They sucks. They downvote every interesting theory or discussion and they upvote dumb stuff.

Never been there, but I've heard multiple accounts that, if you're on the OP reddit, you pretty much have to worship the ground Oda walks on at all times, and any criticisms of the series–even if they're minor ones, and/or completely valid--will get you heavily downvoted.
Personally, I would never wanna be on there just because downvoting/disliking posts is a thing. Like I said, already wasn't a big fan of the "like" system at OJ, but at least there, they only had a like option. When you throw a dislike option in there...ugh. Sounds like way too much petty drama waiting to happen.

Also that poster Jesse was so bad even Oro deleted him, and even if it was self requested just looking through the posts seems like its a bullet dodged.

I'm more of a lurker on this Forum so I don't really contribute to anything but I appreciate the discussions here. As for OroJackson, I never liked that place because it focuses too much on power scaling and shitposting and moderation is nonexistent.

I'm a long-time lurker here and I'm very active on the OP subreddit, and I think they each have their pro and cons.
AP is more organized, there's more serious discussion and the users are fewer, so you can keep track of everything. It's also pretty calm and chill. But so calm and chill it stagnates sometimes.
Reddit is mayhem, with a new post every minute and a constant influx of new users who have just started the series (who constantly ask the same stuff like should I read the manga or watch the anime). You get the same theories and discussions posted over and over again. There's too much merch, fanart (often reposted) and ugly tattoos. Low effort posts are rewarded more than well-thought-out ones. It's the kingdom of "Oda said…" fake rumors. Too many power level discussions. You have to tag as spoiler anything that is not in the anime yet even if it came out a year ago in the manga. And finally, everyone uses the downvote button as a "I disagree with you" button.
Despite this, I still like the chapter discussion threads and the chapter theories threads on reddit. It's a fast and easy way to discuss the new chapter with a lot of other people, and you get many different opinions and theories, which is what I look for when a chapter comes out.

I'm curious about another thing. Do you guys use www.apforums.net or www.arlongpark.net ? I use the former with the Fishman Island skin but sometimes I stumble upon the other domain with the retro blue layout with the afro luffy's and I nostalgia a bit before getting that out of my face.

I use the arlongpark.net one with the light-blue theme, althought I used to use the Fishman Island theme. The Ciphel Pol theme would be pretty nifty were it not for the fact the the Senior red literally hurts me eyes.

Same for me, apforums.net with the Fishman Island skin (which I use because, well, it's green, haha).
EDIT: Well, that's what I was using on my phone browser where I typed that from, anyway. Just pulled out my laptop and saw that I was using the forums.arlongpark.net on here, so I switched to the same one on my phone for consistency's sake. Not sure which one my work laptop is using.

Reading through the thread I'm perplexed at some people here. I'm a regular at OJ and semi-regular here. AP has certain advantages, it hasn't made me nearly as mad as OJ was able to for starters, the overall community is quieter which sometimes is really a nice change of pace, and I feel like there's a lot more people I could totally get along with here (please let there be more film and anime talk :sad:); OJ has more activity though and sometimes it looks great if you have the mood for mindless fun and shitposting, I have made a lot of friendly interactions there as well. Redon's tweet and overall attitude on the matter, as well as some I'm reading here, are absolutely uncalled for though and I don't think I need to say why trying to create a confrontation among One Piece fandoms (which only really differ in the mood a forum creates and therefore there is no need to panic because those who come here will either adapt or leave) is ironically pretty toxic and these concerns don't have a reason of being if this forum is well policed and moderated. Which I don't doubt it is.
I'm pretty sure the feared transition will be smooth and occasional toxicity will be a non-issue as long as it's fastly taken out by the mods, except if you really try to make it so.

I felt way more attached to certain people than others in that community for a reason, I never felt the energy to participate regularly in games and community projects and my participation went on bursts.
I personally don't like elite attitudes, but I understand a desire of self-preservation in a basic level. If you don't want an OJ-like community in AP (I don't want it either) then of course you are free to express this concern. The problem arises when you are pointing at the users, a number of them being active on both sites, and treating them like some sort of plague in a basic lack of understanding of how communities work on the internet and how people can change and adapt their mannerisms to fit in different places. I don't write silly oneliners here joking about Zoro's powerlevel, for instance xD

While I don't have any problem with the forum itself or the user who created it, but that forum already has some of the most toxic users that were once on OJ, the horrible Zoro vs Sanji debate, and of course power level junkies.

One piece is a shonen manga with is about battles, I can understand user who are part of the arena section. Their are some interesting thread who getting opened, it make fun and remind me the old days of Oj.

I can understand you worries, because that the forum open a Sanji vs Zoro thread for the one who want to talk about it, yet I still would give the site a chance to proof himself to not beeing a only a battle forum site.

Btw i requested to be deleted honestly no point in staying when things are going down .(In fact my relationship with oj mods is good untill recently i guess)
However if i angered your community by spiting nonsense here i apologise. I honestly want good things happen here.
If people resist change they will go for other stuff. To tell you i know AP for long time but never registered because i dont see any valuable discussions here.This is the truth. Userdatabase is veruly old if it fails to upgrade then i doubt you will find new members visiting here.

Nah bogard is fine. I can tell you some of ther posters like doffy , sanji or zoro fanboy posters are infact bad. Few of them on oj are very toxic. In fact i even stopped posting for a while.
Hard truth for old op users :Younger generation prefer power level contest. We need to accept that hard truth .
