The "Lucy" stint Sabo and Luffy pulled off was kinda an homage to Master Roshi of Dragon Ball right?
You mean Roshi's Jackie Chun persona?

No Master Roshi himself.. Jackie Chun had blue hair that distinguished him from Master Roshi..
Also sabo wore glasses similar to master roshi

Jackie Chun just had a gray wig on…
But the point I made was the disguise. I guess Lucy does also resemble Roshi's normal look a bit too.

Uhh Jackie Chun had Slightly Blue Hair(dunno the color) but theyre still the same I just felt lucy was closer to Master Roshi than Jackie Chun

Yeah cool, let's continue to do that thing with Dragonball we don't do with anything else and treat the anime (and dub!) as canon.
He had gray hair.

Oh I see.. I thought he had blue hair lol my bad
Man what was the deal at the end of Thriller Bark with those creepy, weird tentacle monsters. Lola and the rest of them got out of there alive, so I'm wondering when Oda'll touch upon whatever those were.
JImbei little adventure will face off with this creature
Luffy's hat.
As a semi-farmer. (I raised goats and chickens) do you know how quickly straw goes bad? Get it wet, and poof, insta-mold! It is terrible.
Luffy would have to replace his hat like every week. No wonder the straw hats are always broke.
I hate Nami's new hair. Can't stress this enough.
Also, sometimes I'm bothered by the fact there are still huge blanks in what SH did for 2 years.
I bet that we'll see what they did once they have serious 1 on 1 fights like with the CP9. I guess we'll also learn why BB's lvl 6 nakama went to prison (hope Vasco fights some drunken Monk style!)
I just found out every good Crew needs a fishman. Someone reliable needs to pull out all the DF users outta the water if there is an accident with the ship. DD has Dellinger (though he is only half, but thats fine), WB had Namur (the 8th commander), Luffy will get Jinbe.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
It's also funny how CC was like "SH, you can't defeat me, I'm protected by Doflamingo and the Yonkou!" And a few volumes later we find out that one Yonkou (BM) wants him dead cause he stole her Money.
Silly little irrelevant detail but I liked that Coby was one of the people that Luffy remembered on this page.

So, I was rereading some Punk Hazard and I think it's entirely possible Brook can cut steel now. How do I make this assumption? Well, he defeated the little dragon, which was said to be tougher than the big one, which in turn seemed more enduring than a Pacifista. There's also a scene where the dragon crashed headfirst into a steel wall so hard the metal cracked and was completely unharmed.

Don't know about cut, but Soul Solid may let him freeze it so it's fragile enough to shatter.
Brook knows the breath of all things, even though he has no lungs! Yohohohoho!
I've been thinking, why Luffy never got Lucci's name right ?
A notion I've had is that the Kidpookins might beat the Straw Hats to Big Mom. I mean, given Law's big speech about how ALL the new generation are shaking things up, it'd kinda suck if only the Straw Hats got to give the boot to the old guard, don't you think?

Big Mom won't be offscreened.
Big Mom won't be offscreened.
That would be a bit anticlimactic, but I think the three Captains might be able to take her down, particularly Apoo, whose ability seems particularly overpowered. I mean, he fatally wounded an Admiral! Or rather, would have if the Admiral hadn't been a Logia.

You gotta remember that this is the Straw Hats's story. They will be involved, whether as main players or supporting actors.

Or… how about they work together to take her down? That's the more likely scenario in Big Mom being taken down.
They work together to take Big Mom down and then fight over the spoils.
More like after they work together, Kidd gets ready to fight over the spoils while Luffy is all "Ehhh, it wasn't over the treasure, I wanted to kick her ass."
But what if she has meat candy?!
I think Kidd and company are supposed to be "the bad ones" of the Supernovae so I'm not sure Luffy would team up with them myself.
Also, Law should at some point make an Ener face upon discovering his powers don't work on Buggy.

Closest to my opinion.
I have the notion, based on Mom's reclining couch that she could be a Rokukurobi from Japanese myth, though her she may only be called a Snakeneck Tribe.
With her cannibalizing 'crew' members and being shown her ship is a giant candy themed, and a least the prow is alive enough to resolve and sing.
My notion is this great big ship is essentially run by living snacks & her top nakama.
The power to bring baked goods to life will be hers.and obviously
I think the Straw Hats will have an enjoyable time as 'guests' there until the Kidd alliance shows up, and then they'l be sidelined or fight alongside her.
No other definite things present themselves except I hope mom recognizes Brook from his long ago career, and a Brook/ Apoo face off.
The story could go in many directions from here but those ones seem likely, funny and likely to resolve some things. With or without the box blowing out. l'm looking forward to it.

- Think Big Mom will be civil to the Straw Hats because: The long unresolved matter of who Rolling Lola's mother is. If it's Mom, Nami has a friend already.
- The Tea Ceremony: Before the Sunny Crew disappeared from Dressrosa we saw Momo practising a TEA CEREMONY. Also if Momo is an important figure from Wano, Mom may recognize him and stay her hand.
- Brook has a few links to tea himself, though more of the western style. He is also a famous musician and one who plays the more genteel violin. Perfect for an elegant cuppa.
- Big Mom likes sweets. Sanji cooks delicious sweets. If after finally seeing her he can stop crying.
- Chopper is a doctor. Big Mom has indigestion. He would naturally try to help with that.

