She had some meaningful interactions with Luffy and had an interesting back story. It's a bit arrogant to say she never was a contender. Especially if you say that just because you don't like her. I feel she has a unique fighting style of dodging and attacking from the back.

That could certainly be one reason but I don't buy it just yet. The hat was there when he was a baby so it could just be that they liked the hat on him and he grew up liking it as well. The fin and teeth get me though. He kept his teeth filed down and like Arlong, he apparently can replaced them at a moments notice. The fin popping would be something really unique if it only appeared during times of excitement. The full, half and one fourth breeds we have seen haven't shown anything like that. Well not yet at least unless this was the first example. I'm pretty sure it's something he can control it at will just like the teeth but the fact that all 3 of these fishermen attributes were hidden leads me to believe Dellinger has is own unique history to be explored like anyone else.
Or it could all boil down to him really liking human women and just wanted to look as much like them as possible.

Dellinger's cross-dressing doesn't really seem to care how much he looks like a woman no matter what Djola dressed him like as a child. He seems to have just picked items he finds convenient and is uninhibited in style. With kicking being his main attack and the restrictive Dressrosan feminine modes this makes sense.Honestly I wondered if the high-heels were a support concession to having a split-tail rather than true legs but he just seems to like them because they do more damage with the pointy heels.
It makes me wonder if maybe Pink's radical change in dress was to mollify the child while Djola's early teachings were happening, giving him a male role model. Damn Oda for making these characters so fully realized, We need a Dofla Family flash-back spin-off book.
It wouldn't surprise me if early into the 2015 return we get mini-flashbacks on him and how Hakuba came to be. Oda seems to be lining up a theme of contrast in these later fights and both Dellinger and Cavendish deal with a split nature.

At this point in the story I don't feel she will be joining. What I meant to say was if she were to have more panel time it could redeem her and not make her a useless character in the arc.

I feel like Oda is hyping Jimbei to join the crew for a reason. I personally think he is going to die. His unfinished business may cause him to sacrifice himself so Luffy will be able to be successful. It could be an impacting moment when they take on Big Mom.
Telling where the ship should go and actually getting there are two different things.
Example: Navigator can tell that the storm is coming. Helmsman can avoid it, or if necessity arises, sail within it.

Wouldn't be the same thing as Luffy doesn't exactly know what it means to be a Fishman in his world.

Red, blue, green and yellow are often the colors used for the most relevant/stronger characters in a bunch of series and I'm way to used to see it this way soo it may be me for under appreciating usopp that I don't see him fitting very well for having a color theme comparable with M3's colors.

He wouldn't have to know because he would be doing it unintentionally by making Fishman Island Straw hat territory. Luffy already united the fishmen and merfolk through his actions and didn't mean to. I don't see how him protecting an island couldn't cause those wills to still be carried on.
Am I the only one disturbed by Dellinger? Like I know he is supposed to be a human-fish man hybrid. But the way his character reads/talks is much less fish man and more fish. What I am saying is I feel like someone went out and got busy with one of the fighting fish. Not the fish men.

I would say that Lucci could have been between Rear Admiral and Vice Admiral while Luffy was A LOT weaker without gear second- he didnt instantly KOed guy with 800rokushiki? I know same like Sanji didnt broke at first through tekkai os same person but still. Gear Second gave Luffy amazingly big boost before timeskip because it pushed his body further far beyond its limitations. Now those limitations are not as low as they were.
Its like with real dopping - it pushes your body but if you train without it you are set to get to same limit as everybody else, you wont break all records by far because body capability also have its own limits.
Now Luffy should be fairly stronger, his body on its own should have also gotten stronger so I expect that gear second still gives him a boost but it still should be avoided as much as possible and it doesnt make him SO MUCH stronger than it made him before timeskip.
But I sure do think that Luffy will be able to pummel Doflamingo with CoA hardening on whole body + gear second.
Also you have to add that Luffy now is kind of pushed into using gear second as he should be fairly tired by now after all of fighting he did till point where he is and after getting attacked by Bellamy and probably taking hits for Bellamy not to die.

Still I have strong feeling that Doflamingos crew will be killed by Kaido or some of his man - it would rise up feeling of Danger that comes when anybody goes against Yonko, it would change a bit things in OP if some people can die even not being very big to entire plot like Whitebeard or Ace were and would also show and hype some of Kaido crew that Strawhats would have to fight sooner or later.
Law's never been shown to be able to attach something that hasn't been touched by his own power. Neither did he shown to be to able to resurect dead tissue, and let's be clear here, unless he does field surgery during his fight with Doffy, this arm is going to be beyond saving pretty soon.
Oda can make this injury pernament without creating a contradiction. Whatever he will or not is what I will judge him by.

