I think a haki imbued gom gom axe could do it from Luffy, but he would have to show himself to do it.
Chapter 717: "The Forgotten of Dressrosa"
-
-
@No:
Also, I am a bit worried that the other Doflamingo Family members introduced during the tournament (Machvise, Lao G, Senor Pink, Diamante and Dellinger) may go the way of Saldeath, that is appear for one chapter, not do much of anything, and then only have an appearance of like two panels, and also not doing much of anything.
Well Saldeath was never a fighter to begin with, he only had the ability to hypnotize the blugoris with his flute. These guys on the other hand are defending champions and Doffy's crewmembers, so they most likely still have a part to play.
Just hoping they won't be pwnd instantly! It would be awkward if Dellinger would be defeated in one chapter after all the campaigning I did for him. :ninja: -
forgotten people
-
Is anyone else fearing Oda will skip over the rest of the Fuji/Law/Dofla bout? I wouldn't be suprised if Dofla's powers aren't shown more fully until he fights Luffy but I would like to see how Law compares to an admiral.
^I'd be worried if his name was Kishimoto and not Oda.
lol .

Depends COMPLETELY on the set-up which I'm curious about. IT LOOKS like a 1vs1 thing, but for all we know it could be a 4vs4. If it were a 1vs1, I wouldn't expect the guy facing Jesus to have much screen time (if any, it's probably just to showcase what Jesus is capable of *shrug). If it's a 4vs4, then be prepared for some ridiculous hijinks with Jesus, Bart, Luffy, and (Someone?) facing these goons all at once.
Honestly, I have no idea how this tournament thing is going to work after the blocks (I'm guessing it will probably follow the traditional DB structure shrug)
-
lol .
I don't consider it a full-fledged fight. DD and Fuji are toying around, while Law drew the short end of the stick and ended up being both guys' toy.
-
At this point, I'm going to assume that Law pretty much lost CC during all of this though he still has his heart so…yeah...I wonder what's going on here.
-
Yay new chapter
lol cinjao crying, wondering what garp do in the past …........
hmm, toy was a human before and people memory wipedtime for a little prediction
all the toys are former dressrosa soldier, people who loyal to former ruler, and people who breaks doflamingo rule.
ricky the gladiator was the former king, rebeca the princess
and sol is kyros :ninja: ( but rebeca seems knew sol so...... )also i think doflamingo using some sort of gas/drug to brainwash citizen ( curfew thing smell fishy )
knowing ceasar the mad scientist.Law not looking hot right now. but i'm sure he has plan.
i hope nami, chopper, brook, and momo is okay and beating the crap out of jola ( with nami there, i have no worries )hahaha, usoland haki and lol at granny got stitched
the dwarfs just adorablehmm seeing how the story progress, the tournament will stop half way and coloseum will become war ground with SH,Law,Dwarfs,Gladiator? vs Doffy pirates crew,Marine,CP0
(doflamingo set mera no mi as the prize to lure luffy from first place) so the continuation of tournament not that important.opposite to dragon, luffy keep saving the royal family lol . alabastra, fishman, and now dressrosa (if my prediction ricky was the king is right).
can't wait for next chap, in two week
-
I don't consider it a full-fledged fight. DD and Fuji are toying around, while Law drew the short end of the stick and ended up being both guys' toy.
And so the mystery of how people became toys is solved. :ninja:
-
something I just noticed, the scrap house have Diamante's card sign on it
[HIDE][/HIDE]
-
Could it be that Don Chinjao's memory loss is caused because someone important to him was turned into a toy, and the memories rearranged themselves in a way that seems like Garp in his final battle did it.
-