This is pretty close to what I have pictured it. I just wonder what they do with Ceasar.
It's possible she could be a snakeneck, but im pretty sure she is based on Onibaba. She and Nami will definedly have a lot in common, which might even lead to Nami making a deal with her.

Yeah I get the feeling Big Mom will be calling Nami, Namizou
;p hahahaha
I found it funny how "I was chase by Garp" became the phrase to be considered a tough guy from the old era.
It's kinda like killing a sea king or kicking a VA ass to tell "I'm strong".
I wonder how strong Tsuru is? In her prime, Doffy was afraid of her, which I think says a lot, and in the Databook that came with Film Z it was said she, Sengoku, and Garp all enlisted at the same time.
Sometimes I forget how clueless Luffy actually is about a lot of stuff. Hell, he doesn't even know Nami's backstory. He just doesn't care but ends up by instinct helping/befriending the right people. That just makes me appreciate his character even more.

Well he knows a portion of Nami's backstory, hence why he destroyed her old room inside Arlong Park.
I don't think he knew, he just knew the blood was her's.
Arlong explained it to him (and he saw the effects of the abuse), which pissed him off.

Huh, while it was nice to read that event again, I saw something odd with Sanji, Nojiko and Genzo…
ch 93 pg 16 they look to be out of water as we can see Genzo & Sanji's legs and it looks as if Nojiko is standing but then… ch 94 pg 4 has them shoulder deep in water. Its not a case of 'well of course they took shelter in water' as we can see there is the deck behind them and they are looking in opposite direction from it, so they would still be safe sitting there. Seems its a goof of forgetting they did get out of the water.
Its really not important at all to the story but a fun trivia to notice.
OF course they need to be in the water so this could happen

Never saw this as a mistake, just took it to mean that they jumped in the water to escape the falling building.
I believe it's interesting in that it demonstrates occasionally these things don't quite make it to the page :)
A thought I've been pondering: will the Straw Hats run into anyone stronger than Doffy, but weaker than the Admirals and Emperors? I honestly have a hard time picturing someone like this who we haven't heard of by now: Doffy seems to basically be the #5 guy in the New World. Maybe an Emperor's First Mate or something, but I'm even unsure on that.

Its enough to get into conflict with silver medalist so to say. There are people around as strong as Doflamingo for sure and there is number of them. Somebody like Marco looked to be just about as strong as Doflamingo to me- below admiral but very strong. Also Strawhats meeting somebody as strong as Doflamingo would be deadly danger as he is getting defeated now by team effort of Luffy and Law with some tricks being used I say.
We are yet to see how rest of fight will go but in 1 on 1 without Law around with fresh Doflamingo Luffy would very likely have extremely hard time when it comes to winning.
Big Part of that is Doflamingos ability of course as without it he seemed to be pressed back by Sanjis barrage of kicks and had to went for using his DF power to stop Sanji.

If 7th Shichibukai is a new character then his definedly going to be stronger than Doflamingo. I also think Shogun of Wano could be close.

Oh yeah, forgot about #7. Some other characters that I think might be in that gap are…
So, I've begun thinking that Robin may be the strongest of the Mid Trio, not Franky. Franky fought evenly with Señor Pink. Robin lolnoped a guy who took out a guy the same rank as Señor Pink with very little effort on her part. Even smack-talked him a bit.
And they both now have better New World combat records than Sanji. Being the Team Jobber is suffering…

It's worth keeping in mind that Franky originally took three Doflamingo officers, a bunch of Doflamingo soldiers, and a bunch of Marines (potentially including a vice-admiral) to take down. Then, when everyone was distracted, he got back up on his reserve cola to destroy the factory, and fought Senor Pink on that. In a fight where they each tried to out-man the other by taking their attacks head-on. Where Senor Pink's attacks were all targeted at Franky's weak spot from the start.

Forgot he was low on Cola. No idea then. Still, Robin taking down Hakuba was extremely impressive.
Going back through that fight it left me in a dream like state and reminded me of the reason i fell in love with One Piece. The panels are less crowdy and the characters are more expresive and whatever is happening you can feel it by looking at the background it is like you are actually in there mix in with the characters. I am not saying One Piece is bad now but things sure have change, i guess it is due to the evolution of the story/plot and i think things will get more fast paste with the story getting more tense and more being at stake now than before, i just hope Oda put a little breathing room in between so we can relax with the story and relflect on where both the chracters and us readers are coming from (would'nt mind a little comment by the Straw Hats to show that they acknowledge those times too).
By the way, something I just realized: if one counts Robin vs. Hakuba as a fight, two members of the Mid Trio now have a better New World combat record than Sanji.
Being Team Jobber is suffering.
@Hamburger:

As much as I love Robin I wouldn't count that as a fight… more of an impressive feat.

If you give no consideration to the opponents and the circumstances surrounding them, yes.
But that would just be silly.

That's true, I doubt any of the Mid Trio could take Vergo.
MAYBE if Franky used the robot. Maybe.
Just like last year I'm going to note that the chapter when Gin appeared for the last time was chapter 68 - released exactly 17 years ago, which would make his comeback (by far!) the most awaited one in the whole One Piece. The funniest part is that probably most of the readers (out of the ones who still remember him :ninja:) still believe he'll return one day, and for a good reason they do!