Like yeah, Oda totally could make Law lose his arm by having the DoFlamingo fight drag out for 12 hours while the participant do their taxes but why would he when he's just provided a legit story telling reason as to why that won't happen? Really seems an odd thing to hang your "This specific incident is THE determining factor for the toughness of the new world" hat on.

Great chapter for me, barto shines each time he's on something and hakuba got his proper redemption slaughtering dellinger (i hope (s)he's definitely out of games, ko'ed enough people already). after gladius is passed over we'd start seeing some top seed executive going down, can't wait!
wonder if this line from zoro is foreshadowing something, i always thought happou navy will become some sort of allies with sh's but that seems to hint at something different. maybe i'm overthinking.

in this arc, also, we have the first time devil fruit users exploit the environment so heavily. we already saw aokiji freeze everything and akainu merge into magma but it's the first time, if i'm correct, that we see somebody use his devil abilities to interact with the battlefield and the surrounding environment to actively take advantage of it. we see pink swimming through everything but, more importantly, we also have diamante making the ground flagging, gladius inflating it to the rupture point and pica doing pica. it's almost as if oda expanded his way to use devil fruits and got excited by it, seeing new ways to explore df powers.
for christmas i asked santa i just wanted to see bellamy receive his deserved ass kicking, still waiting tho

I think that as we try to predict how he floats Oda might come up with something like "there is food in new world and as it makes you fat you also get lighter and lighter more you eat it to point that you start to float. Machvise loves it and it helps him with using his devil fruit. "
So perhaps Machvise himself is so light and he takes that shield everywhere so he doesnt start to float around. Also He might be filled with some of Cesars gasses or something crazy that it very hard to come up with I wonder if we will get an explanation why he floated and what his DF power is exactly.

Well he eaten King Punch to the face and then went back to fighting after few hours without any visible damage so I thought that as Suleiman gotten horned same as Dagama BG was good enough to get back after getting kick to neck.. Dellinger is too freaking efficient. He taken out Suleiman, Dagama, Ideo and Blue Gilly. Would be cool if at least one of 4 would get back to fighting.
Also Hajrudin was one of already beaten people and he still gotten back in worse state than BG and managed to win.
Oda has unused Orlumbus, King Punch is waiting for some decent enemy to land on and only person left to fight is Gladius beside Pica. And in Picas defeat I would not expect Orlumbus to play any role.
I guess that there will be somebody more to beat if Oda left guys like Orlumbus to go around. Maybe some additional fighting group will show up. Its as Zoro said- we dont know what might happen and Kings Punch is reserved for somebody else than Pica going along with words of Zoro.
Zoro btw should attack in exactly same moment of Picas attack. He didnt slashed him last time that Pika pika took control over smaller version of stone statue because he lost his footing and was sent flying backwards so I would say that Zoro will have to take some damage by playing like he is unable to block or he has to give Pica an opening so he goes and attack. I dont think that Zoro can defeat Pica without letting him land a hit or at least let him very close to doing so.

But none of those three have gotten back up and they will not be doing anything productive If they do. Hajrudin was taken down, but he was still conscious and able to move as seen by his performance, also, Oda didn't show us a panel where Hajrudin was taken down but rather one where he was already on the floor think about his future goals and whatnot.
Oda has unused Orlumbus, King Punch is waiting for some decent enemy to land on and only person left to fight is Gladius beside Pica. And in Picas defeat I would not expect Orlumbus to play any role.
I guess that there will be somebody more to beat if Oda left guys like Orlumbus to go around. Maybe some additional fighting group will show up. Its as Zoro said- we dont know what might happen and Kings Punch is reserved for somebody else than Pica going along with words of Zoro.
Orlumbus is playing the role of a knight (If we can call it that), he's not allowing the minions to interfere with Zoro fight.
Zoro btw should attack in exactly same moment of Picas attack. He didnt slashed him last time that Pika pika took control over smaller version of stone statue because he lost his footing and was sent flying backwards so I would say that Zoro will have to take some damage by playing like he is unable to block or he has to give Pica an opening so he goes and attack. I dont think that Zoro can defeat Pica without letting him land a hit or at least let him very close to doing so.
That doesn't make any sense, Pica can harm you without exposing his real body, Zoro is expecting Pica to pull an A1 and when that happens - Elizabello will shot his king punch thus leaving Pica naked and allowing Zoro to ended all.

Zoro landed only hit on Pica when P taken control over statue to attack Robin, Bart and Rebecca. When he is taking over stone it looks like he can escape in split second but not when he is trying to get an attack somebody while in "human shape" form. Zoro tried to cut him in half after landing but there already was no Pica in statue. Chapter 770 page 4
Zoro most likely didnt attacked Pica because he had no foothold for slash big enough. Just after landing before punch connected Zoro cut Pica shaped statue in half but looks like Pica escapes stone in perfectly timed moment.
Also to me it looked like Zoro refused assitsance from Elizabello so I wouldnt be so sure if King Punch will be used on Pica.
