Have you ever seen a bowling pin bending after being hit?
Yea I did once or twice <derp>You dont get me or you are having fun. One way or another- time for me reading some Blade of the Immortal before sleep </derp>

@LordEnel:
next week chapter + character pool.
Aaauu sweet, thanks!
Wonder if Chopper finally lost his place after M3.
Or Chin Jao is so desperate for a daughter-in-law he insists they get married mid-battle. I'm sure someone like Shaman-Mummy would count as a priest. Heh.
Well I agree, a shaman is the spiritual leader of a group, so I'd think he would be able to officiate a marriage.
… great now I want to read a fanfic of this happening! XD
So, next week we have chapter or break?
We will like have chapter next week, then the week after is xmas so likely no chapter then .. I think.
I can't remember last year- did we have a break at first of month, then 2 chapters then off for xmas? (or was it newyear?)
Very very nice chapter, don't know why so many people are complaining. We got some really funny moments with Pica's laugh, Orlumbus' Bowling and Baby 5 being Baby 5. We also got Dellinger, not to mention that Hajrudin epic scene.

I've been around for only 5 pages but I didn't see anyone complaining.
About the cover story:
Obviously I'm not the first one to mention Thriller Bark and Moria's offerings. But now that I think about it, it's probably not related at all LoL
The one from Thriller Bark was a fake made to look like the real thing. No wonder they look similar. As much as I want to know what kind of terrible beast the Florian Triangle hides, I think it's a wrong track.
I also thought about Davy Jones for a moment…nah.
I bet it's Wadatsumi. The poor guy is all alone, and those offerings are full of sake, aren't they ?
Might not be the most interesting outcome though.
Baby 5 first boyfriend was Law, he will kill Sai if he hear about this.

Darth is probably getting some essay on that subject ready as we speak
If you look Luffy in the punch he is using hardening (coa)…. So no problem.
And Admiral Orlumbus is a Lined Up Devil fruit user or and Order Order fruit.

Yeah, and he is puking blood at the same time, no problem.

Someone has already posted the schedule in the TOC thread in the general section: http://www.arlongpark.net/showthread.php?t=28240&p=3371439&viewfull=1#post3371439
For reference, the chapter we got today is in issue 3.

Darth and Death rhymes.:ninja:
Short chapter, only 14 pages, after a break it's kinda sad. And since next week could also be a break it's even more sad.
Also, looks like you don't have to be a straw hat to beat doffy's executives. Gladiators will do just fine.
I'm not sure what's up with Zoro, but for doing nothing to pica in hell knows how many chapters, he sure acts all superior and cool about it.
And a Sanji chapter would be a nice gift for christmas.
It was a 17 pages long chapter, not 14. Double-spreads and that jazz. And there's no break next week; in fact, there's a color poster and the results of the character popularity poll.
Then Christmas and the new year come, and the schedule goes crazy bananas so I can't help you there. . .
Ok, thank you for clarifying.
He was also watching the Giant with a serious face, does that mean that the giant also have a Devil Fruit?
That was not my logic.
A gag scene usually has characters going all demonic face while pointing out the ridiculousness of it. That wasn't the case, so Orlumbus' power is not gag-based.

