Naruto and Bleach II: I don't have the heart to care anymore.

@Cyan:
Kubo's editor is a raging alcoholic from first attempting to edit Kubo's Gospel.
We all know his editor gets completely before looking at each Bleach chapter.
But wow, that video was painful was to watch. I found it sad more than anything else. That kid needs professional help.

Meh he's a young teen. They do weird stuff like this nowadays lol. I was more amused that he had to put on music and take his shirt off. I was a bit concerned when he stared at the camera strangely after all that yelling.
And wait, so manga writers have editors? What do they do exactly?
-
Bleach 2, the story of Ichigo's son.

@Pix:
Bleach 2, the story of Ichigo's son.
Objection. This implies Ichigo had sex.
Positively absurd.

Well, if you read Bakuman, you'd know that editors are there basically to aid in the writing, drawing, and overall presentation of a manga. They may tell an artist to change or omit a few lines, alter the art, or in major cases may tell the artist to take the story in a different direction.
In the case of Kishi and Kubo's editors though, they just skim the script, give a thumbs up, say "okey-dokey" and then die a little inside.

Doesn't matter if it's absurd, Kubo has shown he has all the writing ability of a Post-Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic fanfic writer.

Apparently you've never heard of artificial insemination.
-
But we've only seen a few of the many Banki out there. Plus, it's not like each Bankai is exactly the same.
1. Why can't I have a webcam to do stuff not half this stupid ?
2. All throughout the later half I was thinking if his parents are gonna come in.
Overall, when you make Chris-Chan look less stupid, you've got problems.

I have, and it's actualy the twist for this upcomming arc. :ninja:

And, honestly, I'm curious as to how Kubo will out Kubo himself for the finale.

*by just being Kubo…
I shall say that Bleach has the best portrayal of women that I have seen in a shonen series: in Bleach, the women are automatically regarded as equals to men and therefore do not need to prove their worth, do not use their attractiveness to influence men (apart from Rangiku Matsumoto, in whose case being seductive is part of her character), and, whenever they were emotional, had understandable reasons for being so, such as when Orihime witnessed Ulquiorra massacring Ichigo, Soi Fong was upset over Yoruichi's sudden disappearance, and when Aizen was manipulating Hinamori.

I haven't read more than the 1st or 2nd chapter. I couldn't get into it. So…yeah lol. But thank you for the explanation. I guess all published artist need an editor to keep people in check sometimes. I figured that'd be a stressful job.

damn it guys.. finish what you read.. i need a feedback.
in my heart i know something is not right with that qoute but i can't find anything against it.. its like… -

I'm not convinced that
a) Kishi has grown tired of his series
or
b)Kishi's editor thinks the series has deteriorated in quality.
Naruto hasn't dropped in popularity, and that's the only thing an editor cares about, ultimately. It's quite possible he sees nothing wrong with what's happened-in fact, it's quite possible he's in fact had some input and is proud of the series for it. Simply put, it could be the case that both Kishi and his editor are not as discerning as we are.
-
Let me guess….Bleach Asylum?
I always feel Sad when I look at that website, so depressing.
Edit: they have a thread talking about their favorite panels…
-
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/asylum
Definition of asylum:
1. (especially formerly) an institution for the maintenance and care of the mentally ill, orphans, or other persons requiring specialized assistance.
2. an inviolable refuge, as formerly for criminals and debtors; sanctuary.
Describing the folks at Bleach Asylum, they probably meant the latter, but we'll use the former.

Can't think of any other reason for the shitty-ass art.

Then he's just a tasteless idiot too. But I like giving people the benefit of the doubt.
Edit: they have a thread talking about their favorite panels…
Actually, I could see us doing that.
Does "The Heart" count as a panel?

He can do it, guys! We all just have to give him our power! raises arms We have to believe in him!!

If "the heart" can be counted as a legit panel, I'll have a manga series drawn up by Saturday morning.

And it's true that they don't need to prove their worth. But Kubo's overall execution of them is way worse than the guys. The girls have the potential to be badass, but it's the guys who get the spotlight and the best fights.
It's better than Naruto, but that's not saying much.

oh no.. different place. nothing todo with BA.

what about kuina nad tashigi in One Piece? is Oda being sexist with them?

