I was perfectly content to drop the subject as soon as Robby brought up that Meryem did make a complete 180 (again, just something I couldn't recollect for whatever reason), but it just kept getting brought up. Which was why I made an attempt to play off your post facetiously.

I need some plot guidance here. Here's my understanding of the two major situations going on now:
1. Beyond is planning on going to the DC with the Zodiacs, either because he thinks they'll end up being forced to work with his own group due to the harsh conditions, or because he figures they'll make for good fodder. Meanwhile, the Zodiacs are planning to use Beyond as a guide for their own expedition while isolating him from his group, in hope of finding miraculous natural treasures in the DC.
2. Pariston and the specialists were all hoping to dupe Beyond so that the former could "take control from behind the scenes." This is why Ging put such emphasis on being "No. 2," as the person who occupies that role is the one pulling the strings, while Beyond is left believing he's still in control. Now that the group is following Ging, and not Pariston, the latter is understandably pissed at being out-manipulated for the first time. The other, unseen group members making up the 25-man team could either be the Zodiacs, who only Beyond knew would be involved, or are simply characters who have yet to be introduced, which would make more sense as the woman with the quad-buns already supposedly knows them.
Right? Wrong? What am I missing here?

Every person has latent amount of Nen leaking through their nodes. Nen users can control the flow of them and stop them completely, but a normal person doesn't have the capacity to see nen even if they are releasing a small amount of it.
I don't care for the Prince's personality. Seems like just another "I can kill people for fun because I'm rich" dictator. Pretty unoriginal on Togashi's part. I do, however, like Ging's thinly veiled plot to intentionally bring out the worst in Pariston. To what end, though, remains to be seen. Also, as I said earlier, it looks like Gon is sitting this Arc out, at least for a while. Killua probably will, too, although we haven't seen what he's up to lately. I feel like while the business with Alluka was resolved, Killua has an obligation to continue to protect her, and may be caught up in that still.
I called it wrong, so long ago. I guess this needs to be changed.

they're allowed to still follow pariston if they so please so thats not it. Plus, Pariston and Beyond are made to be similar as they are both working for the same goal and Pariston isn't getting paid so its similar to something of a mutual relationship.

Speaking of revelations, it seems like the author is planning on bringing out the "worst" in Kurapika in regards to how he may have to deal with the prince, but ultimately the decision is what Kurapika chooses. Then we'll get to see how the whole affair affected him and how this may lead to his further impact on the story in a negative or positive way.

I have a feeling that the money has nothing to do with Ging's ability.

So I've just caught up with this series, and I only have one thing to say.

I've always heard things about Hunter X Hunter, but I was always too nervous to watch it. Mainly because I can't stand series where the good guys do nothing but show off and be badass all the time and the villains are utter crap.
So I was wondering if any of the villains in HXH are badass and, more importantly, if any of them are really clever and cunning. That's pretty much what I always wonder when I'm curious about watching a new series. Whether the conflict and opposition to the main characters are any good.

Ah. So the antagonists and characters are all compelling and interesting? Nothing bothers me more than a fighting series without good, tension full conflict. =P

In HxH? Yes, i think you will enjoy it.
For a Shonen Manga, it actually has a lot less fights than one would expect.
The first arc is somewhat typical shonen, but it´s fun. My reaction to it when i was watching the old anime (about 7/8 years ago) was that it was too cliché, but i changed my opinion quickly.
It´s actually a pretty dark series, and when your series begin in an island with the shape of a whale you might not be expecting some of the things they throw at you.
However it´s not a series that just throws random scenes of gore and gratuitous violence at you in an attempt to shock you. Those scenes are usually pretty well "calculated".
I would definitely recommend it.
If you will watch the anime, i´m sure you will love the arc that goes from episodes 37 to 58.
Before that it depends on what you like. Again, for a Shonen series, it´s pretty non conventional, so it´s hard to say if one will enjoy it or not.

Yes, you'll definitely like it then. One of the strong suits of Hunter x Hunter are how well the antagonists/villians are developed and i would dare say some may become your favorites.

Hisoka is a Murderous clown that has a boner for 12 year olds that can fight. He's one of the Villains. Meruem is a tragic character that strives to find himself since doesn't can't seem to match his intelligence or power only to (Ultra spoilers)