Nice catch. The shaft propably leads directly to toil and torment as a factory worker. -
If Diamante is in charge of both the factory and the coliseum, then I truly wonder what Spade is responsible for.
-
Law needs to be captioned with they see me rolling they hatin'
-
A spinning Law should be added to the dancing Sasuke gif
-
Could it be that Don Chinjao's memory loss is caused because someone important to him was turned into a toy, and the memories rearranged themselves in a way that seems like Garp in his final battle did it.
Honestly, I think Chinjao lost his memory after headbutting one too many continents.
-
Yeah and I was the one who made the comment about the underground tunnel connecting the Colliseum,Green Bit, Flower Field and Doflamingo's castle since those are the main focus of DressRosa and this flashback might end up being the longest flashback in the OP history
i bet DR is full of these:
!
! Kudos if you can get the reference without looking it up. (hint: GLA - Tunnel Network)A long flashback of this magnitude sounds like a dream, i hope Oda won't Toy around. (YYEEEAAAHHH!!)
So we have…
- a DF user who turned some of the humans (wonder why? Most of them seem to be males but there are still human men walking around unless the guy that chick was with was really a woman) into toys
- a DF user who can erase or control memories of people (I'm looking at you seahorse)
But waht I want to know is WHY.
Why did Dofla suddenly decide to turn some people into toys?
Why not all of them?
Why at all?
Doflamingo you're a mysterious little shet.We all know why Dolfy turns most males into toys:
!
subtle rape faceBut seriously, why not turn only some people to toys? It's perfect. If he turns all then you can smell something fishy about the whole kingdom and it's ruler (which may lead to the loss of Shichi status at least). Plus, by turning some to toys you terrorize everyone more effectively. The toys are oppressed by the phenomena and by trying to disobey you get thrown to scrap (which is a whole interesting topic on its own).
I got the impression that it's just one DF user that does both. Meaning that when he turns you into a toy, other people forget about you.
You might be right. Moreover, i think this has something to do with Flamingo's "pace", i.e. his charisma as the king makes people to slowly forget anything flamingo wants them to. That or the mysterious DF user's ability is like Moria's side effect but reversed.
-
maybe the fighters are being used to create the smileys some how
could be, maybe to get a Smile Fruit you have to "spend" a life. It's easier to think of experiments that create zoan "fruit users" by merging with animals ( in a bath of SAD?) than just creating "devil fruits". The next step would be killing the "Fruit Users", put the right normal fruit next to them and wait for it to become a fake devil fruit. Also the fact that only Toys are made to work at the factory could be because whatever procedure are they running might affect humans but not people already under some other DF power…
Right now Luffy and Law need an Army and besides the dwarves it would be awesome if the fighters are all turned into toys, the Mugiwara save them and the new allies side with Luffy for the last epic battle... From what Don Chinjao says this could turn up being the first island in a long campaign of conquest for the Luffy's Alliance... i really can't wait for the time when newspapers about "whatever may happen in this arc" start spreading and people start realizing the Supernova are advancing and even Shichibukai and an Admiral can't hold Law's & Luffy's Alliance! I also want to see Jinbe back (maybe saving Trafalgar...)!
I think a haki imbued gom gom axe could do it from Luffy, but he would have to show himself to do it.
oh, I miss Gom Gom giant Axe (awww Enies Lobby…) it would be so great with Haki! Don Chinjao was called Auger/Drill, but now his head is flat and dull as a board, i guess the Gom Gom Axe squashing Chinjao's forehead to the ground could squeeze the drill back out and make peace between the two...
great color spread! Thanks Redon for the bigger resolution!

The reason why Dofla made the law of everyone going home after midnight, I think is related to SAD. Maybe that is the time when the Sad is transported!
-
Or maybe it's like cinderella and the spell wears off after midnight?
-
If Diamante is in charge of both the factory and the coliseum, then I truly wonder what Spade is responsible for.
Actually he's in charge of the Colisseum but as we know the factory is beneath the Colisseum making them a COLI-FACTO in which Diamante is in charge but that bring to the question: What does the Spade guy, we didn't get to see his face and we haven't even seen his subordinates
–- Update From New Post Merge ---

