Jinbe took the Poneglyph with him! Yes! Oh boy, he can't join the crew soon enough!
Chapter 785: Even if my legs were broken…
-
-
Got a feeling we will end with some form of irony. Because of the Seastone walls of the Smile factory; it won't be destroyed by the strings. So all the people of Dresrosa can hide in there to be save.
The one thing they wanted to destroy (the factory) will be the only thing legt standing after the cage closes.
no way the entire population of the island would fit inside one building
-
It's obvious Doflamingo is not down yet.
Who wants to bet that he turned the building below him into a string cushion reducing the impact?Come on. Villains always get defeated right after revealing a trump card which fails to do anything to main character.
Dofla: Look at my hax ability getting even haxxier. Buildings turn into strings and attack you! I kill everyone!
Luffy: NOPE! Gomu Gomu Kamehame!
Dofla: X_x
Ffs, his glasses aren't even down yet.
-
Was that Blackbeards laugh or was that burgess laugh
-
My prediction for next chapter:
Gear 4 wears off, Doffy aint done and he´s using his awakened strings to catch Luffy, binding him like Sanji.
Chapter goes to Zoro, who will do an amazing attack to cut the birdcage.
Doffy ready for his finishing move on Luffy after talking a bit, notices that the birdcage is sliced.
Luffy using in some way CoC to free himself from the strings(explaining that with CoC Doffy cant control that person) and goes at Doffy using his finisher CoC move right into Doffys face….sunglasses fly away and birdcage vanishes. -
Was that Blackbeards laugh or was that burgess laugh
It's burgess, except MP starts it with a V instead of a W for some reason. BB's is "Zehahaha"
-
I don't think Doflamingo's out. Clenched teeth, kinda blocked. The question is, will Burgess finish off Doflamingo and get the credit?
-
It's obvious Doflamingo is not down yet.
Who wants to bet that he turned the building below him into a string cushion reducing the impact?I don't know about that. But really without that hes still not out.
Luffys used a lot of Haki. Can't remember who I was discussing this with a couple weeks ago. But we were correct. Haki uses energy. That's why full body is only used in the final parts of the fight.
Luffy was really putting in his all against flamingo. Even naming that as his final attack.
Gear 4 will grow with Luffy as he progresses (haki e.g.).
Do flamingo will finally be back in action. Its also safe to say Luffy could not defeat Dofla without Laws help. Luffy could only use gear 4 for a short time so using it early would be a waste. Yes it's powerful but in the end you can only use it for a short amount of time.
-
Are we really led to believe Doflamingo is down for the count?
-
Yeah, the fight's not over. We still need to see Zoro try to stop the strings. Which wouldn't be necessary to do if Doflamingo got defeated already.
-
Funny if Burgess was sent to collect Doflamingo. BB's gonna go all Kirby and take his power too.
-
not the best speech.
Poll: DD is down. b/c the ending words
-
Jinbe took the Poneglyph with him! Please Oda get him back on the front lines in the next arc!
I don't mind an upgrade as far as awakening goes, but if the general idea is that any fruit's powers can manipulate the environment to match that of the fruit I'm not sure how I feel about it. Still that would explain how Akainu managed to create a freakin active volcano on Punk Hazard. That never sat well with me but if it came from Awakened abilities then ok I buy it.
The grandma getting encouraged to stand and run again almost made me cry. I love this series!
Still at what point is enough enough? Fuji is really cutting it close letting Luffy go after Doffy on is own!
-
According to the chapter, the title should be "even if YOUR legs are broken". Sure it's correct?
-
Are we really led to believe Doflamingo is down for the count?
Its pretty torn 50/50 between posters.
-
I hope every paramecia has its own awakened form…
Strange thing,if we have to follow what doflamingo said, every awakened form consist on being able to reflect your power on the environment..problem is,many df already do that by default -
I think doffy will be very near death, and luffy will be near death from using gear 4th. Then they will have a slug it out battle like when luffy fought Z.
Then maybe luffy can use gatling gun and which pushes dofla into his own birdcage and finishes him?
I really though zoro would of hit the birdcage by now though, can't wait until next week! :) -

Zoro did say he's going to try to stop it to buy time. And then Franky saw something and realized what he wanted to do, apparently. There would be no question of buying time if he just planned to destroy it.

Partially correct. Aohige translated it as "Even if my leg breaks"
-
Fuji has finally done something :ninja:

Strange thing,if we have to follow what doflamingo said, every awakened form consist on being able to reflect your power on the environment..problem is,many df already do that by defaultIt's a good thing that it's probably reserved for the elite of the elites.
Blackbeard suddenly became a lot scarier, though.
-
It's funny, I always thought the poneglyphs were some kind of stone impossible to carry for some reason. And then Jinbe carry it like someone would go to shopping. Make you wonder why the WG didn't gather all the poneglyphs into Mariejoa or something. Well, plot hole.
-
Are we really led to believe Doflamingo is down for the count?
The last comment at the end of the issue does indicate that its over.
"The overwhelming special move decides the outcome of the battle".
For mangareader it sounds about right and not a mistranslation.
-

Even that doesn' t make sense for me, Riku is talking to everybody not just himself :wassat:
-
Remember when Robin called Jinbe handsom? Now Jinbe is bringing her one of the greatest gifts she could imagine. They're getting married during the epilogue.
-

He said that there's a "world" of things you can do after awakening so i'll assume they do.

