@Kaiolino hopefully so. I’m hoping that we can get better pacing for the anime come April.

It would be nice to get a Simuldub but Toei wouldnt even let them Simuldub Dragon Ball Daima, so i remain skeptical
-
Well dragon balls a bit different because they want to make it a big event but yeah, not counting on it.
Emily is seemingly implying they’re completely caught up recording wise though lol https://x.com/emilyjfajardo/status/1845486800732635299?s=46&t=Kq3IHPuSvKT2MXKx8HKScQ

Daima’s dub is releasing next month though, right? Super’s dub was a year and half behind.
-
I don't understand why she says she'll miss working on it. They're not going to dub the Fishman Island stuff?
-
@Zephray I imagine it won't need to be "redubbed" - probably much like the sub version, they are just going to keep the audio track from the original and transplant it onto the remaster. So no need for actors and directors, just the technicians
-
There will be a small amount of new dialogue to record, because they're bringing back the original Next Episode Preview format with the Straw Hats talking to each other. And we know that there'll be some entirely new shots, so it wouldn't surprise me if they re-record a few scenes (such as the arrival in the New World) to better match the manga and smooth over any continuity issues created in the new edit.
-
I'm more or so wondering if they going to split Egghead into 2 seasons now. Since right now there are enough episodes for 3 voyages sets for Season 15 (this includes the recap episodes and next week 25th anniversary special.). Egghead, Part 2 will be Season 16.
-
Not sure what you mean about them fitting these into 3 more voyages. That would only work if each voyage was ten episodes (including recaps). More likely is...
Voyage Two 1097-1107 (12 eps when you include recap)
Voyage Three 1108-1117 (12 eps when you include two recaps)
Voyage Four 1118-1122 (6 episodes), Special Episode, Five FI-Redux episodesSo yeah, if I'm betting money, I'd bet that Voyage Four will include the first five episodes of Fishmen Island & the special episode. But I guess ten episode sets is always possible--would just suck since they'd really be 8-9 when you account for the recap.
-
Between the ADR director having brain surgery, the slow schedule, and these changes, I'm not expecting the new set to come until November, probably late in the month. :[
Really thought they'd start working on the movies by now. Wonder if they'll ever get to the backlog. Feels like a no brainer considering the anniversary, this slow in new episodes, and how popular OP has become.
-
Oh God Please Protect Emily!!!
-
Nevermind what I said. I was looking at the wrong thing on the crunchyroll app. I totally forgot about those last 3 Wano left over and recap episodes. Since on crunchyroll they those 3 episodes and the final Wano recap episodes part of the Wano section, not Egghead.

I would hope that Fishman Island: Special Edited Version will have its own standalone physical release, as it's literally intended to replace Season Nine. It would be extremely counter-productive for Toei to bury the recut episodes as episodes 1123-1143 instead of listing them as their own series. Imagine trying to follow that as a new viewer!
-
Yeah, unless these episode are a continued episode count from where Egg Head leaves off, I would assume they will be they're own thing.
We have 30 unreleased dubbed episodes left, including the recaps - so I think Two 15 episode sets to finish off the anime is the way to go. Fan Letter is in a strange spot because its listed as a special and not part of the episode count like 907 (Romance Dawn 2). Its probably too short to get a standalone release, but maybe they can package it with some of the other special episodes they missed? (Like physical release of Toriko Special they dubbed?). I don't see it getting included on the normal release if its a special episode, its more like Heart of Gold and the Episode of Series in that regard. But we'll see how Crunchyroll handles the simulcast placement. Then Fishman Island Remake could get one complete 21 episode collection set. I have to imagine Crunchyroll will make it a new Season listing within the One Piece page, and usually that means it'll be its own Season for physical release as well
-
The hiatus is the perfect opportunity for a Simuldub. Though I can't imagine they'll be doing it. We seem to have settled at a 22 episode gap.
I think Crunchyroll will reuse the original voice track for Fishman, but there may be the odd line they'll need to re-record.With regards to Daima, that technically is getting a simuldub. The first 3 episodes are airing in US Cinemas 10th November (placeholder) if they do air that day, then ep.5 would have aired days earlier, so they'll be 2 behind. They'll likely go straight to Crunchyroll right after.
-
@Luffy_80 In order to maximize profit i can see Toei holding back streaming the Daima episodes until January
-
I'd be fine with a two week delay on the dub; not sure why that hasn't happened yet.
-
@AceLuffy4ever possibly, I guess we'll see.
-
@Zephray I just don't get their mentality. They can clearly handle a simuldub.
-
No OP physical release in January. Still waiting for Dedede & Chainsaw Man, too…
-
@Elektrik-Dynomite Unlikely, the episode count seemingly caps at 14 because thats the mosf that can fit on two DVDs.
-
Well, at least the dub can finally catch up to the anime even if the anime is on break until April of next year. So plenty of time for anime watchers to read the manga and the cover chapter stories.
Edit: Now we need to dub the movies and older anime specials so we can have a huge collection of anime dub material to watch. Toei Animation is probably reading our messages right now. We need more dubbed anime outside the main series.
-
Yeah, now is the best time to dub the backlog. Really hopeful they’ll do this.
(lol, I think this message board is too small for Tori to know it exists. They’re likely checking social media comments more.)

