Imagine reading the chapter on kissmanga where right below the cod spread is the first panel with Viola.
The fact that Viola alluded to the possibility of Luffy becoming a toy means that it will happen.
Or maybe it means that Usopp won't be allowed to sit the climax out and will have to fly over there to prevent Sugar from turning Luffy and co into toys, and we'll have a second chance at both an on-panel Usopp fight and a decent showing of Sugar's power.
I don't see something as HUGE as Luffy turning into a toy to happen so late in the arc, unless Oda repeats the Robin scenario and shrugs it off almost instantly and without any drama nor consequences, which would be a severe disapointment again.
So I hope it's the first: a way to force Usopp back into action.
Also, with Kanjuro there meaning having access to flight, I hope Kin and Kan also fly with him and get some action themselves, cause I still believe and hope the Colosseum fighters will all be eventually dealt with and the real one on one's should be for Robin, Barto, Usopp, Kinemon. . .Which this chapters seemed to "start" pointing towards.
It's already weird enough that out of the 3 strongest subordinates, 2 will be taken out by either arc specific characters (Kyros + Rebecca) or just a very recently introduced character with who knows how much future appearances ahead if him (Cavendish). Usopp just can't sit this one out, and Kinemon has seen a decline in panel-time that could be solved this way.
I still don't get why Doffy's henchmen are a problem for the Strawhats.

Thrown into the scrapyard. . .Yeah, you might be right on that. I just don't see how we'll have the time to stop and show the drama. Shouldn't the SH's suddenly go all "the hell am I doing here?", or they immediately rework their memories into one of them being the captain all along? And being called the "marimo headers"? Or the "long nosers"?
Also, if Oda decides to go that route it could give him a pretty good excuse to go back to the Sunny momentarily and see their reworked memories at work. . .
. . .but I hope it's just an excuse for Usopp to fight, nothing else, and relegate Sugar to using her high speed movement + use of diversified toys for different uses like offense and defense, and Usopp using his brains to avoid being insta-toyed every time she touches him.

Gladius is plenty strong himself, and the team up is also happening because Gladius has a massive back-up in the form of an army of giant unkillable zombie toys. I think the team up is justified.
Great chapter, I really enjoyed it. I'm actually kinda hyped for Rebecca's fight. I don't think she stands a chance, but I hope she can hold her ground until Kyros comes to help her.

This arc they're running, running, jumping and running to get to the castle they were just in. Every arc is now making it from point A to point B, while constantly being held up. This happened in some arcs before, like Impel Down, but who holds Impel Down as their favorite arc? I know that the journey is the destination, but I just want One Piece to get somewhere

Then Law fight Dofla alone while Luffy is jumping around in despair because no one notice him.

Don't compare these arcs to Water 7/Enies Lobby, Sabody Archipelago, Impel Down, or Marineford. The circumstances were different in those situation. Aside from those arcs, name me one arc that doesn't prominently show the Straw Hats running amok everywhere.

Jeez, honestly, I know the build-up is slow and everyone is so butt-tight on when the next chapter might show some flashy fight, but can you at least try to appreciate the development that is being made? Not my favorite but. . .I kinda really like Impel Down. I think it's a great arc. Had Oda developed Domino, Sadi and Saldeath a bit more and given them something else to do, and didn't rush the ending so much, it would've been easily among my favorites.

Are we really so down on our hopes that we'll go that far? I don't think she'll job, honestly. She already got too easily handled by Sugar, not a second time. Please.
And if someone else is to join the fray so these turns into either two 1 on 1's or a 2 vs. 2 a la Usopp/Chopper vs. Mr.4/Merry Christmas, hell, I'd be up for that too. But even the current scenario is good enough for me as long as it doesn't turn like your "worst case".
