Caribou
Love: He shows up as a new pirate on the block and its revealed he showed up to the recruiting to personally kill the strawhats, and that's that kind of slimy ambition that's cool to see. He also decides to kill the fakers for wasting his time which is also cool to see. Even when he turned into a punching bag he was still involved in a bunch off funny scenes.
Loathe: His roles are kind of disjointed, first he seems like a sadistic weirdo but someone who has the air of being threatening and an ambitious guy and then he turns into punching bag, he keeps his ridiculousness and evil ways but its a sudden flip. He's funny throughout but I think Id like him more if ue stayed somewhat more threatening. Also the whole mermaid plot involvement, while being in character and not played for total pervertedness was an element in the story arc that I didnt like how it was introduced so he has a real in out in role in this arc which breaks up the flow. Hos cover story was ok but didnt do a lot. In fact you could say that of his whole character but him being a comedic role sort of makes up for that. And now that I think of it some of the mermqid abduction scenes were pretty gross artistically and all, I think Oda made those parts too ecchi-like and caribou goes from creepy to cringe when you see him creepy in those scenes

Caribou
Love
Much like Ceasar, Caribou is a carthartic character who I very much enjoy watching getting screwed over. Unlike many other wacky villains such as Buggy, Foxy, Wanze or Mr. 3, Caribou lacks ANY sort of redeeming feature, and thus when the karmaic world smacks him down by having him nailed into a barrel, or getting one shot by Pekoms.I did enjoy the fact that he was in actual fact a cowardly evil bastard rather than a mere psychopath.

Unfortunately that's literally all I have to say about Caribou.
He's by far the worst LogiaHis personality is slimy and uncomfortable and lacks ANY redeeming features, even fine with abandoning his crew and his own brother at that to save his own ass.
His role within the story he's involved in is minor and doesn't go anywhere of any importance. He's very much just…there post Fake Strawhats with a C plot of Mermaid kidnapping.
His coverarc was by the far the least enjoyable cover arc.
Something creepily fetishistic about the way he was smothering the mermaids he was kidnapping, that felt like it overcrossed a line. Say what you will about Absalom being an uncomfortable character to watch, Caribou for me was that but ramped up to 11. Felt like I was reading Fairy Tail with the way that whole scene played out.
Everything Caribou did, Ceasar did but better; Creepy Logia? Check. Irredeemable bastard? Check. Kidnaps innocents? Check. Psychopath who enjoys torturing those weaker than him? Check. Karma Butt Monkey? Check. Ridiculous facial expressions? Check. Villain who ends up being far more of a joke than he initially appears to be? Check.
Character: 0.5/5 I don't get what the point of this character even was, other than to showcase how Logias aren't impervious in the new world. Ceasar did this role far far better in the following arcs.
Design: 1/5 Ugly, ill fitting and worst of all not very memorable. This is the kind of design Oda usually gives fairly throw away characters.Oh, and my bet is on Ace for Male Princess. Gotta save Princess Ace.
Was it fetishistic? I mean the art is certainly creepy as hell but I dont remember him being all hisoka-like at the thought of it or not, do you have the panels where this happens, I might have to adjust my score here depending. Because human trafficking being evil aside it makes sense to acquire things worth money as a pirate but if he was YESYESYES'ing while doing that then that is something negative, very negative