Unfortunately, no news at the NYCC panel despite being at the biggest stage. They showed off (to the audience, not the livestream) 10 minutes of redone Fishman Island, but didn’t announce they would release the redone arc in English dub as well (nor anything else related to the English dub).
-
The english One Piece youtube channel have posted the preview for the first episode of Fishman Island remastered. Looks like the remastered will have its own episode numbering.
-
I really wonder if they are just sitting on the completed Egghead dub episodes
-

They absolutely are. They've strongly implied that they're caught up and dubbing week to week. For whatever reason, they hold off on releasing the episodes.
-
If they are dubbing week to week they are essentially testing out a simuldub scenario. Lots of things are pointing towards it being right around the corner when Egghead returns.
-
They've been dubbing week-to-week for months now. I wouldn't get your hopes up.
The Fishman Island dub would be a great place to start, since all of that content is likely already dubbed and will just need some tweaking. I don't see why they don't do a simuldub for that, at the very least. Even a two week delay would be fine.
-
Update on my progress of catching up on the dub. I'm currently up to 1074 (Gear 5 Luffy vs. Kaido is underway.) I alot things to talk about now. The dub handle the Toppi Ropo vs.the Straw Hats fight really, and I thought the Robin and Brook vs. Black Maria fight was way more better in the dub.
Zoro vs. King, Sanji vs. Queen, and Law/Kid vs. Big Mom were handle great in the dub. Sanji and Queen vas just did amazing job for their fight episodes. I really like how they handle the dub of Gear 5 so far. Colleen did an amazing job, I like that she's doing the Woody Woodpecker laugh during the fight. I like adult Momo's voice so far, it fits the character really well.

Marc Diraison to this day was one of the best 4kids voice actors, Crunchyroll should bring him back for one of Zoro's enemies.
-
@Captain-Krupp They should. It would be perfect if Guts fights against Yamcha
-
Man, rough few weeks for OP. Both manga and anime on break, plus it's been a minute since the dub. Any guesses on when a new set will drop? Praying soon; I'm almost caught up with the current episodes that're out. Really looking forward to Luffy's upcoming fight.
-
@Zephray hope you wait longer because we ain't getting it until April
-
I was talking about the dub, not the sub.
-
@Zephray the third or fourth week of November would be 12 weeks since the last set, correct?
-
Is it that far? Lordy.
I’m wondering if they’ll slow down even more considering the break and ADR director’s health.
-
Emily is fine as far as I know. Brain surgery sounds scary but I don’t think it will be insane recovery time or anything. We know recording being behind isnt holding them back, worst case scenario they would probably just get another director. I know most of us would love to get closer or a simuldub but I think we’ve been eating pretty good all things considered and will continue to do so.
-
I want for Emily to make it, I really like her she's really nice.
-
@Zephray If you're referring to Luffy's fight with Rob Lucci, then yes, the dubbed version might cover that fight. I initially thought you were talking about Luffy's fight with Kizaru and Saturn, which led to some confusion regarding your previous comment. Please forgive me for taking your words too literally.
-
Yeah, I was trying not to spoil for dub-only watchers. There’s a gorgeously animated fight on the next set.

While brain surgery can obviously have many complications, the chances any would lead to death is pretty slim. It happens, but from what I can find only 2-3% die and 5-7% receive permanent damage. Additionally, a large amount of those are from people who have emergency surgery due to their brain aneurysm rupturing, around 50% of those cases die within a few months.
In short, regardless of the future of the dub I wouldn’t worry about her too much. She should be fine.