Considering how Kuina's dead, it doesn't matter what gender she was.
I don't like how fretful and skittish Tashigi looks now (compared to her headstrong demeanor before), but it seems she can fight with the best of them.
Either way, why are you asking this in the NaruBleach thread?
-
wait was the last ar5c really supposed to be about chad…. wow that's sad

By the way this week's Naruto episode has Guy vs shark dude in the second part.
Cool stuff.
-
Is it 20 minutes of close ups and flashbacks again before any real fighting gets done?
-
I remember the days long past when the first bad thing people said about Naruto was the shit ton of flashbacks
Oh the simpler times of 2005, how I miss thee

Yeah, and this one is supposedly to be Ishida's arc. I wonder how Kubo will
ignorehandle Ishida. -

Well i skipped the first part so i cant tell, but the whole fight is showed without any interruption.

ignorehandle Ishida.Do mangaka actually hype their arcs through interviews like that? Giving spoilers and stuff that'll happen later just to keep the reader tuned in. Shit, let the story do the talkin.

Can't wait to see Uryu change. Bleach is the poster boy for long and short term character development.

That would require having a story in the first place.

His artistic ability is sputtering after more than a decade of nonstop mangamaking. His body might be under huge amounts of strain. He doesn't take as many breaks as Oda does.
Then he's just a tasteless idiot too. But I like giving people the benefit of the doubt.
Then you're calling millions of fans tasteless idiots as well.

Renji: Oh, You're a woman? I'm sorry, but even if you charge me with the intent to kill, I'm not going to dignify you with an actual fight. Women are such fragile creatures. I will now illustrate this point by pathetically One-Hit-KOing you with a halfassed swordhilt blow.
While Bleach isn't on Narutos level in terms of misoginy - the "I have no value other than as support for men or babymaking" level - it's really really bad at portraying its' female characters as, well, competent.
Take it's two female leads. Rukia stats off by jobbing to a piss-weak hollow, then being incapacitated and thrown around by yet more bottom feeders. But at least she’s likeable, and theres the promise that she’ll improve when her powers return. Before that we have the SS arc, where she's a completely passive "I don't wanna be rescued!" Damsel in distess. When her powers finally return in the arrancar arc, she gets her greatest moment of glory when she takes down one of Aizens henchmens henchmen!…And then gets immediately brutalized by Grimmjow. And again another time after that. But she takes down a one-chapter fodder sandmonster, and goes on to beat Aaroniero!... by a lucky strike after being severely curbstomped, and I won't call that more than a draw since she was left perforated and dying on the floor. After having her unconscious body manipulated by Zommari, she manages to fare well against Rudobone!...until Yammy interrupts her fight, and breaks all her bones, Vegeta Oozaru style.
And finally she lost against Perona. As for Orihime, she has powers so über that she can reject events from existence and yet…sigh. I don't need to do more than point to the last two arcs, do I.
And there is no defence for Hinamori. None.

Let's not forget the "Oh, you treated me as having an inferior level of power without me even doing anything and didn't even use your powers to defeat me ! Allow me to immediately bond with you and proceed to kill myself to let you go !"
Granted she didn't die…...for some reason, but still, even if she didn't, her reasoning is terrible.
-
His artistic ability is sputtering after more than a decade of nonstop mangamaking. His body might be under huge amounts of strain. He doesn't take as many breaks as Oda does.
Then he should take a break every now and then like Oda does, or maybe get some more assistants. Now, I don't know what it's like being an artist, much less one that has put out 20 pages of a comic book every week for over a decade, but I would think his artistic ability would actually increase over time rather than sputter out. I mean, he's still relatively young, and you'd think he'd be used to the release schedule by now.
Then you're calling millions of fans tasteless idiots as well.
Uh….....yeah?
But I guess "idiots" may be a little extreme. Tasteless alone is fine.

Yeah, but that's just shitty Shonen Character logic in general. Even considering hat I wrote earlier, I'm wondering whether it isn't just a case of every Bleach character having it terrible.
Then again, feel free to correct me, but as far as I remember this is the grand total of Fights won by Women in Bleach:
- Orihime vs generic hollow
- Rangiku vs Kira
- Yourichi vs Soifon
- Rukia vs D-Roy
- Rangiku vs Fat Arrancar
- Rukia vs Sand Hollow thing
- Rukia vs Aaroniero (draw)
- Soifon vs Barragans underling
- Vizard girls vs Gillians
- Perona vs Rukia
…for an almost 500 chapter series with such a massive cast of female fighters, I'm not that impressed.
-

Boogaloo is a genre of Latin music and dance. Electric Boogaloo is a bizarre subtitle that is often associated with the title of a sequel of just about anything (like this thread). It always implies that the sequel won't be as good as the original.

Okay I see ^^. Thanks for the info….

Should Nel vs. Nnoitra be included in here, or can it viewed as more of a tie?
But yeah I agree, there needs to be more female battles and/or victories.
