Plot making Big Mom crew less effective doesn't matter considering everything in the story is plot. And in-story they don't know they are characters.

The chapter was fun.

I liked the bickering.

I am interested on where the starving thing is going, confrontation with the vinemokes? Internal fight in BM crew because some think it's poisoned?

Big Mom looks cool. Can't say I am much interested in the power level thing considering she is starving which is much more important and also she lost weight. And I like the ogre impression she gave in her fat form.

So with Big Mom having Zeus I wonder how they keep their distance. Considering how fast he got to the seducing woods I am not sure anything can outran her.

I think the matchup of who's on the boat is actually kind of perfect for Big Mom and all her soul aspects. Nami's already got an affinity with Zeus so she can engage him solo, Jimbei the water guy seems a good foil for fiery Prometheus, Brook's already stood his ground against all four of them by himself so just having BM and her sword might be less difficult to hold out against, and he'll have Chopper for backup. Should be plenty of time to let the cake arrive or the Vinsmokes intervene.

Can't Daifuki's genie just push the boat in the correct direction even if the ship can't be steered by the helm? Just grab the back part and use its floaty powers to avoid falling in the water while it does so. Most likely none of the other ships have anyone who can regain their directional stability so he might remain a threat but it doesn't look like most of the others will.

Isn't the cover story the same thing as the last one only starring the Tontatta and not Ideo?

I'm still really pining for another Big Mom Flashback, because I need more info on how Streusen influenced her, and to get the confirmation of him being Perospero's father. Now seems like it might happen real soon. She's about to keel over and die. The thinning over the past two chapters have been very interesting for me.

I'm beginning to actually worry that Big Mom could really die. This thinning seems to be a serious issue and Sanji and the cake is still a few chapters away…

I think the % rate of Smoothie dissers is close to 100 but to me she's fine. Firstly, to "go against" Smoothie with anything other than the short little clash between her and Reiju, you'd have to be at Luffy level, and there's only one there who really is and he's kind of busy with his own thing (as if we want to extend the arc any more to have him fight a third commander). Secondly, Smoothie's powers leave the victim kind of gross and disfigured, without even clarity about how/if one might recover from that state, and outside of maybe Bege there's no one we really want to see left in that state. And thirdly, Smoothie does play a role… as a threat. She makes the situation all the more dire from the fact that they have to escape her or else, so when Big Mom is assumingly unconscious from the cake and Katakuri is down, it's not like the Big Mom pirates have played all their trump cards still and were totally defeated by half the Straw Hats. So to me, Smoothie's role as the "background threat" suits things just fine, and we need to hurry and get the f*** out of this arc anyway before Dressrosa happens again.

While I'm not happy that Smoothie barely didn't do anything this year, I will agree that she is still a huge background threat. Luffy struggled against Cracker and is now struggling against Katakuri there isn't anyone I could see take on Smoothie, maybe Jinbe can clash with her but just a clash tho him defeating her is something I can't see happening and I know there are some people out there that think the Vinsmokes will gang up on Smoothie yeah no I don't see Oda doing that. Also besides Smoothie there is also Compote, Compote probably isn't as powerful as Smoothie but she is probably almost as threatening as her and she might also have a really hax df which could make her a very tough opponent to fight against. So even Big Mom gets knocked out by the cake and Katakuri gets defeated, you still have characters like Smoothie, Compote and others who are still a huge threat to the SHs and co.

So katakuri, cracker, snack all defeated after this, yet smoothie doesn-t even take part of the action? No way. Either reiju or maybe jimbei takes her out. Still wierd if jimbei beats someone his captain can only beat with help and hard this arc,

There isn't going to be any other major fights other than Luffy vs Katakuri, as much as I would love to see a fight with Sanji but at this point I doubt that's going to happen. If there were going to be other major fights it would have been set up by now and I highly doubt these other fights will happen after the Luffy vs Katakuri fight, at best we might get some clashes here and there but that's pretty much it.

First of all Reiju taking out Smoothie please Ichiji who is probably stronger than Reiju was easily defeated by Katakuri, Reiju has no chance against Smoothie and her poison are useless against her since she can drain it out of her body. The only one I could see take on Smoothie would be Jinbe and even then I don't think he can defeat her, unless Jinbe and Smoothie fight for more than 10 hours before finally defeating her then sure but that's something I doubt Oda will do.

Luffy struggled against Cracker and is now struggling against Katakuri, if Smoothie gets defeated in less time than her fellow Sweet Generals that would be very underwhelming imo. Oda could have made either Sanji or Capone fight Oven back at Cacao but he avoided it and he could have made Carrot in her Sulong form fight against Daifuku but again he avoided it, we're going to be getting some naval battles but actual major fights other than Luffy vs Katakuri is something I don't see happening at this point.

IMO, the fact that both Smoothie's and Daifuku's fleets came to attack the Straw Hats, and Carrot attacked Daifuku's, is the final nail in Smoothie's coffin

Not that I am some reiju fan but luffy's side doesn't really have many people that can take out sweet commanders, if even luffy himself has big trouble with them. Even capone seems more likely to take on someone like oven. There is reiju and there is jimbei.

I do think reiju is the best from her family because her poison powers(magellan like) look more dangerous then whatever judge, ichiji, niji, yonji seem to have, and judge got 1 shot earlier by bm. And she did have clash with smoothie at the wedding, maybe there is a type of poison that smoothie won't be able to extract from her body with her powers. Or hey, maybe pekoms takes on smoothie.

Now that they know the cake is on capone's ship and they could try something ,for sure their ship will get attacked. How much of a proper battle will sanji or capone get, idk.

But if all other commanders are taken out, why is oda keeping smoothie around, for what.