Good chapter full of great moments overall! Loved at long last seeing what's happening between Zoro and Pica! The other fights that we see this chapter are funny, and I found myself rooting for that giant who wants to return the favor to Usopp! Only thing I didn't like what Bellamy having haki and using it on Luffy. Felt almost like an asspull bad on eveything we've seen so far from Bellamy. Still, I overall liked it! Oh and one more thing is I feel like it's trying to do too much at once, but if these fights were done properly I worry it'd only bog down the pacing only worse so for now I'm not complaining about that too much.
There're things wrong with this chapter, that in itself is an extension with the many things wrong with Dressrosa, and the climax in particular. . .
. . .but 1-I still think this climax in particular is not par for the course or what we HAVE TO expect from now on; 75% of the players are arc specific side characters, of course they're not about to receive as much development or panel time. Usopp got an entire chapter for his sniping feat, and I'm sure Luffy's final bout with Doffy will be pretty long too. I know it now seems like the trend will be rushed climaxes involving 70 different characters fighting for very scarce panel time, but let's wait before jumping to conclusions. Law's flashback and Usopp's sniping gave me hope that, when Oda thinks it's time to go back to focusing on a scenario, he'll do it no prob.
2- From an action, fanservicey, brainless fun POV, this chapter delivered. The double-spreads are pretty, Pica doing things on a massive scale at least looks cool, and the Sho Ryu Ken was a great moment if only at a very basic shonenistic level, plus it's a giant doing SOMETHING! It was a short scuffle between undeveloped characters? Yes. The Doffy's deserve better? Yes. But for what it was? It was cool.
I agree with this post and hope he is right.
First things first… about that punch Luffy took, my Idea is that he was still offguard and the only thing he could do was to use Armament Haki in order to lessen the pain of the punch.
So that means crew order is Zoro > franky >Luffy >Robin > Sanji.
Luffy > Chinjao. Lao g > Chinjao. That means Luffy is executive level. Not high executive
Dofla > high and normal executives
To reinforce my point, Dellinger > Bellamy and Bellamy > Luffy
So in actuality Chinjao was just shit and Luffy isnt even worth being on Bellas fanboy level.
So Dofla > Luffy Low Difficulty.
My twocents from spoiler thread.
well, I don't think that way… I think Law and Luffy are a bit higher than High Executives in terms of power but even both of them together are nowhere near defeating Doflamingo alone...
I guess after Luffy tank some of Bellamy's attacks, Bellamy would pass out; but I think for the last fight, It should be Luffy vs Trebol and Doflamingo vs Sabo
I think after the arc, some of the participants like Suleiman, Bartolomeo and Bellamy would join Luffy as his Sub-devision commanders. I think if he wants to go anywhere near Kaido, he needs more man power and more crew; I think those three are the best of all since:
1.Bartolomeo wants to join Luffy's crew; why not become a sub devision and help him with his full crew?!
2.Luffy has had lots of effects on Bellamy and he kind of owes his life to Luffy and Bartolomeo; he is also mentally down and has lost his master.
3.Suleiman is a home-loving person on exile.
... other people might join as well but these three are the most likely of them all, from my point of view.
P.s: have you noticed that we are missing a big name here?! I can't see Mr.Store anywhere... don't you think he is up to something?!:ermm:
You are mistaking the order of things, I think. It's "They are underdeveloped because they weren't given enough panel time" not "They weren't given panel time because they are underdeveloped".
And just because you acknowledge it's superficial, it does not make it less superficial, you know?
Just because something is superficial it doesn't mean it has to be bad.
They were underdeveloped, because obviously, at least for me, those two characters existed ONLY to remind us of Elbaf(and to hype it) in an awesome and memorable way. I mean just look back at those two characters actions in this arc and it's going to become painfully obvious, that they were created just for this one scene, because they didn't do absolutely ANYTHING else that's worth mentioning. Hell, even ton ton fruits was completely useless and unnecessery until today. Once again it's obvious this fruit was given to Machvise just to execute this finisher.
Oda said in some interview/sbs that when he creates characters, he always thinks of how they will end up in the future and everything else is just guiding them to that place.
Panel time doesn't have anything to do with it, really, because there was nothing to develop in the first place. From the beginning they were just tools to execute this scene, to leave some hints (there is a king in elbaf, and giants believe in some kinds of gods in the sky), hype up giants and their land, and add another ally to Luffy's collection. There was no indication of anything deeper/more interesting behind them. They were superficial, because they were meant to be.
They did what they were supposed to do, and they did it good.
Now you're probably going to argue that Oda shouldn't have created characters so shallow, just to pull off that one scene but what can you do? Accept it for what it is.
I, for one, am satisfied with this conslusion, because I can clearly see what was Oda's intention with them and that he executed it in a satisfying manner.
He had an idea for the final scene, so he introduced the characters, showed their powers that were necessery to execute that scene, gave them reason to fight, made them fight, and condluded it with the scene he had in mind from the start.
It's superficial, but logical and effective.
And it gives me hope that the other characters will leave me with the same good sense of closure. Machvise vs Hajrudin proved to me that Oda knows what he's doing with his characters. Well, at least with the most simple ones.
That would be mean, Oda's art is much better then Kubo's. Altough… yeah, I do see what you mean.
Are you saying that it isn't ?
Very good chapter as always, though I am a bit saddened that Machvise was taken out so abruptly. I especially liked the parts with Pica, his laugh is ridiculous even by One Piece standards. I'm glad that he doesn't seem to be as easy an opponent as Zoro thought. I was kind of worried we would have another Zoro vs. Monet, which would be really disappointing imo.
For me personally
Not a good chapter in fact a quite bad one.
Luffy vs Bellamy thing the way it was handled not just the punch but also the fact that we just start this "fight" and interupt it the very next second, so that the reader has a much harder time investing him/herself in it.
Then we get some kind of semi Zoro fight without even knowing much about what is happening between him and Pica and then some random bowling moves and in the end a guy with a copy paste DF (the ton ton) uses his unexplained abilities (where he just randomly says X number and he weighs that much) idk why he wouldnt just say 1 bill tons all the time but ok whatever. And the giant uses some I will die move and throws him against the cage and Zoro says that wont be up when he wakes up.
The end
So yeah not a good chapter in my book
Bellamy is actually smiling right now.
What the hell? I guess this really is how he wants to go out.
Would be cool if he dies
Yea I did once or twice <derp>You dont get me or you are having fun. One way or another- time for me reading some Blade of the Immortal before sleep </derp>
I get what you're saying, I'm against the idea of this being a Devil Fruit.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
That was not my logic.
A gag scene usually has characters going all demonic face while pointing out the ridiculousness of it. That wasn't the case, so Orlumbus' power is not gag-based.
I haven't said the attack is 'gag' based, but the attack comes with the territory in which Orlumbus walks. If I were to scream at you 'Align' out of no where, you're brain will most likely tell your body to align, but we can wait and prove you wrong by page rather than common sense.
RIP Machvise. When there's such a big group of antagonists it's given that you can't develop every one of them, but Machvise was exceptionally bland, worse than Hody's fishmen pirates.
I also can't see why people are that much annoyed with Zoro. He's having fun fighting with Pika, and for once, i can't predict how Pika can be beaten. Haki? He's practically immortal.
next chapter, zoro will cut the birdcage.. DOONGGG..
next chapter, zoro will cut the birdcage.. DOONGGG..
Next chapter Bellamy will awaken CoC…DOONGGG..
A sorta meh chapter, considering last week, and we didn't directly continue.
A great filler chapter when reading it all back to back though, but it took me out of the momentum.
They are not 'exactly the same', we already know that offerings went missing in an earlier chapter of Jinbe's arc and the one in Thriller Bark was a fake offering.
So the pile of barrels Jinbe's found is the missing offerings and what ever the giant figure is, is the one who took them and the one that flung the buildings of the seacat's town up and out of the sea, where they landed on the port town.
Yeah it makes sense. I already knew the first barrel in Thriller Bark was fake. It was just interesting for me to notice the similarities with the objects.
However, since Jinbe is still most likely in the New World (judging from the last appearance in G5 headquarters, though his current location is not specified in the story covers so who knows), the giant sea creature might not be as relevant as I originally thought.
BUT, if there are more of these creatures around, which could be 'masters of the sea' – due to their size -- the creature was maybe responsible for the smaller sea creatures to attack The Port City.
That is a stretch though and very unlikely. It's something less complicated for sure.

