, they’d be parallels to each other

Aside from Luffy, I think either Zoro, Jinbe, Sanji, or Yamato in the event she joins up would be the best candidates to fight him.

Sanji makes the most sense then, Luffy and Zoro already have opponents, and Sanji has the fire vs ice, plus Aokiji captured Pudding

I suppose the recruit could fight Pizarro then. I originally had Sanji up against him.

I’m all over the place with Sanji, he could fight Aokiji, Jesus Burgess, Avalo Pizarro or Vasco Shot, I honestly have no idea who he’ll end up fighting lol

In any case, I’m glad more things like this are popping up as to fuel further discussion on new crewmates.

Anything that helps counter back any “there won’t be anymore crewmates” is a plus if you ask me. lol

But going back to Blackbeard Pirates, I suppose we might find out after Blackbeard invades Wano, after Caribou tells him about Pluton. Yamato wouldn’t defeat him without Luffy’s involvement, so I imagine this would all play out while the Elbaf arc is happening and that Luffy would get called on by Momo after that.

So maybe Straw Hats + Yamato vs. Blackbeard Pirates is how Oda wants this to play out.

It kinda boggles me when some people make such bold claims about how certain characters will join, but never take the time to explain what purpose they may have.

That’s prob the biggest factor that should be questioned first when it comes to someone joining: purpose

I wonder if Jinbe would quit the Straw Hats to help protect Fish-Man Island in the event Blackbeard attacks it for Poseidon.

After all, Jinbe is willing to be Fish-Man Island's protector, and would also answer to the complaint of the crew being too big.

If Blackbeard or the WG attack Fishman Island I think Luffy would go there with Jinbe to help. We still need to return there so Luffy can destroy the whole island, but that could be at the end of the story.

There was so very much reason that it should have been Carrot. That she was fulfilling the will of someone who should have been on the trip to Laughtale and yet peaced out (much like Buggy and Shanks) and yet she was weirdly forced into being the Queen of Zou because... she'd bothered to explore all of two islands? This is whole resolution was absolutely stupid. Carrot's adventures out of Zou in no way prepared her to be the queen of their semi-island nor fulfilled the will she supposedly inherited.

And then we have Yamato who was not around nearly as long as Carrot, but sure as hell made a better case that she should accompany the Straw Hats to Laughtale to fulfill Odn's will-- and, yet, that never mattered. She is going to wander around Wano until Odin:s ultimate goal is completed by someone else without her being remotely involved.

But now we have Bonny and Lilith and their cases for ever being a main characters, contributing anything to the main cast or having a real storyline is pathetically lacking in comparison if we had kept Carrot or Yamato.

Truly-- I think only Vivi is going to become an official "Straw Hat"-- and all else will be, at best, part of their fleet.

Not stupid to me. Being well versed on the outside world is something that both Neko and Inu were as well. That was coupled with "Pedro's will" for context, so it wasn't just who experienced the outside world.

When intruders like Jack came around, being aware of what happens outside of Zou paid off.

Seeing as how Blackbeard looks set to invade Wano because of Caribou’s info leak, there’s reason to believe Wano’s story isn’t done yet, and not just as hand me downs to some grand fleet either. Yamato and the others could easily just as be involved to reunite with Luffy and help him out due to the hecticness of the situation.

Time will tell. It always does.

Hmm, looks like Oda had Denjiro handle the situation with the Kaido-hating kids instead of Yamato alone. Makes me wonder how Yamato will handle any future Kaido-hating situations.

Went from thinking BB Pirates get 1 and the crew get 1 when their boat first showed up to throwing that away during the phonecall deal in 1089. York just fits them way more.

Toei even highlights Lilith's love for funds and testing out weapons in that extra section at the end of episodes.

Bonney is really being set-up to be closer to Luffy at this point. The Straw Hats will give her more people to talk to considering Kuma is basically a mute vegetable at this point.

Regardless of whether Bonney actually joins or not, there are no longer going to be any "happy endings."

The world is about to descend into utter darkness and chaos. It will only be right before complete destruction that the Dawn will occur, after which everybody can resume their lives.

But until that happens, the OP world is literally going to be on the brink of ending. There's no room for happiness at this critical juncture.

Bonney's only options are to FIGHT, whether it's with the Revolutionary Army or the Strawhat Pirates.

We’ll have to see how Oda handles Kuma’s situation from here on out then, whether just being content being with a veggie Kuma or finding more content times with the Straw Hats.

We’ll recently when he made a baseball bat it had the number 56 on it….. so I’m really stretching here but it’s still possible

We’ll see soon, I don’t think Kuma’s going to die, but it seems unlikely he’d leave Bonney behind, I think they might travel a while together until the story calls them back

Well I’m in no rush. As I said with Yamato, I’m waiting to see what purpose Lilith would have with the Straw Hats. If they suddenly become some magnet for more resources, then that would def lend to her purpose more.

Chaplain, like a priest in the ship. Very common in the pirate age.
As much as I like the idea of Kuma joining, he would have to leave Bonney behind with someone (revolutionary army?). And if he is free to sail the seas, he should be sailing together with her, not with the Strawhats.

Yeah, I can't see Bonney and Kuma as separate entities within the story. They are meant to remain together. If one joins, so does the other, but it makes way more sense for them to go on their own way.

Still, we need to get a resolution on Kuma's mind before we get the end of their arc. Things can always evolve in unexpected ways.

Also a Jinbei joke is the fact that I change how I spell Jinbe every time I write his name and no one ever notices until I point it out. I've done it so many years it's on autopilot, I don't even think about it.

@Shiebs He could be the crew's teleport machine, like the Escape Rope in the Pokemon games, whenever the crew gets in too deep in some weird island he can just take them back to the Sunny. They have trouble returning to their ship almost every arc, heck, they're having that problem right now, it would be usefull.