Sad wasn't available 10 years ago

What happens if you feed them after midnight I wonder…

b) Those who turn into toys lose their memories as a human, right? But how does the Toy Soldier know the history and the divisions? He….re-learned them as a toy and wants to turn back?
c) We saw human-toy families back in 701, right? How in god's name does that work?its humans who lost their memories
!
if you mean this, this little toy and that bigger one too, were probably close to that woman in the past, it being turned into small toy doesnt mean he is child or something, and that woman doesnt remember a thing, but they are just trying to be close to her like father who was turned into dog toy.
anybody else think that momonosuke'S dofla flashback as something to do with the toy memory issue thing?
it could be, but here more important is what kind of connection did he have with doffy :3
Could it be that Don Chinjao's memory loss is caused because someone important to him was turned into a toy, and the memories rearranged themselves in a way that seems like Garp in his final battle did it.
what about treasure that cant be reached? if that important one was turned into toy, and he sill remembered him why couldnt he have taken him/her?
-
Toys by day and slaveworkers by night
Not a shabby completely insane idea you've got there Doffy
-
- Speak out against OP berlusconi
- "Right sir, come with us"
- Everyone suddenly forgets dissenter
- Weird new toy spews crazy talk about being a human, transformed by Doflamingo
- Silly toy, must be broken, into the soul crushing pit of learn your god damned lesson this time with him
-
Also, I'm pretty sure the toys know who they are (or rather, once were) and that if they tell the people who they really are, they'll just be waved off as defective and thrown into the incinerator.
-
at that page could it be possible that he is talking about One piece? That would be interesting :P I mean he could be defeated before he can lay his hands at the great treasure :P :P http://readms.com/read/one_piece/717/2011/6

Yea, that's exactly what was shown in the chapter.

and he is too much crybaby if he cried about that like this  and stupid if he wants to revenge not by defeating garp but by killing someone special to him,
-
Kyros is the toy soldier, Rebecca is his daughter.

Yeah, but for some reason, it wasn't clear enough to some people on here, so I just felt like stating the obvious.
-
a DF that turn people to toys?…. Santa Claus????
-
Kyros is the toy soldier, Rebecca is his daughter.
I thought Kyros could be a toy soldier too but his disappearance (20 years ago) and the time the df user DoFla brought (10 years ago) don't match up.
-
Wow, where to even start….
This is probably my most favorite panel since the Time Skip:
!
- Countless Souls…. that possess the king's will
- Your fate will play out there
- You and your FELLOW CONQUERS…. will fight for the top spot. <–---- REALLY love this line.
-The last one (of the Conquers) standing will be the Pirate King…..
So there are groups and groups of ppl that have the King's Will (CoC)…. Each of them who are each "1/million" in ability to stand above all others.... will be going head to head to see who will be the "Conquer of Conquers"….. such an epic line.
So even though its a 1/million shot….. there seems to be a decent amount of people who were ordained with the King's Will. There is that word W word again…. always cropping up. God I love seeing that word. My mind is literally running in circles at the possibilities this can mean....
- a Tribe of "D" ???
- Roger's quest through the GL and what he mysteries he learned (Haki, DF, One Piece, Void Century, WG)
- Is Luffy the ONLY special one in the world of one piece, or are their literally dozens of others with the same WILL who could just as easily take the top spot…..
(Luffy has been shown to resemble Roger is so many ways throughout the course of hte series…. so from a story stand point, it seemed it was destiny for him to become the next PK. But what if.... there are many others out there, with just as much ability, charisma, desire, and WILL to be just as much a successor as Luffy is???)
This revelation by Don C suggests that this "battle" for the ONE Piece has going on for years (duh) but that it also has happened before. What I mean is that the course of events that is leading Luffy and others to on their quest for ONE Piece (destiny, Will, Romance) seems to have happened before…. even before Roger's time. Almost like history is repeating repeating itself…
Don C dialog seems to indicated that this cycle before. " You and your fellow Conquers will vie for the top spot"…. The only way this makes sense is if ppl (the Conquers) have been fighting for years already; and its coming to a head again in this new era. The way he tells Luffy that "your FATE will play out there"… implies that it has happen before with previous generations; a contest of WILLS if you will (pun intended). Generations and generations being led by fate to fight for the top spot.... again and again. The reason why this cycle keeps going seems to be b/c of "Freedom"; or rather the desire for Freedom seems to be the main catalyst.
The Cycle seems to be:
the era changes,
ppl set out onto the GL,
ONE Piece is found,
a PK is born…..then it repeats
Destiny/Fate is (repeatedly) pulling these individuals (the Conquers) together in order to achieve….. well... I don't know the answer to that yet; but the WILL (of D) for some reason trying to achieve a goal that will perhaps end this cycle....
!
!
!
The Will that is pulling this individuals together seems to be the overarching themes of the series. The new revelation (to me at least) is that Luffy is NOT THE ONLY ONE that has a shot at being the ONE to be rule this new era (aka become PK)…. but that there are other Conquers out there, being pulled together by FATE and their dreams for Freedom, in an effort to reach an end to this cycle.
Of course I haven't touch upon the WG and its role in this cycle… perhaps their objective to is to maintain this "perpetual cycle" in order to prevent a bigger catastrophe from happen. Though its easy to see them in a bad light, the WG's TRUE goals may not be as malicious as one would think. Maybe do to circumstances that have already occurred in the past (Void Century) the WG is trying to prevent an event that would otherwise jeopardize the entire world. Knowing Oda-san, the issue the Void Century and the WG annihilation of the Ancient ones is NOT going to be black and white (bad guys and good guys)… The reasons for the WG and their Absolute Justice will likely have some good justification, and by knowing the REAL TRUTH,
!
Knowing the REAL TRUTH may just about context… and depending on the context, one may come to a different conclusion then another. The WG and the Ancients clearly had different points of view (on what we don't know, but it can be speculated that it may have been on the issue surrounding the REAL TRUTH behind ONE Piece). The Ancient had one view point, the WG had another (who was right or wrong is unknown).... thus they went to war...... and the rest, as they say, is history.
This perspective on the REAL TRUTH would also explain the reasons why the WG took such extreme actions in the past (wiping away all trace of the Ancient ones, "Blanking Out" an entire Century, and prohibiting the reading of the Poneglyphs)…. and the actions they are taking now in order to prevent others from finding ONE Piece.
I started writing this post more than an hour ago and I still have much to write about, but I will leave it here for know.