Yeah, let's call a subject we know very little so far a plot hole. Getting rusty with the trolling now.

It was specified that poneglyphs could not be destroyed, but I don't remember ever seeing anything about them not being movable (and even then, it took a sea giant to do so). Anyway, the point is that they were hidden from plain sight and remained so for centuries. For all we know the WG has been doing exactly what you mention, but could not find all of them.
-
I don't get the "20 minutes later" thing. Surely that must be a mistake, unless Luffy has been jumping around in the air for 20 minutes?
-
The last comment at the end of the issue does indicate that its over.
"The overwhelming special move decides the outcome of the battle".
Come on, it can't be over yet : we still haven't seen Doflamingo's eyes :ninja:
And not even the Leo Bazooka could dislodge those glasses… Maybe they're made of Sea Stone, or are a part of Doflamingo's featuresOn a more serious note, maybe this simply should be interpreted as the battle took a decisive turn? I don't see it ending yet with Burgess still around, Birdcage still up and Zoro about to make his move.
-
So Luffy can break through Doflamingo strings? So luffy can destroy a birdcage nice!
Also DD doesn't seem to be done yet, probably fight will continue with weakened Luffy vs weakened DD or maybe someone will interfere.
-
even mingo has awaken his df
he has no match by luffy.
but what if akainu or crocoboy will awaken there haki? that would be unstoppable
-

"The overwhelming special move decides the outcome of the battle".

Maybe, maybe not. It's not a legally binding contract or anything like that. We've been mislead before.
Would be an extremely shitty way of ending the fight, especially after Dofla uncovering his Awakening which amounted to NOTHING. If this was Bleach, I'd expect anything, but not here. Dofla isn't defeated yet.
On another note, Franky seemed to be looking up when he realized what Zoro meant. Since they came to sea stone factory, maybe it's as simple as using it as a shield while holding strings back through physical force. They're going to push it, in short.
Another solution could be cutting away the sea stone part and throwing it to the tip of the cage. It would be like throwing a wrench in the gears. The cage couldn't move because the factory would be in the way. And the factory wouldn't fall because the cage is holding it in place while trying to constrict. -
I was expecting they mentioning malice and living like a demon being the key to awaken the DF.
That was in the spoilers, right?
-
On a side note, is it just me or was Dofla's "awakening" as useless as shit gets? Seriously, his earlier razor-wire moves were scary but all this "let me smash you with a bunch of big stringy tentacles" really amounted to nothing. At all. Makes the conclusion of the fight feel a bit hollow.
-

It's because luffy outclass doflamingo by far in g4. It was also to show us Luffy is now far above the level of DD in G4 he would be a match to admiral/yonko.
-
Yeah, let's call a subject we know very little so far a plot hole. Getting rusty with the trolling now.
common sense. I'm sorry, it makes absolutely no sense for the WG to not gather the poneglyphs into a secured place when they do their absolute best to prevent people from studying them, even going as far as destroying a whole island.
-

because
a)nobody can read them apart from robin
b)they are all basically hidden..one is in an ancient tomb on alabasta, one is on the freaking clouds, one is on fishman island and so on…no place in clear display on an island the WG has power on. -

Luffy used gear 4 after Law used gamma knife as Luffy wouldn't be able to defeat Doffy without it.
-

Nope, fake spoilers.

You know, the scholars in Ohara had so many of it below the tree. We all know that the poneglyphs can be carried.Maybe the WG also had a ton of it somewhere around the world.
-

b)they aren't well hiden, and their location are well known. And here we have Jinbe carrying a poneglyph when he was'nt even looking for a poneglyph. -

Those arent razor sharp strings that cut the meteor buddy.
-

So many of it? Last time I checked it was only one. Or are you just making that up?

Same case with Enel who also upgraded into a more powerful form but was beaten in a single chapter. The only difference is that Dofla's not done in yet, so we'll probably see more of his awakened powers next chapter.
-
@DHL:
Luffy used gear 4 after Law used gamma knife as Luffy wouldn't be able to defeat Doffy without it.
This is bunch of crap we haven't seen DD getting any weaker or hurting from gamma knife wound during the fight, in fact we saw DD getting even stronger. So I am assuming the fact he was hit by gamma knife doesnt really matter, would be beaten by luffy despite of that fact.
-
I expect the fight to finish next chapter because of the importance of the awakening of devil fruits but the way doflamingo was stuck into the wall reminded me of his flashback where he was with rocinante and his father in a similar position, so if the fight does end now, it is a nice touch. But as i said i hope it isnt over.
Have we seen any other df awakenings in the manga? Maybe WB? Kuzan when he freezes DD in PH?
-
Ok, I couldn't resist:

This strings were enough to block Calvary cannon or smash anything it touches, they are as taugh as the razor sharp.
