I was extremely disappointed that ending scene wasn't in this episode =/
The first half was great, nice new OST. The second half devolved into stupid padding - Fujitora and the stairs and the gambling. The cliffhanger was really odd, especially since they had a perfect one to end on from said chapter.
Overall, this was a good episode, but ending at the roulette was just stupid.

Much more than half. Only 4 pages were missing.
They probably need the extra pages for next week, since it's 4 pages shorter than the usual 19 (14 pages of adaptable content).
Issho's seiyuu is doing a great job so far.
All things considered though, it was actually a good episode. No glaring QUALITY either.
The end was awkward, but damn everything else made up for it.
I loved the art, especially the well-drawn backgrounds.

Good episode. I wish the filler was invested in something more interesting than "blind man hobbles along with stick for 30 seconds." I know plenty of blind people who move twice as fast as that, and they're not

it left me saying "OH SHIT THEN WHAT?" forgetting that ive already read the manga. the stairs padding was meh but nothing too stupid… and i really hope they keep this art and animation quality up for the whole arc.... this is just plain georgous to look at... add in a new sound track and for a good second forgot i was watching One Piece, and instead watching something with an insane budget.
Dressrosa is looking up... I believe in toei, lets hope i didn't jinx it.

Let's see… pacing wasn't the best, but it wasn't really bad either.
I love VA for the purple guy. I admit I was expecting something different, but it was awesome nonetheless.
I now wonder how will the certain line sound in the anime. Manga readers know what I'm refering too.
Filler scenes were suprisingly good. I liked that the guy was shown winning, which wasn't in the manga. Altough one has to wonder he does he ever gets anywhere while walking this slow.
Plus, a new piece of music, which is nice.
Cliffhanger was pretty stupid though.

Wow…didnt notice this reading the manga, but it was evident from this week's episode...Fujitora sounds EXACTYLY like Zatoichi voiced by Shintaro Katsu. His voice is a bit deeper, but the manner he speaks in, everything from his dialect to the choice of words he uses, to his demeanor while speaking.

I haven't watched the episode yet, but I think less than a chapter for an episode will be just unbearable. One chapter per episode is already too low.
Anyways, with Oda's wicked fast pacing in the beginning of this arc, there should be plenty of room for expansion if they treat it right.

This episode was pretty well done. Imo, the very beginning part at the ship was well handled, but the art and animation was a little hit-and-miss for me. But as soon as we're officially introduced to Dressrosa….so much better! And yeah, that stairs filler stupid. Like, the overly drawn out Oars resurrection scene in TB stupid. Maybe works okay on a first time view, but on DVD, it's FFW material. Other than that really, it's a solid start and introduction to the DR arc. ^^

Yeah, I noticed it as well (as well as a loud, static noise + pixelated video for ~2 seconds at around that time stamp as well).
Well, we can already tell by this episode that Dressrosa is gonna get dragged out and probably padded with filler. However, the way Oda set up this arc, there's plenty of room for the anime team to innovate and connect that Oda had glossed over. Anyways, I hope the animation quality continues like this; the first 2 episodes of Dressrosa have been great and I hope this is a sign the animators will be stepping up their game for this arc. The last 2 arcs have been decent, at best.
