Does it irritate you at all that Oda didn't even attempt to differentiate Machvise's fruit from Ms. Valentine's? That is why it needed a page of explanation. As I already stated, maybe Machvise will get up again and we'll get to see the officers can't be offed by characters that were fodderized by Luffy (Yeah, it was Luffy, but its still irritating).
He is a member of the Family, but Oda didn't really give much thought time to him, we a learn about the other officers, but Machvise was left alone even during the Flashback.
No, what happened is that Pika got distracted with Rebecca, Robin and Bartolomeo flying above him, and so he became exposed and unprotected, Zoro used that opportunity to land an attack on him, attack that a lot of people though would 1 hit KO Pika. At that Zoro said something like "I think I gotten the hang of this".
Truth is that he didn't got an hang of the attack at all, all that is happening is him cutting Stone and evading attacks. In reality is Zoro the one running around like a mouse and Pika going after him. Zoro comments are cocky ones, but they aren't true, the fact is that Zoro is the one in a disadvantage.
I'd say it's more of a stalemate at this point, rather than either having an outright advantage.
Zoro is clearly strong enough to defeat Pica, but can't find his real body to take him out for good.
Pica is using his clayface powers to great effect and keeping himself in the fight, but can't land a meaningful hit on Zoro for love nor money.

I think Pica will end up getting careless when he thinks Zoro can't possibly escape x attack, leaving himself open for an uber slash.
I'd say that it would be cool if Zoro could somehow pull Pica out of the statue and negate his clay assimilation ability but that seems way too smart for a Zoro fight.
Prepare for a big ass slash, Pica.

Machvise = Change inorganic stuff's weight
Mr 5 = Make parts of yourself explode
Gladius = Make inorganic stuff erupt/break/explodePowers are similar but have differences. Those are different fruits.
It's cool that there are similar fruits but with differences and others power/weak points.

Both dfs are highly different in the way their mechanics work. Their resemblance lies only in how similar a burst point is to an explosion. Nice chapter, it's pretty chaotic in terms of pacing but I guess that the feel Oda wants for his readers, much like Marinford. I'm hoping the next arc (Zou and Wano probably) is a little slower paced with less characters, the Donflamingo flashback being a good example.
The Jinbe coverstory is getting interesting. Reading the thread there was a good spot on the barrels being the same as the one the Straw Hats came across right before Thriller Bark. Maybe there is a conclusion to the Florian Triangle mystery after all. Actually looking forward to the next one, see who or what the big figure is.
Looks like Oda's going to use the Luffy vs Bellamy fight to highlight something meaningful to do with a man's path and dreams, but essentially Luffy gonna have to knock his ass out again, or Donflamingo might just do it on an itchy trigger finger.
Good to see Zoro, been a while. Also nice to see Hajrudin finish Machvise off. Hajrudin dreams of being 'King' of Elbaf, let's assume he's up there around the top tiers of powerful giants. I like the unpredictability of One Piece and not really bothered that a relatively unknown character defeated one of DD's officers. That punch was pretty cool and Hajrudin may be a sneaky build up for Elbaf. These Elbaf guys are deep, those warrior codes have them fighting hard.
Birdcage coming off means we might see Big Mom's crew and Nami, Sanji, Chopper, Brooke and co. Maybe Sanji will stay behind and the rest go to Zou. Will be interesting to see what happened when Big Mom's ship came because Sanji was ready to fight. This arc had been good to Sanji but I want to see him return with another Mr Prince moment.
I'm very certain that towards the end of this arc we're going to have major build up for what's coming, whether it be something to do with Big Mom or another big character, I think something unexpected will happen on Dressrosa much like the arrival of Kuma on Thriller Bark.
I calculated machvise's gravity force, when he weighs 1 million tons.
assuming he was a sphere with 1m radius (he should be around that size), the gravity at his surface should be around 0.06673 m/s2. This is 1/10th of Pluto's gravity force, doesn't seem like much but for a 1m radius object i think its A LOT
edit: if he managed to increase his weight up to 150 million tons, he would produce the same gravity force as planet Earth (almost 10 m/s2)
his volume would be 4.19 m3 and at this weight his density would be 3.58*10^10 kg/m3

Wow. I always thought Kubo's art was really amazing - I mean some of his character models and some designs. I don't know why but I always thought I people preferred Kubo's art style. Kubo's art really shines in black and white though… We all know he loves the colour white - even though it can be bland, I think it does really excel in manga format.
Oda's art is (I'd call it) Ambitious. It can go from a simple few lines to some of the most complex designs. I prefer Oda's art though. Even when black and white, you can tell it is colourful.

