Arlong Park has its own comic. Of course it did.
-
Yes!! I'm 100% with you on this one, Chopper doesn't get enough love! Didn't he not even make the preliminaries at some point?
I had the same impression for some reason, but he almost beat Enel last year…maybe due to the Law hat moment?
-

One might think that without Law hat moment Chopper would have beat Enel and got to the semi-finals:ninja:
-
Chopper actually had a VERY good year that year. He had a lot of momentum coming off of fishman island (the conceited monster thing) and early punk hazard treated him well too. He hasn't had much to do in Dressrosa yet but we'll see. At least Sanji continues to perform character suicide ;_____;
(FWIW, Sanji used to be my de-facto favorite character… my how things have changed)

I think that's also because some people always vote AGAINST Enel, no matter who it is.

That was a weird typo. Fixed it for you:ninja:

Can you elaborate because Sanji continues to be one of my favorite character? Altough Sanji is one of favorite, Chopper deserves to move on.
-
Sanji used to have really great moments like Mr. Prince, the Hunter, doing stuff behind the scenes and showing up all suave and stuff and just being a badass COOK.
When's the last time we've seen Sanji use a COOKING metaphor? Instead we've had pervert gags followed by pervert plotlines followed by character assassination of any female character in his presence.

To be fair he used cooking metaphor in his FI fight.

Agreed, but at least people still love the guy. Remember how close Sanji vs. Zoro was last year? That was an awesome match.
But again, Chopper's always overlooked…..it's settled, I shall campaign and vote for the reindeer!
-
Too bad Bellemere lost, but at least it's to another good character.
Now, let's get Vergo to the next round!

Indeed, Vergo needs to advance here! AP seems quite random recently regarding when it's mostly supporting good flashback characters vs supporting great newcomers…
-
I'm glad Galdino won. Couldn't have happened to a nicer dude…
-
And so suddenly, all the joy and enthusiasm I had for Mr. 3 winning washes off, just of seeing the current match's poll.
I need to be alone for a while now, regaining my faith in arlongparkinity!
-
With an attitude like that, prepare for a lot of disappointment.
-
Yeah, people should really stop saying things like "This one character HAS to win this!" or "I lost all my hope in APF. The character I really like lost against another character."
Though it's very appropriate, if Caesar loses. :ninja:
-
But what else would we talk about then?
-
@Light:
But what else would we talk about then?
Just phrase it differently instead.
"I would really have prefered xyz to win, but alas." sounds much nicer. :X
-
Are the second round matches determined by the number of the winner of the first round matches?
Sorry if this sounded awkward.
Let me explain it better with an example.
For example,
Would Iceberg and Tyrannous be facing Bellamy in the second round since the winner of match 1 will face off against the winner of match 2 and so forth? -
No, the match ups are all decided by random draws…

Or so we're told >_>
Not entirely convinced on some matches here :ninja:
-
I'm drawing the next round matches. Blame me for all the disappointment in the world when you see the results. <3

Good, I'll need a scapeparrot. <3

No, every match was a random draw.

No, every match was a random draw.
And how many times was it re-drawn until it delivered these results :P
(Kidding, but some of these matches are a little too perfect if you know what I mean ;) )

I went through and drew them out in one sitting while watching Gunsmoke and Bonanza on Encore Western.
The next Round is always, or at least, has been since I've been doing this, drawn fairly early on so that we have time to put together images beforehand. Most of the positions are held by numbers, whether Prelim position or match number, as a result with only the matches that had already taken place or Autopass characters actually having an assigned spot.
So you might have, say 10-1 vs 14-1 as a match; this year it got us Stringy McGee vs One Piece's Resident Bleach Character. After they're drawn and posted, I go through and look at the actual matches in question to make predictions about what they'll be. Sometimes I'm fairly accurate and others, I'm way off. In 2010, we had the possibility of Sanji vs Zoro in the First Round and the staff became hyped for it. Then Inazuma's fans showed up and we got Zoro vs. Inazuma and Sanji vs Shiryu instead.

Conspiracies! Well, I DO know that the mods have a special thread invisible to us other users where they discuss things just to do with the tournament, so, I still believe that some matches are not as random as they want us to think. Some are too perfect for that, and the chances that those happened to be drawn at random are way too small :ninja:
-
I agree with Juvar on this. Maybe you select the matches at random and then, you modify it to make it interesting. This is just a theory so don't hate on me.
-
-
I bet the staff's in the Illuminati too.
-
Obama reads OP. Just saying…
-
Given the scheduled down period, when will the Laboon match open (with time zone specified please)? Because once again I might not be able to be online to properly campaign when it happens :( In fact I probably won't be
-
What's this about the organisers rigging things? Don't people realise that half the people on this forum are just sock puppets for the mods and seniors who post mostly just to back up their opinions?
Incidentally, I really love how you guys sorted the matches. You're the bestest ever. And so attractive.
-
We don't rig things.
Except when we do.
-
Crocus is winning off that one really good gag built upon by really good campaigns . . .
It's a shame Vergo just has one really bad gag . . .
-
Just phrase it differently instead.
"I would really have prefered xyz to win, but alas." sounds much nicer. :X
I was just kidding the whole time! Did it really sound that rude to you?
Well partially kidding. :ninja:
-
Ahahahaha, oh boy, you people are going to love this.
-
When is the scheduled downtime at APF?
-
I think the only match left I feel motivated to vote in and campaign maybe for is Bepo.
Bepo vs the great Gatzby
[/rolls around]
Bepo 2013
I can see it. -
Ahahahaha, oh boy, you people are going to love this.
Now that sounds promising, looking forward to seeing this.
Hopefully this something will involve Fujitora or/and Doflamingo, fingers crossed -

I'll be here for Laboon.

go easy on me, Dry. My heart's weak enough already. :O

Me too. I like Zeff a ton but….c'mon, the Laboon-Smiley alliance needs to be upheld!

To be honest, it sounded a bit like a sore loser. But don't take anything to heart in the tournament, it's only fun & games after all.

Bepo 2013
I can see it.Gatz: B…but the only choice here is to vote for the great Gatz-san!
Everyone else: Gatz-san, you have to remain neutral. -
First Vergo and now Rayleigh huh… this year's tournament is really unpredictable.
-
So I blame all of you for this. And I will retaliate by turning this fun serious and boring.
One step ahead of you, my friend. There's a reason I'm called dry.
-

I read your posts. I agree. It just doesn't bother me as much as it bothers you. The stubbornness and contrived conflict that is. What bothers me about Norland is that he surrenders in the end and doesn't fight back. I HATE that kind of martyrdom self sacrifice shit to no end. I hate that the pirate king did the same. Though I can stomach it more due to the fact that he was dying anyway and had a purpose. A very important one. Still I can barely stomach it.
-
Gatz is neat and all, but I'm Team Bepo.
It's like Lawfare for the whole family.