Zoro just needs to hit the real body instead of the stone he controls, Pica already realized he's no match for Zoro so is practically on the run, what a pussy.

Considering that the soldiers were questioning the alignment and are all still in bowling pins position after being hit, I dunno. Shouldn't my brain tell my body to not stay like that after being hit?
Heck, for all we know, Oda might have come up with a bowling DF. That would be truly insane, but definitely One Piece.

Yes, but in this case is like they entered in an alignment trance which then turn into a bowling game, like I said before you have never seen a bent pin.
I would much rather have seen a Strawhat defeat him, but whatevs.

I find very nice how all those guys need to join forces to completely defeat the Donquixote Family, it's like a Lil bit of taste of all the power is needed to defeat the villian in the future Yonko arc, either Big Mom or Kaido is gonna be at least twice bigger than this.
It's great that we finally get a chapter! Though, I might actually stop following OP weekly and just read it in bulk from now on. It seems like I don't enjoy the current stuff right now, especially the forced dramas. Also, Bellamy is trash in the eyes of Doflamingo, but he just hurt Luffy… and I have to settle with that until the plot focus on them again. The thing is, unless Bellamy really dies after that attack (like Luffy repeatedly pointed), I wouldn't really care about Bellamy and his deal at all. It is probably better if his character is finished off on Jaya IMO.
Kinda sad to see Machvise go. We've been with the Doffy Pirates for a while now, after all.

Let's just hope the Strawhats will be more involved lol
I'm sure it's been mentioned, but major foreshadowing going on. I think future commanders under the Strawhat alliance. Elbaf mention clearly. Admiral willing to send his whole fleet.
Awesome fight, not even mad. Clearly we were shown these guys for a reason. Hajrudin for Nakama!

machvise is literally not even a character
With Buffalo getting all those scenes during Law's flashback, Machvise has become the fillerest officer of the crew.
He's literally defined only by his "-in" and ton ton fruit
I also liked that Zoro got a face-fault. He hasn't been silly in a while.
So someone who Luffy one-shotted just one-shotted Machvise, and he was supposed to be one of the "undefeated" members of Diamante's army. Wonder how pathetic they would've been in the tourney against the 4 block winners.

He did break half the bones in his body doing it.
So it looks like Jinbe stumbled upon Wadatsumi. I assumed he would get his own cover story but maybe he becomes Jinbe's travel partner and he stays in the picture full time.
I'm slightly disappointed that wadastumi is back in the story
Jinbe couldn't join the crew as the sun pirates needed a captain
!
I'm slightly disappointed that wadastumi is back in the story
We do not know yet if that's him. When he was last seen, the kraken (giant octopus named ?sarume?) was taking him to the North (pole?e farthest reach of North Blue?)
It could mean that they didn't get far before Wadatsumi awoke and escaped the kraken.
Or it could be a totally new really huge giant. After all, Wadatsumi isn't the only being that huge. San Juan is bigger. So maybe even more of them ( them being 'fucking huge giants').

Judging by his size compared to Sanji's in the panel he's defeated, Wadatsumi seems around the same size as Oars.
Next chapter Bellamy will awaken CoC…DOONGGG..
I actually called that shiy +WW3 as a result.