The only reason I could see is if the Strawhats have to flee Wholecake and Smoothie could play the role as the last pursuer. Which would make sense at this point, since Daifuku is out of the game.

Ever since Cracker showed up it became clear that almoat all of BMPs were going to be taken out. Snack was already gone, and Cracker was ggoing to be gone soon so thats 2/4 that are done for. But because of Nami Luffy only went like 90% all out and spared island destroying attacks like KKG, meaning someone else was going to eat it. And the fact that 3/4 are going out, is bad news for Smoothie.

Its a domino effect and Smoothie is the last domino. How or when its going to happen is vague only for now.

1. Carrot is very fast. Her speed is really high! How does she fly like that, I wonder?

2. Daifuku. It’s interesting that genie turns out to be an individual person that is able to speak. I guess it’s a good base for developing numerous theories. For all I know, we haven’t seen any Devil Fruit recruits yet.

The basic slash attacks are massive but not really special, I think. Look at the Shichibukai’s basic attacks, for example.

3. Big Mom is an intriguing character. Nobody has seen her in such a condition, so it’s the first long hunger tantrum in her life. It means that she’s never attacked anybody while having such a huge hunger pang. It can be a new level of power. Seems like it knows no bounds.

Daifuku was called an incompetent, amateur, hopeless case, clown. . They also say he is down for the count and we see a growl coming from his ship which I assume is Daifuku growling. That moment when you realise that one bunny just took down a whole fleet and has a veteran "down for the count".

There is no rule, it’s just standard courtasy. If you want us to read your posts make paragraphs. Count Mario makes post ten time longer than you but they are not wall of text. It will also help you make thing clearer for you so everybody has to gain from it

Like I said before if I get into it then I get into it, that's something I can't change but I'll try my best to keep things shorter. I just like putting everything all at once, if I split up my texts would that be any better?

They're not talking about the quantity of your writing. Plenty of people write as much and more, and I enjoy reading people's thoughts. They're just saying after you type out everything, go back and add in breaks to make actual paragraphs. It'll be easier to read, and I'm sure you'll get more responses that way.

If it turned out she was was taking a page out of the "Lazy Justice" hand book I think I'd be a little more satisfied with her. But a whole year with Smoothie doing almost zilch? Come on Oda as the only woman Sweet Commander give her some spectacle that we will remember for years to come.

Yea, that's really what bugs me the most about Smoothie doing nothing, just perpetuating a very disappointing trend. (Thank goodness for Nami and Carrot this year.) Won't even lie, sometimes I look at the other commanders, and try to picture them being the opposite gender this entire time, would've been glorious lol

I think I do ultimately agree that her inaction (At least earlier in the arc with Brook) partly has to do with that just being her personality, but it still stings nonetheless when the year has ended, and all you can say is that she grabbed Nami once.

That's what I was saying earlier, Oda basically screwed her over. It's kinda too late in the arc for her to be causing the crew legitimate trouble (especially considering her powers), so if she tried to do something, Oda would of course have the crew escape and make her look dumb, and then we'd probably ridicule her even more for failing at her one notable action this entire arc. (Like we're doing with Daifuku right now, but worse.) At least when Big Mom gets avoided or whatever the hell happens next chapter, we can still say that she's done a ton of shit beforehand this arc to deserve that Yonko status. Smoothie on the other hand, she only got one chance. :getlost:

At least with her being on a ship, we can finally say that we know where she is, and attempt to be content with the excuse that she probably can't do much because her powers are seemingly only good for close-range combat. Like you said, being that unknown background threat.

But with all that said… Even if we were to end up mocking her, I'd ultimately rather have her be out there instead of Daifuku, so at least we can say she tried lol

Wouldn't it kind of been more logical to have the majority of Big Mom's crew/children be female, just since she's the only female Yonkou and it would be the best time to make the spotlight for seriously strong fighters be on the women's side for the bulk of it? Bit of a wasted opportunity but there you go. Honestly, it's like it went in the opposite direction; this arc plays way more heavily on the 'women are so bad at controlling their emotions' trope than would be expected.

This arc introduced some pretty interesting female characters, I'm fine if we don't see that much from Galette and Amande but I do want to see a bit more from Smoothie and Compote at least.

The only two Charlotte daughters that played major roles in this arc were Brûlée and Pudding, all the other daughters have only done a little bit here and there or barely anything at all.

You forgot Chiffon, but since she's a turncoat and has been one for longer than Pudding has, it's easy not to count her, I guess. The utility of the Mirror Mirror fruit could have been used by anybody so it's just happenstance that Brulee got it rather than someone else, her personality is hardly significant to her being the possessor of it. EDIT: Wow, just…so much petty whining! People complaining about silly characters, in ONE PIECE, seems like trolling at this point. People complaining that the BMP haven't slaughtered the Strawhats yet seems like trolling at this point. People saying that Jinbei could just grab everyone and they could get away through the water seems like trolling: "Hey guys, let's flee from a woman IN CONTROL OF A LIVING THUNDERCLOUD, by swimming through this here conductive-ass seawater!"..."Brilliant!" Big Mom'd Zeus their asses to kingdom come! X-D

I love where we're at, because at this point who can actually predict how this is going to play out? (Except for the Strawhats getting away; but that's not the point. The point isn't whether or not they survive, cause that's a foregone conclusion; it's the journey to get there). Cause there's no longer a Tametabakkokoko Box for all of us to look to.

But that's how feminist/minority/etc. representation is SUPPOSED to go. A great female character is one that could have easily been a guy with no effect on the plot, but was made a female simply to have different types of people in the story (except in the case where a story is written around the fact that a character is a woman, which is clearly not the case here).