Thanks for that insight Tainted! I also found that panel to be of most interest this chapter. It's always great when Oda introduces a character from the Golden era who can shed some light on the will of D and battle for One Piece.
I guess from this we can presume that all those vying for the top spot must have CoC? Does that include Teach….........it's never been made known whether he possess that sort of power or any form of Haki for that matter......and he's clearly one of the heads that will butt in the new world being one of the "worst generation"

Spade Guy is Sabo :ninja: . His Ability, the Sabo Sabo no mi, is to transform other characters in the series to Sabo. He won't stop till everyone will be sabo and he will be the King-Sabo. (Who haven't seen this coming?)
-

At Roger time, One Piece didn't Existed! Most Pirates were trying to travel across all the Grand Line, a feat never achieved by anyone, not find the One Piece, a non existent treasure. One Piece is Gol D. Roger treasure, it was him that created it.

whether he has CoC or not… his role in future events is undeniable. Personally, I can see him having it... he was one of the first characters in OP to acknowledge Luffy's Haki and how much stronger it got since their last meeting.
!
! Maybe a little foreshadowing by Oda-san that there is more to BB then meets the eye…. :) -
I'm not saying it's impossible, but 'mon' and 'man' seem a little off vowel-wise, I know we're rendering to Japanese, but I think they'd still come out different. Also, Moncheri would be a weird name for a princess :p
Moncheri means "My Dearest" that is pretty fitting giving her character LOL

Please don't quote big posts like that. At least cut the text out and put something small in, like "words" or "a story".

LOL I didn't even think of this.
I wasn't like "maybe it was one piece" but this didn't occur to me yet. -
That colorspread really, really confuses me.
- Why the fuck is Law still wearing his hat?
- Sanji and Brook in general
- Franky and Zoro with the "You Must be New Here" Pose
- Dat Kinemon.
All in all, solid chapter. Don Chinjao was a little unexpected, didn't think he was the type of guy to break down like that. Also, the part with the dog was so full of feels.
-
I didnt like the colour spread, either. The chapter was great. I wonder where Zorro is and how many chapters we have to wait until they start to attack the factory.

Why are people assuming One Piece is a big pile of gold
Zephos gonna pop a vein

After reading this chapter I'm convinced the treasure don chinjao was after was a women.