Pica vs Zoro was a background, not focus, for most of the second part. We have focus on Luffy and Bellamy, then Zoro and Pica, then Zoro and Orlombus, then Zoro and Pica again, then a page of Sai and Baby 5, then Hajrudin and Machvise for the reminder of the chapter.
It is focusing on too many things at once again.

Nice chapter, but I really don't get Luffy. What's his plan ? Let himself be pummeled until Bellamy's had enough ? Ahh bummer cause Pica is not even that strong in my eyes. He is just annoying to fight (tedious) and has not been that awesome to watch. I really think Trebol's fight will be the most exciting out of the main executives.

I think a lot of people are impatient because this is officially the longest arc in One Piece clocking in at 70 chapters and Luffy has not even begun the final round with the bad guy yet because we keep switching to fights between a myriad of characters that have had less than 5 lines. I won't be surprised if we near the 90 chapter mark. I wouldn't mind the length if there was more focus.

I don't think there needs to be a full explanation of every ones powers when said power can be pieced together from evidence in the panels we've seen it in action. Besides if it was a drawn-out/extended fight or a straw hat was fighting Mach then we would have got an explanation. I wouldn't really call that rushing

This I posted on July 4th for chapter 752 and I still believe in this, "We have no idea if he is gonna interfere in this arc or not. I mean seriously, it's crazy. Additionally, we might get a big plot twist with those levels to get to doffy. I don't see this arc ending until March of 2015."

To be fair for impatient people following a weekly manga is probably one of the hardest hardships they would have to endure, I would suggest them to start another activity and let time pass by for a while. For those unable to enjoy a slow ride reading in bulk is the better option, so finding a different hobby sure seems fitting.

I loved this chapter. Vise going down means the rest are sure to follow. We're in the finally stages! I'm going to say 15 chapters left in the whole arc.
Also, I figured you people would at least be happy that Zoro is struggling against an enemy again.Yeah he's nowhere close to losing, but this is the longest fight he's had in a while and Pica is still going strong.
It's not like Zoro doesn't want to. Pica is annoying an he keeps running. Unless Zoro finds a way to isolate him from the stones, that fight is never ending.
Then he could focus on that rather than keep delivering his cool lines. Pica isn't running since he's focusing his attack on him. He is dodging.

So yeah, I enjoyed this chapter (bit too much Zoro for my tastes), especially Baby 5's misinterpretations.
Looks like ol' Machvise won't be getting character development on par with the other family members after all.
If he keeps going up after Hajruddin's punch he will end up as Swiss cheese from the bird cage's strings.
Machvise's power changing the shield's weight doesn't really make sense - when Dellinger kicked him he hurt both of them, and you can see at the top of the page that he didn't strike the shield.
Ugh…. this Zoro VS Pica fight needs to end NOW. So does the Franky vs Senior Pink fight. The fights in this arc have been unbearably dragged out. Its crazy how the anime is actually on these same fights because the manga doesnt hurry up and end them already. C'mon Oda, you're better than this....

A full chapter focus could probably have made all those things happen. We did see him getting beaten in a few panels in other chapters, but I know you mean a more focus on it.
I know people don't like Zoro as much as they used to (or hate him even more now), but to me it didn't feel like it focused on him to much. I feel Oda was trying less to give a focus on a less important battle (at least what I feel is unimportant) to show of more of Pica, and show how it is affecting the other battles.
Just my two cents
The reason I don't want Zoro is the same reason I didn't like the Usopp scene back in Punk Hazard with Buffalo. He got to shoot them because they force Law to give Usopp a chance.
There Giant isn't beating Machvise because he should. He gets to do it because when asked to handled an hindrance Zoro said why not. His smart line at the end don't help either. If he really have to show up he could happen to show up in time to be impressed by Giant power and comment on it.

In fact,we need.Don't let me be misunderstood here,i agree that Machvise is the Ton-Ton fruit user.However if you see the various posts in the forum you will agree with me that many readers don't know exactly what are Machvise's powers.And for that i blame Oda and not the readers,for not providing an obvious presentation of his powers like he did with all his previous charachers,regardless of his significance in the story.A small explaining that could take a few pages more.
Also,i didn't complain about the actual lenght of the fight.A drawn out fight between these completely secondary characters isn't needed at all.Heck,it could be as long as the Skypiea fights between the guerilla and God's enforcers .What i wanted is a small exposition before that,just like Oda did for every character until now.This has never happened before.
